Bertie is now 17 and a half years old. He is still happy, but has now been in chronic renal failure for a couple of years. His weight has dropped to 3.3kg, and he is a little unsteady on his back paws, but otherwise he still enjoys playing with his catnip rainbow and watching the world from the sofa

In Autumn 2010 Bertie was diagnosed with chronic renal failure, to add to his heart condition and bladder stones. We were very worried about him, but in the last year, his various tests results have remained stable, and he has continued to be a happy cat.

Xmas card 2010

This card alludes to the fact that Anne was stranded in Berlin during the ash cloud. After 6 days, she was flown home in a tiny Cessna plane, which took 6 hours from Berlin to Ramsgate, and had to refuel on the way! But by then she would have hung on to the wing....
Thanks as always to Steve of Kingsley Photographic, London W1, for producing the Bertie Xmas card!

Bertie has had his portrait drawn and is now proudly displayed on the wall. He thinks it is a very good likeness.

Steve at Kingsley's Photographic (London W1) has again worked wonders with my Christmas photo! Many thanks! (and if you look carefully you can see he even added his own Xmas stocking!)

This year's major event was Anne's foot operation in the summer, which resulted in the Aircast boot becoming a feature of our lives.
Anne's birthday present was to be a Zookeeper for a Day, at London Zoo, during which she got to feed the giraffes (as you can just see on the Xmas photo).
