Arrival Story:
Teddy was owner-surrendered to our local OSPCA at the tender age of 8 mo. old. Teddy had only been at the shelter for 3 weeks when we found him. His beautiful markings and naughty intelligence attracted us to him (He had learned how to open the kennel door lock!). At first the shelter told us that he was in fairly good health, and that he was nearing the end of his upper respiratory virus; but after just 24 hours of being home, Teddy became very sick and stopped eating. We rushed him to our vet who told us he had borderline pneumonia and a secondary eye infection. Almost two months of antibiotics later, Teddy was finally in good health. After all of the hardships that our little boy has been through, last year we learned from our vet that Teddy has a mild heart murmur. Although not serious, it is a concern for us. We love him dearly and he is such a part of our family. We spoil him rotten and he only gets the best.

When Teddy first arrived in our home, it was then shared by our wonderful little Guinea Pig Annie. At first cautious; Teddy soon realized that she was his older "sister", and began to look for her whenever we mentioned her name. Teddy and Annie kept eachother company; with Ted often spending hours ontop of her cage. When our Annie passed to Rainbow Bridge in April of 2006, we know that even Teddy missed her presence. For the next few weeks he seemed puzzled as to why she wasn't in her cage. Teddy is still the only one right now, but we know that he will make a great older "brother" someday to our next little member.

Summer here wasn't as hot as last, so we didn't need to have that noisy thing on that the servants call an 'air conditioner'.. Yuck. The bird watching has been great, and the bug catching.. out of this world! I caught so far this summer: one cricket, two or more spiders (which they don't mind me catching), a few flies and some assorted beetles... I still don't know why they find it gross, but I guess their palate isn't as sensitive as a cat's...
Soon they'll have to take out my winter blankies, in preparation for that white stuff, but other than that I'm enjoying my days lounging around.
Well.. I made sure that my servants posted this little update for you all.. and I'll be sure to post of my exciting adventures next month.

It's been quite a while since I've pawed at my owners (ahem, servants) to write a new diary entry for me; so I'm personally taking a scratch at this one.

Well since I last had an entry, I've celebrated my 4th birthday, sunbathed in the warm weather, met a few dogs and even a snake (I'll explain that one later) and overall enjoyed being a lazy Tabby.

There was some commotion around the house a couple of weeks ago, when a so called "stray" dog was picked up by my servants (although it didn't look that stray to me!). I'm glad to report that it's rightful owners were found and the dog is not living in my home... :)

Then our next door neighbour brought over his pet for show and tell the other day... (Teddy's note: I'm glad this wasn't a stray...) It was a ball python named Lady *icky* and luckily for me, it wasn't brought into the house. Why they were interested in seeing THAT.. I'll never know...

So other than these few points of note, not much has happened around our household...

So, I will honestly try to make them more disciplined at writing my diary entries, and hopefully this won't happen again!

Thank you all for reading my diary entry....

Ok... I keep saying this all the time, but I have to seriously keep on my servants to ensure that all of my Catster friends and fanciers will get all of the updated scoop on me!

The birds have been coming back in droves, and it's driving me crazy! I am spending most of my possible sleeping time watching those darn birds! A handsome guy like me needs at least 20-22 hours of sleep a day to look this good... (Servants note: Yes, he does think he's this handsome!)

Well I don't have too much to say for now...

Thank you friends and amigos for reading.... Mew! meow! squeak!
