Three of a family's four cats (one of whom is in the photo above) were rescued during a house fire that claimed the life of a fourth cat in Bradley, Illinois. The family of seven is staying with relatives after fire rendered the home uninhabitable.

Bradley Fire Chief Jim Baird said the fire started in the kitchen near the stove, but the cause remains under investigation.

[REMINDER: Christmas trees are often bone-dry and flammable at this point. Keep them away from heating vents, candles and any other ignition sources. Better yet, dispose of them.]
