It Works!

Thanks to Buddie and all the kitties included, for my "Buddie's Well Wisher's Healing Rosette"! I really appreciate it and need it. I am doing better. I still am getting a steroid eye drop twice a day, and some ointment in my left eye to keep the fur of my lid from turning inward...and it all seems to be working well. My eyes are no longer sunken in, and I am eating and drinking well. I am not dehydrated anymore.

I even have the energy to play with my rabbit fur mice, and to wake up the humans to feed me every morning. I wasn't doing either of those things for awhile.

Thanks Buddie and all the catster kitties who are wishing me well. I can feel your love and support, and am sending you catster cats and Buddie LOVE, LOVE, LOVE!

Good Days...Bad Days... you know I've had my share

Sorry to take so long to update you all on my health. I am in the middle of my Adequan shots, 2 more weeks to go. Mom got some liquid buprenorphine to give me on the days I don't look so good (very sunken in eyes) and mom is concerned that I am in pain. If these shots don't seem to help, mom may try to get an MRI for me. I am eating well and drinking. I love milk, but usually throw it up, so mom got me skim milk, and I love it and keep it down. I don't want to end up dehydrated again and have to go the vet for THAT. I HATE GOING TO THE VET! HATE IT! HATE IT! WAAAAHHHH!

P.S. I am a very bad patient, and I hate taking my liquid pain medication, too. I have eye drops for my sunken eyes too, and can't stand to have them put in either. Mom is upset with me, because it's like I don't want anyone to help me get better. Not the vet, not mom, no one. I am one cantankerous kitty! Mom is afraid that I am hurting myself more by all the struggling and fighting and squirming I do to try to get away from her when she needs to give me these things. What can I say, it's just the way I am.

Dehydrated!

Well, the vet did a blood test and found I was dehydrated, so they gave me some SQ fluids, and an injection of Butorphanol. I am still supposed to start on the Adequan Monday, but it seems that we are assuming my problem is arthritis, but I don't really have a firm diagnosis. Mom is wondering if I should get an MRI, that it might show more of what might be going on. My symptoms came on suddenly, (my sunken eyes, limping, and sagging skin), and not slowly like in my sisfur Ceylon, who, year by year, mom could see she was having problems walking and jumping. Mom is still concerned about me being in pain, and doesn't know if the Adequan will be enough as a treatment. Please keep purring for me, that the vet will find out exactly what is wrong with me so that I can be treated accordingly. Thank you kitties.

Going to the Vet NOW!

Mom is taking me to the vet this afternoon. She is very worried about me. My skin is sagging all around me, and my sunken eyes are worse. I am limping bad on the front left paw. Mom was going to wait til monday to start me on Adequan, but now is going to see if I am dehydrated. Please purr for me, and send my mom some strength. She never realized how weak she is in the face of one of her kitties being sick.

I am sick and going on Adequan

I have been limping around alot for the last two weeks, and my eyes have sunken in.My left especially was worse and you could see my third eyelid. I went to the vet where they did a senior panel blood work, tested me for Valley Fever and did a cornea stain to see if my left eye was scratched. All those tests came back good...no scratch, no Valley Fever, all my blood work was excellent. So...then I had a whole series of x-rays done, and they found two different places in my vertebrae that are fused together. And I have a bone chip or something or other in my back left thigh socket. Anyway...the vet suggested to take a treatment of Adequan for 4 weeks, twice a week. Has any other kitty been on this, and has it helped. Please let me know, and please purr for me that this will help me.

Old MacDonald HAD a farm...but I kind of destroyed it

Well...Mom sent ME to the FARM for my summer vacation. She thought it would be a good learning experience for me...but..not really!

I went to see some farmer called "MacDonald', he was real nice, and had a HUGE farm and I was so excited to check it out! I kind of ran amuck, though! First, I checked out the hen house, and saw tons of eggs! I figured I would get a closer look and jumped up onto them and SMASH...cracked them all into one, big, gooey mess! Then this really nasty rooster chased me out the hen house, pecking and squawking at me to never come back!
So then I went over to see...pigs! Old MacDonald had just cleaned them all up after they had been playing in the mud, but when they saw me running over to them, they all freaked out and ran all through the mud again! And then, OH BOY(!), one big one knocked over Old Mac! He was NOT HAPPY, falling into all that mud.

So...I high tailed it out of THERE and went to see the goats! They were really friendly and wanted to impress me, so they showed me how they knock out Old Mac's window panes in the farm house. They just jump up against the window pane with their hooves and CRASH...all the window panes shatter! They were having great fun showing me this, when Old Mac showed up! One of the really big goats ( a Nubian) they have really cool eyes, went and snuck up behind Old Mac and butted him! This couldn't be good so I got out of there quick!

I ran off and figured I better stay out of trouble, so I went to visit the tractor and jumped up on it and kind of turned it on and it sort of started and went in the direction of the farm house and...oh well, you can kind of guess what happened...
Mom said NO MORE VACATIONS FOR ME... :-(

Whoa...Scary!

Mom finally got a picture of me in mid-yawn, and boy is it ever scary! (See my new picture). Mom says I look like a cross between one of the band members of KISS and a Kabuki mask! Now she knows why I don't like my picture taken! It is kind of freaky! Oh well, I can use it as my Halloween picture for sure!
