Arrival Story:
I went to the Flying J Truck Stop to get fuel. The employees knew me & told me there was a kitten out in the bushes. I made several attempts to entice the kitten, which appeared to be about 8 weeks old. There was no getting that kitten in any conventional way. He was definitely ferral. Finally an employee & I got him in a corner & I threw a towel over him. I put him in my car & the 3 1/2 miles home were pure de mess. I finally got a towel over him to get him into the house. I just let him go in our back room. I put in a litter box & water. Each day I took in food. After about a month he would come out & eat while I was in the room if I stayed far away. Then he allowed me to sit nearer & nearer. Eventually he allowed me to touch him. After about 5 years, he became very affectionate to me. Around age seven, he started letting others see him briefly (my mystery cat). Now at age 9 he sometimes shows himself when others are around.

Bio:
His name, Imani, is Swahili for "Faith". I named him Imani in faith that he would eventually enjoy life. He does. Imani does have Irritable Bowel Syndrome (vet's best guess). He sometimes runs thru the house & makes loud noises that seem to be indications of pain. As he runs, he poops; sometimes diarrhea, sometimes hard knots. He eats special food & plenty of grass. And it is happening less often. Mainly, I wish I could comfort him when it happens, but he seems to want no one near him.

Poop

Yesterday was a hard day. I got this terrible pain in my belly. I tried to run away from it. Ran thru the house crying. I couldn't seem to get away from it. It followed me where ever I went. What is this thing inside of me that I can't get away from. Then I began to poop while running. It felt like concrete blocks pushing out of me. It really hurt, so I ran away from it faster & faster. Finally it seemed to be over. I lay still & waited, breathing hard. Was it going to come back? It usually goes away for weeks. I hope it does this time. Mom is calling me, but I just don't want anything to do w/ anyone right now. I am exhausted & even tho she wants to love me, I can't handle it right now. I sure hope it's over for awhile.

I was just laying around under the bush today & MOM sprayed me w/ water. She claims she didn't mean to. Said she was watering the bushes & didn't know I was there. Not sure I believe her. She is always trying to brush me, cut my nails, all that silly stuff. Well, we made it thru it. I was able to go back out & enjoy the day w/out any more sprays.
Had a good dinner. Mom has rubbed my ears & neck & I am content. Almost time for bed & time for me to lay on mom's belly & make biscuits.
Good Night all.
