Catster advocates for adopting before shopping, though we fully understand there are many reasons for seeking a breeder. So, we encourage it to be done the right way. We have not personally visited or investigated all of the breeders below. We have put the top-recommended all in one place for you to get in touch and make the best decision for you. Learn more about our stance and how to choose the right breeder here.

The Sphynx cat is unique in appearance and personality. They love people and want to be with their owners at all times. The Sphynx loves to snuggle and is very affectionate. They are known for their hairless bodies that are soft to the touch. Their lack of hair makes the Sphynx sensitive to cold temperatures.

Perhaps this is why it can be difficult to find these cats in Wisconsin. With harsh, cold winters, Wisconsin is not an ideal climate in which to breed hairless cats. However, the Sphynx can be a good pet for Wisconsinites as long as they are kept warm.

We have put together a list of Sphynx cat breeders in Wisconsin, along with some options in neighboring states and cat rescues. Keep reading to learn more about where you can find your next feline companion.

Top 2 Sphynx Breeders in Wisconsin

1. SGG Sphynx Cattery

📍 Racine, WI

This small, family-owned cattery breeds The International Cat Association (TICA) registered cats from championship-winning bloodlines. They raise all of their kittens in-house around people and other pets so that they learn to be sociable and comfortable in a family. All of their breeding cats have health records listed on their website along with their photos.

You can see the upcoming expected litters on the website as well, with photos of the breeding pairs. The color and pattern of each kitten depend on the specific breeding pair. This cattery has several different colored and patterned breeding cats on hand.

2. Scheherazade Sphynx Cattery

The owner of Scheherazade has been breeding Sphynx cats for over 20 years. Their cats have won awards from both TICA and the Cat Fanciers’ Association. The lines this cattery has been breeding throughout its existence are screened for diseases and kittens come with a 2-year health guarantee.

Kittens are not sent home with buyers until they are at least 12 to 16 weeks old and have been spayed or neutered. This breeder also gives priority to previous clients and referrals before accepting applications from new clients.

Cat Rescues and Shelters in Wisconsin

If you are looking for a rescue animal rather than a kitten from a breeder, then you should check out one of these organizations in Wisconsin. Some organizations deal with purebred cats only while others service any cat in need. You might find a Sphynx or other hairless cat breed through a rescue organization or shelter.

1. Specialty Purebred Cat Rescue
