Catster advocates for adopting before shopping, though we fully understand there are many reasons for seeking a breeder. So, we encourage it to be done the right way. We have not personally visited or investigated all of the breeders below. We have put the top-recommended all in one place for you to get in touch and make the best decision for you. Learn more about our stance and how to choose the right breeder here.

Ragdolls are known for their cuddly and friendly nature. Therefore, it isn’t much of a surprise that these felines are incredibly popular among families looking for companion animals. They have also stolen the hearts of many breeders. A couple of breeders throughout Louisiana specialize in these floppy kittens. We listed the most active ones here.

The 2 Ragdoll Breeders in Louisiana

1. Nola Ragdolls Vieux Carre’ Cattery

📍 Madisonville, Louisiana

The Vieux Carre’ cattery is a small cattery based in-home and registered with the TICA. They ensure their kittens are raised underfoot and heavily socialized, helping them grow into confident and lovable pets.

All their cats are DNA tested for hypertrophic cardiomyopathy and polycystic kidney disease. Like most catteries, they have a waiting list that you can register with to ensure that you snag a kitten when one becomes available.

2. Cats by Francy

📍 Lafayette, Louisiana

This cattery specializes in Persians, Himalayans, and Ragdolls. They have been breeding cats since 1978 but only recently began breeding Ragdolls in 2010. Ragdolls aren’t the primary cats that they breed, but they have litters regularly.

Their kittens receive plenty of veterinary checks before going to their new homes. For instance, they get all the necessary vaccinations, de-worming, and flea prevention. They are also socialized and trained. Breeding cats are DNA tested to ensure they don’t carry any underlying diseases.
