Nicknames:
Ruby, Roobles, Ruby!-Shut-Up!, Possum, Taco-Bell Dog (mostly used by unknowing cable and telephone company persons)

Quick Bio:
-purebred

Likes:
Standing on top of something high and yelling for your attention.

Pet-Peeves:
A closed door is a bad door. And don't even think of not letting her under the blankets with you.

Favorite Toy:
Bottle caps..........must have bottle caps.

Favorite Nap Spot:
Wherever the sun is shining, or on whatever you are reading.

Favorite Food:
Ruby loves to lick beer from the inside of a bottle neck. Must be good beer, too. She is a bit of snob. Any other time and her favorite food is whatever you are eating. Having chicken? Make her an extra piece. Ditto for fish.

Skills:
Plays fetch with bottlecaps. Otherwise, she has the loudest voice of any cat I have ever met.

Dwells:
indoors

Arrival Story:
My ex and I wanted a cat, but her allergies were made much worse by some meds that she was on at that time. I had read that some people could tolerate Cornish Rexes because of there being less hair about, so I was looking into them. I found the "Retired Friend's" website, and saw that a breeder the next state over had a cat listed. We traveled to meet Phyllis when she was at a show with some of her other cats, and in conversing, she thought we might be good for this other cat she had - Ruby. Turned out, Ruby had been returned to her after a nasty divorce, and had been neglected for some time, perhaps six months, by the guy, who had kept her in the bathroom only most days since she has a nervous stomach and throws up when upset. When returned to Phyllis, she just sat in the bathroom all day and yelled, and when she ventured out the other cats just sort of beat up on her. So Ruby was not a happy camper and needed a fresh start with people who could show her lots of attention. I was back in school at the time – home a lot, and we had no cats so she would be the focus of our attention. From the first day, Ruby adopted my ex as her mom; I was just another large playmate, albeit one who had the magical ability to open cans of catfood. But she did come along rather quickly, and in short order was very out of her shell and on her way to feline mental health.

Bio:
Ruby is the step-sibling of Sarah, Zoe and Abbot(t). She now lives with my ex in Las Vegas, but did stay here in Seattle for a couple of months while my ex moved from Brooklyn to Nevada.
