Not being able to go outside. Her collar, she is on her fourth one.

Balls, especially the soft "pom-pom" ones at first. Now, she only wants live prey! She loves anything belonging to the boy. She acts like his shoes are catnip!!

She loves to sleep with the boy, or in his stuff. With Mom, and Dad.

Tuna steak, crunchy cat treats. Canned catfood most of all.

indoors and outdoors

Arrival Story:
Zoey was born in the Central Valley, about 5 hours from here. Her mother was a feral cat. A co-workers mother took care of them, provided shelter, food and water. Fur mother Dipstick aka Miss Kitty took good care of them, even litter trained them. She let people handle the kittens, so they were tame. Zoey is the 2nd out of the three kittens. Originally named Duo, she is the second smallest. But, she is mighty. She has emerged as the alpha-cat. She is a natual hunter, if they were still feral, she would probably provide for everyone. I had to put a charm on her little critters collar (smallest size)-it is of a pink skull and crossbones, with rhinestone eyes. She is a tough cookie. Very colorful, she is the picture of her mother. A calico point. Muted orange, and almost lilac gray spots on her mask and ears. Tail is orange, blending into gray stripes. She has some smoky patches on her back and sides, sometimes they look very dark. Her coat seems to change almost every time I look at her. She has blue eyes, very clear and arresting. Her meow is loud, and raspy for such a dainty little thing. She is the voice of litter. The night before everyone got spayed and neutered, I took up the food and water as directed. At about 4 am, I was woken up by her cries. She meowed a long meow walking over to where the food should be, looking up at me, nodding her head. One day, I was rushing in the morning, and glanced at their bowl in the dim light. It appeared full. Ms. Zoey walked over, and was "burying" her food in front of me. I turned on the light, and the bowl was black with ants. She meowed loudly at me, as if to say, "Hey, our food is icky, Mom". She is the most independent of the litter. But, she wants petting, she gets it. Zoey also knew when Dad was sick. She sat up with him all night, and when I checked on him, she meowed loudly at me, a very accusing tone, looking concerned, and upset.

Bio:
She can be a menace, but she really means well. She dumped over the beta fish (he survived). Some of my potted plants were dug up and scattered. I know she really wants to go outside. She is outside now that she is grown, only during daylight. Uno used to rat her out when she climbs over fence or on the roof. She actually "brought" a feral cat into our house, meowing at me beseechingly. They made friends through the screen doors. She does the bird "chattering"-they are tormenting her. She has caught a couple, and brought them alive to me. She can handle a houseful of young boys, even hanging out by the pool-she chews on the boy's stuff, even swim fins! She is protective, almost jumping on the cable guy from above when he was in the house. Our cats totally freaked him out! I just love my little princess, she is one of the most unique, intelligent cats I have ever known.

Zoey, this year has been hard on you cats..Mom being so busy with three new grandbabies. The last was born a few weeks after your birthday.
Mom has had to go away for days at a time, and be gone all day at work or taking care of babies.
She comes home smelling like babies and other cats, or the dog and bird....
You always stop what you are doing when Mom comes home. You are so sweet and beautiful and loving.
Mom is worried you are not getting enough attention.
Mom loves the exclusive, spontaneous "Bathroom Kitty" performances. Always beautiful, unique and very artistic.
The towel thing with Uno was hilarious, by the way. At 4 am yet.

You are loved, baby girl.

Dad told Mom on me.

A while back, Uno let me out one night. That one door is easy to open, the others are stuck shut most of the time.

Anyhoo, there was a big RACCOON in the backyard, again. They
bother Uno, knocking on the windows, flaunting their freedom, etc.

It saw Dad and was retreating (Mom says, HA). I chased it over a fence with vines growing on it. Dad grabbed me and brought me in the house. I LET him catch me, of course. I was tired of him calling me and rattling treats. Mom slept through the whole thing, until Dad let it slip the other day after the OPOSSOM incident.

I am a "dayshift" animal, Mom says. I really love being outside at twilight, and at night. Especially when it is warm.

Mom takes up the food in the afternoon, so that I will be starving in the evening. I come in to eat, and then I am stuck inside.

Sigh

Well, the boy was in the water room, in the closet that rains. He was hollering about something, so I came out and alerted Mom and Dad, meowing loudly, and beckoning them to follow me. The deaf humans finally heard him.
BTW, my name is not Lassie!

Some thanks, shortly after that, Dad put more bells on me. Drats!
Everytime my bells ring, all the birds will take wing.

Close encounters of the opossum kind

Last night, Uno kindly let me out after dark. A HUGE rat was eating the wild cat's food. Mom heard me coming, and scared him off, right into my path. I let mom catch me and my ginormus puffy tail.
I did purr and act sweet towards her....

Oh, and this morning, I fell into the big waterbowl that is wasting space in the side yard. Mom heard me, and ran out. I just got my hiney and tail wet, but still I was embarassed and cold. I got wrapped in a towel, and dried in no time.
Not as bad as when I fell into the human's litterbox waterbowl thing.
I had to have a BATH, and it was cold out, even in the house with the heater on.

Dad was teasing mom, saying that I was going to pack a "kerchief?"
and run away for the weekend.
I don't think so. I need to keep an eye on everyone here.
