What an Adventure

I thought it might be cool to explore the outdoors on March 18th when some human left the front door to my house wide open. Little did I know there would be so many sounds and sights to behold! Somehow I got scared off and now I can't find my way back home.

I am tired, hungry and don't like all the scary things out here. There are creatures I never imagined existed, like lizards and insects of all kinds and birds and squirrels and a family of deer that come down from the hillside. There are other cats too, and dogs of every shape and size. Lots of humans, more than I have ever seen at Mom's parties. Garbage men. Cars. Gardeners. Wow, what a world!

It gets so cold at night. My cold intolerance is not dealing well with it.

I miss Mom so very much. But I have to hide. It's built in. I hope that I can get home soon and snuggle in bed with Mom like I have always done. Oh, to sit in her lap and lean my back against her check with her hugging me. We could stay like that for hours.

Don't give up on me, Mom! I love and miss you and everything there is at home. I'll find you or you'll find me and we'll be so happy together again.

Happy Summer!

I just wanted to wish everyone a happy summer filled with long, luxurious naps, yummy treats, lots of birds and other flying things to chase (although I can only chase them from the other side of the glass), and lots of love from your humans! My mom just got back from Hawaii and although she's sad to be back in town, I am thrilled! She's been spending more time indoors on the weekends because she started drawing again. I think her drawings are nice, but mostly, I love being able to sit next to her and give her head butts as often as I can. I also offer constructive criticism when she's working on a piece. We get to hang out in the nice cool townhouse on the hottest days (we've had days over 100 degrees in the last week), so I am a very happy boy!

Happy Easter, everyone!

It's such an awesome day today! The sun is shining, and mom is doing her New York City Ballet workout (on DVD) here at home! I have recently accepted the position of private fitness trainer and I see to it that she practices proper form (always important, but especially with ballet) and gives me attention. I don't do ballet myself (come on, I'm a guy cat, puh-leez!), but Pilates is okay even though it has a funny name and has some elements of ballet in it. Mom says she's trying to prevent her rear end from being pulled into the dreaded abyss of time and gravity, but I think she's being silly. Be as it may, I am happy to be her personal trainer and will accept any forms of canned food, tuna, or Pounce treats as payment for services rendered.

Hurrah for the Rain!

Mom came home early today because of the rain. Sophie and I both know that she hates to drive, and she also hates the rain. If she's not locked into a meeting or work, she'll change her plans on a rainy day and spend it with us. I am in heaven! She's trying to do some work that looks pretty important, with lots of numbers and stuff, but I am determined to get the maximum amount of lap time today! The rain sounds really nice, and there's thunder and lightning (they don't scare me that much), and my mom's lap is super warm and comfy. I hope it rains all week!

Dental Hell

Mom took me to the vet the other day. I was duped, man! She snuck out of bed and woke me up a half hour later to put me in that dungeon of a carrier. She gave me lots of kisses and apologized for taking me in for a teeth cleaning, but I was miffed. I know my breath was pretty stinky (Mom started calling me Ass Breath recently), but please! Anyway, I guess I survived the ordeal, even when they took out one of my precious teeth. It's worked out well, because I have gotten yummy wet food for the last three days! Score!

My Pilates workout

I saw mom getting ready to do her Pilates workout and got so excited. I mean, my mom is very much into exercise and likes to keep in shape. But what about me? I am naturally svelte and handsome, but I could use a little exercise so that I don't lose my edge. I know if I could actually meet some feline females, they'd swoon, but alas, I am an indoor cat.
Mom usually likes to do her weight workout at the gym, so I rarely get the chance to work out with her. But today Mom decided to exercise at home! I helped her stay focused on her abs by jumping on her belly, but I also got a bit of a workout just trying to stay on while she tried her best to exercise. She kept throwing me off, though! It became somewhat of a game...I'd jump on her belly, then she'd throw me off, then the process would be repeated. So I changed my strategy...I started my snuggly thing that she can't resist where I lean back against her and gaze up into her eyes...she is SUCH a sucker for that. It worked! She stopped the routine and we had some snuggly time. But then, after about ten minutes, she went back to that darned Pilates routine. This time, I figured that maybe the Pilates thing wasn't the best for me and I stayed out of it until Mom was done. As soon as she was done, though, I was back on her lap, where I belong!
