Next on The Scoop:

Most all of us have either experienced or heard stories of pets shuttled off to the pound when Grandma dies. Maybe she has no family, or her relatives can’t be bothered to care for or find homes for her pets.

Never assume that someone in your family will automatically adopt Fluffy when you die. The only way to guarantee that Fluffy will be cared for exactly as you wish is to set up a Pet Trust as part of your estate planning process.

Don’t dismiss the idea because you’re “too young” to have a will or a trust. Stuff happens, and you never know when your time will come.

If you’ve put off setting up a Pet Trust because of the cost, you’re in luck. This week, Pet News and Views (a blog you should have bookmarked, btw) is giving away FIVE Pet Trusts, each of which is valued at $289.

So stop what you’re doing, jump over there and enter. It’ll take less than a minute and it’s one of the nicest things you can do for your pets.
