Brown Tabby

Arrival Story:
I was a scared hungry kitten about to give up when this lady picked me up and took me to a warm house. I was so sick though, the humans didn't think I was going to make it but the nice lady fed me baby food and cleaned my butt for me. I couldn't clean my butt myself and it was getting sore and red. I was so skinny the food tasted so good but I could only eat a bit at a time. The lady was so nice and caring and soon I was cleaning myself and using the litterbox again. It was sooo nice to not be hungry all the time and not have my butt burning. The nice lady was trying to find me a home but it is really hard to find kitties a home since there are so many that aren't as lucky as me. The nice lady talked to her Mom about me and guess what, the nice lady's Mom adopted me!! I was so happy I sat in her lap all the time.

I am so happy to be alive and warm. When Mom brings a kitten home I like to make it feel welcome by grooming it. Sometimes I even let them suckle on me even though I'm male. I like all my feline and canine siblings, it is just good to be alive.

Thank you Willow ( for my beautiful wings.

Thank you to all the kitties who gave me stars and rosettes. Mom still looks through my pictures not quite accepting that I'm over the bridge. I have to take special care with her so she isn't quite so sad.

RIP sweet kitty

Prognosis is grave, Chessie has FIP

For those who aren't familiar with FIP

"Feline Infectious Peritonitis (FIP) is a severe disease of domestic cats and some exotic cats. It does not affect non-feline species, such as dogs. It is caused by a coronavirus.

The incubation period is controversial. In experiments with the virus, cats will develop the disease within two weeks of infection. In household situations, it appears that the virus may be dormant in some cats for several months, or even years, before the disease occurs."

"The prognosis for a cat with FIP is very poor. Once a reasonably reliable presumptive diagnosis has been made, euthanasia is often the most appropriate course of action."

I am filled with grief that this very loving cat will have so short a life.

I am waiting for a call from the vet today but I already know the outcome.
