Just thinking of you my sweet little girl Alley, and wishing I had more photos of your time with us ( our old computer crashed and we lost some photos)the picures in my heart are always here. Time is a funny thing there are moments when it seems like furever since I last held you and then there are times when it seems just like yesterday you were here with us. You were the cuddler to the other kitties now the kities no longer cuddle together I think you were the clue that kept them so close to each. You didn't cuddle as much with mom and dad so on those times you did we dropped eveything to share the precious moments with you.
You my sweet angel are the reason we have made so many catster friends I am not sure we would have ever landed here if it had not been for you. Thanks for bringing us here.
Memories are so wonderful...and no technology can ever lose them.
(Can your Mom take the old hard drive out of the broken confuser and then take it to a place where the info can be retrieved? There are firms that do that, but meowmy forgets what they are called...sigh...maybe check it out in the interwebs...)
((((( ♥ )))))
oh yes that is a good idea and we still have the old hard drive so will check that out thanks WeBees
We had a broken confuser here, too...and all of meowmy's pics were on it, OMC:(
Pawppy is kind of a tech head, and he was able to make the new confuser talk to the old one and somehow he transferred all the old stuff on to the new one...now it has to just be sorted through and organized, then he will transfer back the info that meowmy wants. She still had all her SD cards, so she could reload those on to the new confuser, only the pics that were on CD's have to be made into another medium, and the ones that were sent over the emails have to be found, too. Anything on Photobucket, Catster/Dogster, and Imikimi are still there...
Pawppy recommends storing important info onto another hard drive at regular intervals, he calls that 'backing up the files'. hat way there is always a second copy to use in these annoying scenarios.
Sheesh! How did we ever do with out technology??! MOL!
It's great to have lots and lots of photos like mom has of me and my bro-furs now, but she says having at least one photo of your loved-one is still wonderful, and it makes that photo even more special. She only has one photo of her first kitty and it's framed and proudly displayed. Someday she needs to make a memorial page for him and scan that one photo to share here on catster. The love in your heart is the most important part. Sounds so mushy--but so true!
Thanks WeBees mom is going to attempt to retrieve them and now she does need to do a back up we did move some photos to a flash drive. MOL technology is great but it takes some work to keep up.
Hi Calista we love mushy and it is so true. WE look forward to seeing the memorial page of your mom's first kitty
My girl is obsessed with taking photos - there must be thousands of me. Sometimes, I even cooperate with her photo taking. MOL.
Sweet Alley, I hope your Mom can get your photos back.
Happy Birthday Alley. If the hard drive itself still works, maybe you could hook it up to another pc & transfer the pictures from it. There's a freeware program called recuva that can recover files even from a reformatted hard drive.
Otherwise, you may need to find a data recovery service to recover the data from that hard drive for you. Good luck!
