Arrival Story:
Halftone used to be the shop cat at my old job. He was the "PR Manager" for a printing company - hence the name Halftone. My boss rescued him on his way to work one morning, he was a tiny little guy about 4 months old. As he grew up he had full run of the shop and lived there 24/7 except for holidays, when went home with an employee. All was going well for Halftone, but he was living in a printing plant with lots of hazards. Over the course of 6 months, there was a series of events that made me decide that he might be safer at home. He had his white "Mitts" painted green with a permanent magic marker; he was outside chasing bugs and was stung on his lower lip by a bee. And finally, he came home one weekend with me and could not stop drooling & foaming at the mouth. I took him to the vet and I was told that he had been poisoned. The vet said that he probably had gotten into something wandering around the plant. The vet gave him several shots and we took him was home for lots of R & R. He did not go back to work after that experience; Halftone quit his job at the printing plant and became our housemate.

Bio:
Since then Halftone has lived a quiet happy life in our home with his pesky bro - Ezra Lusk. He doesn't have normal cat grooming habits, only cleaning small square patches on his back or side. We have to use cat wipes to clean him up occasionally because his fur gets all greasy and separates. He is a huge fan of Animal Planet, the local morning news, and he has recently discovered that he enjoys watching movies on our new sofas. Yeah a smart move, white sofas and two Tuxedos that like to get into the Fireplace. Halftone has a wristwatch that only he can see. This is the only way we can account for the fact that he can tell time within 5 minutes of the breakfast or dinner hour, it's uncanny how accurate he can be! We like to refer to him as the Gladys Kravitz of the neighborhood he's very nosy. UPDATES... Lives - 7 left. This past fall Halftone had really, really bad tuna breath. The thing is he always has bad kitty breath since he eats mostly wet food. I tried to brush his teeth once and well that wasn't a positive experience for either of us. Anyways, I noticed that his upper lip on the right side of his face was swollen. I decided to take him to the vet to get his mouth checked out. I figured at the very least he would need his teeth cleaned. The vet took one look at Tony without opening his mouth and said that he had an abscessed tooth, which needed to be removed. All went well thank goodness and we picked up the big boy later that evening. In talking to the doctor about the procedure he mentioned that the tooth was in such bad shape that he feared that the infection might have gotten into his bloodstream. A bottle of pink bubble gum antibiotic later and Tony is great. His tuna breath is surprisingly fresh these days.

Well the little bro has made an unbelievable recovery! Yesterday he was cooking in the hammock - fever of 103.2, not eating or drinking, poopie problems, driving the purrents crazy with worry. Well sometime around 9 pm he started feeling better because he tried to beat me up all for trying to lay down next to the Mom.

Ezra also got to stay in the hammock all day by himself today with the flat screen turned in his direction...geez.

Well I am not much for the diary entries but wanted all our kitty furiends to know that Ezra is not feeling well.

He has a fever and green gooey eyes. He was just finishing up a round of medicine for his bladder and now this.

I guess he will be going to the VET tomorrow if his fever doesn't go down. He did eat a little bit of food but the Mom said he isn't drinking much water.

I know she is worried that I might get sick too. I will try to keep you all updated.
