Hi: great looking cat. Mine was exactly like that and I've been attempting to determine if mine was a Norw. forest Cat or a Main Coon. But whatever this one is, that's what mine was. I'm guessing this is a Norwegian Forest Cat? Am I correct? (Also, I'm looking for another one, mine got sick and you know the rest of the story, not good:( 1/'13)
Thank you for your time
Thank you for your time
Hi Dan, Finney is part Maine Coon and part Norwegian Forest Cat. That's what the vet and I are guessing since he has both their traits. He was actually left as a kitten on the side of the road and abandoned. My vet rescued him and gave him to me.
Thank you from responding so soon. Your Finney is the exact, I mean exact duplicate of my Yellor. We called him that name because he was walking down our street in distress and he would walk by us and just 'yipe' but he really was in distress. He was all matted up, I never dreamed he would look as good as he did when we finally got him cleaned up. He became part of house for 8 years. He never did like to stay inside all the time. I made him a cat house w/ three windows and two exits and heated outside for our IL winter's. He got sick about two weeks ago and didn't get better, we had to say goodbye. The next days were awful. I didn't even know about FIV etc., and I know he got into fights sometimes. The next one will be inside and I'll probably net off part of the yard. Your kitty sure reminds me of Yellor 100% almost to the T! If you ever see another one, his brother maybe:), please let me know. I enjoyed your pictures so much, thank you. You take care. I think the Norwegian's have a little more of a triangular face but I'm not sure. Yellor was very good inside, very calm. People say cat's are sp? "aluff" Sp? but I think they are just very sensitive and kind. Yellor was a great buddy, we miss him a lot. Take care
I'm so very sorry for your loss. I lost my Alex 4 1/2 years ago and I still miss her everyday. My kitties are always indoor only. Safer that way for many reasons. I'm glad you'll open your heart again to another kitty that needs love. I know I couldn't have gotten through my darkest days without my two troublemakers.
At what age do NFC's and Main C's become full grown? thanks
Five years old.
