I wrote a letter to Santa Paws this morning as my Maumi seemed sad over the events that took place yesterday at a Connecticut Elementary school. You see dear furrends, Maumi is an educator and this hit Maumi terribly. So coming from a furmaly of singers, me and the rest of G-CATZ 4 want to sing this for everyone.

Jolly Ole Dear Santa Paws lean your ear this way,
Don’t you purr a single soul what I have to say.
Christmas Eve is coming soon now you dear old cat,
Purr to me what you will bring please let’s have a chat.

Menes wants a mousie toy,
Baby wants a treat.
Pretty Girl wants cat nip joy,
She thinks toys are neat.

As for me dear Santa Paws,
My wish is for the best.
To give to all dear Santa Paws,
Peace for all the rest.

Peace to everyone this season and forever. God bless the souls that were taken too soon.

A Great Idea

Natalie at C&D had a great idea of a Christmas card exchange. Several years ago we exchanged cards and had a fun time doing so. We met so many nice furmalies, human and furs. Maumi had a place in our living room where she put them in a Christmas Wreath. We received cards from Colorado, Oklahoma, New Jersey and some here in Virginia.

If anyone would like to be added to the exchange, please leave your Mom's and/or Dad's name and street address and the names of your entire furmaly either in my diary, my Pmail or Pmail Natalie at:
http://www.dogster.com/dogs/449767

It is so fun to see where the cards come from.

Sandy, You've Warn Out Your Welcome

What a day we have had today. Maumi has been home with us all day, doing school work. It has poured rain all day and I sneaked out on my deck and wished I hadn't. It was dry in the middle of the deck, so I thought it was dry elsewhere. What a shockwhen I got my feet wet when I pounced on the railing. The wind nearly blew me off and my fur got very wet. I dashed back inside before Maumi could catch me. Because of the high winds, Maumi is concerned about all the trees in our woods. We can hear a constant hum in the tree tops that surround the house and we have seen the tall pines twist and bend in the wind. There is a tree that leans toward the house that is on the west side of the house, and it is way too close. There is no flooding at the time at our house, and so far we still have power. Everytime there is a high wind gust, Menes runs around the basement apartment like a crazy cat, PRetty Girl hides and Baby 'meows' loudly. The rain is falling harder and harder now, which is causing Dad to pace around looking for leaks. He thinks he has found one on the north west corner of the house. We hope everyone weathers the storm with little damage. Our lights are flickering now so I will stop writing. We may be losing power. Purrss and huggs to everyone in her path. Sandy, you have worn out your welcome.

I Was Tagged!!!

I was tagged by my friend ♥ Paris Dreamette #27b. Here are my answers and I am so sorry I didn't post sooner, but Maumi has been back to school for several weeks and has been working hard getting her room ready and planning for students.

She asked Me, "Who are you really?"

1) Tell me your funny Christmas story.
Cali and Tigger told me their Christmas Story of Mr.Scrooge when I was a wee kit, and I hid in the Christmas tree for fear the ghosts would get me.

2) Where's your favorite hiding place when playing hide and go seek?
I don't do the hiding. I do the stalking. But when I do hide, I hide on a dining room chair.

3) What did you dream of being as a young kit?
Maumi adopts a snow leopard furmaly every year and she calls me her mini snow leopard. I always thought I would grow up to be Snow Leopard.

4) What's your favorite hobby? Anything goes.
Stalking. I stalk my sisfurs, humans and toys.

5) Whats your one "bad habit" that you love and your Mom hates?
I make an ‘a’,’a’, sound when Maumi puts in dirty or takes out dishes and tableware into the dishwasher.

6) If you could go anywhere in the world where would you go?
I would love to go to Egypt the place of my roots.

7) What is your guilty pleasure? Food, skirts and suits or cars? What?
I love to be brushed and held up for everyone to see me. I love for Maumi to say, 'has anyone seen such a beautiful kitty.'

8) What is your favorite make believe monster? And yes girls, unicorns and fairies are included. Post a pic of this mysterious beast.
I don’t like monsters. They scare me.

9) What is the one dreaded thing you have to do at home? Babysitting, taking baths, entertaining guests....what is your dread?
I have to entertain my brofur Menes when he comes upstairs from the apartment. He thinks he is Pharoah and he is soooo big compared to me. Don't like his attitude.

10) I’m not so sure if Zach and Zoe are going to have coed ships this year or not, but in any case, which ship would you want to be on: Zach’s, or Zoe’s?
Zoe’s. Girls just wanna have fun!!!

I would hold you tight in my paws forever
Never letting you out of my sight

Through life walking together, every lonely mile
We'll climb that mountain paw in paw
Conquering each and every trial

~~ One Vision ~~

Painting our own sunsets, dancing on the stars
Blowing kisses at the moon each night
Catching rainbows from afar

~~ One Wish ~~

If I can have one wish, it would be only you
Holding you forever in these paws
Knowing dreams come true

This marks our second anniversry of the wedding of mt sweet Baba Boy and I. It was such a grand wedding, a double wedding which included my good furrend Kisser and brofur Menes. It was a beautiful wedding, but within a few weeks time, my precious husband, the love of my live, my true endless love, was struck down by a dog, who chased my beloved into a lake, went after him as he was running for his life, and killed him. My sweet Baba, this is for your.

As I gaze up at night’s star filled skies,
I see the glow from your amber eyes.
When in the sky appears God’s bow,
I feel your love begin to grow.

As the breeze falls across your face,
I feel your kiss and warm embrace.
As the sun in the morning begins it rise,
Your love grows stronger, as hours tick by.

My sweet Baba, I miss you so,
When all too soon you had to go.
God called you home, it seemed to be
He needed you more than me.

Two years ago I pledged to thee,
To be loyal and loving for all to see.
Happy Anniversary sweet Angel, my love,
Happy Anniversary my sweet Baba...my Endless Love.

Oh, the Noise......

As you all know me, I am a kitty who absolutely hates noise and didn't care fur strangers around either. However, this summer I have had to get used to the strangers. Every day since Maumi got off from school on her summer break, I have had to contend with strangers outside the house putting in patios. AND NOW....Oh my cat, the noise!!!!! Maumi tried to tell me and my sisfurs Pretty Girl and Baby, not to be afurrraid because it was only giant squirrels. Giant squirrels, my whiskers. If that noise is a giant squirrel, then I am a pig and I shall fly. OMC, I just saw a human on a ladder climb past my window. I'm gone. Bye...

Let's Rock and Roll

We were sure rocking and rolling yesterday around 1 PM but all is safe and sound with minimal damage for a 5.8 earthquake. We live about 30-40 minutes north and east from the epicenter and about 20-30 miles north dn east from the nuclear plant close to the epicenter.

Around 12:15 Maumi came home from school to pick up more materials for her classroom. When she tried to leave a bit after 12:30, I sensed something a foot so backed up to the door trying to keep her from going, when suddenly Pretty Girl and Baby dashed upstairs. It was my job to keep Maumi safe but she didn't listen. She told me 'don't worry Bastet, girls, Maumi will be back in a few hours." Then she closed the door, got in her car and drove back to school. I was frantic to see Maumi go as I watched her through the side windows by the door.

Maumi must have just gottend to school when it began. The noise was terrible, the shaking starting and I hid under the twin bed in my kitten room. I heard things falling in the closets, that is where Pretty Girl was hiding. She dashed out and I let her lay by me. We heard a terrible crash in the garage. I heard the medicine cabinets in the bathrooms upstairs creak open. Pretty Girl and I just hoped Maumi was safe.

Maumi came home around 2:30 and was pretty calm but Baby, Pretty Girl and I were still shaken. We could still feel shaking going on and weren't sure we were safe.

When Maumi checked the house, she found that Dad's stack of old bowling balls in the boxes had toppled to the floor, the car jack had rolled from the walls, and brooms, rakes, hoes, all hanging lawn equipment had fallen. There were some pictures and candle holders on the wall that had fallen, and some boxes in the closets on the floor. Everything that was still hanging on the walls not toggled to the walls, was crooked.

Maumi is off from school today and students will return from summer break tomorrow. But she has to take Dad to the doctor. During the earthquake, Dad was rushing to get somewhere safe and did something to his right knee and doesn't remember what what he did. He can't drive a car, bend it, and the pain is excrutiating to walk. He is using Maumi's cane from her injury to walk.

We were very fortunate that there is no serious damage or injury. I remain on alert because of the aftershocks. The biggest one last night aroudn 8:00 PM a little of 4.0. Maumi and Dad were talking to nighbors outside and felt that. We are fine and hope everyone else is as well.

'Coons' on the Loose

What an experience I had last evening, one Maumi wished she was able to photograph, but it was too dark. For the first time in my life, I saw a racoon. Not one, but two. Maumi, Dad and I were lounging on the deck just before dark and I spied them sneaking verrryy stealthily up one of our woodland paths. I sat like a lion and did my little 'hum' which alerted Maumi that something was up. She asked Dad what was behind her in the yard. Dad said it looked like a cat. But when Maumi turned around, she saw 2 'coons'. She grabbed my leash as I started to dart off the deck. You know, if Miss Kitty were alive she would have gotten those 'coons.' But Maumi stopped me before I could do just that. Dad said, "It's about time we went inside." So we did. But I stayed alert. And do you know a few minutes later those brasen 'coons' were on MY lounge chair eating out of our bird feeder. Standing as tall as my short self could, I kept looking out the door, to show those 'coons' they better get off MY lounge or I was coming to get them. When Maumi kneeled beside me, one turned and looked us straight in our faces.

When Menes' Dad pulled up in the drive, those moocher 'coons' left, at least temporarily. Maumi told Mene's Dad about them and I told Menes about them. Maumi said Menes needed to stay in, and his Dad agreed. But Menes had another thought. He told me he wanted to get those 'coons.' He was the man of the furmaly and would protect us. But Menes' dad kept him inside. So Menes all night remained vigilant in his apartment windows and I remained downstairs, pacing back and forth looking out my windows. Several times those 'coons' came back and I heard Menes 'howl' loudly and throw himself against the window to scare them away.

*Big Yawn* I am going back to bed so I can get some sleep. What an eventful night, staying awake and trying to save the family from'coons' on the loose.
