Hey everybody! Sorry I haven't written in a while. I've been busy lying around in the backyard, soaking up all the sunlight I can before it gets getting colder!

Ishtar tagged me! Thanks Ishtar! Now I'll write 7 facts about myself and then tag 7 of my friends.

2. I absolutely LOVE to hunt!! It's my favourite thing in the world! I can't hunt that much anymore because my human keeps me on a leash :( but I can still sneak in a catch once in a while!

2. I am drop-dead beautiful. No doubt about it.

3. I know a few tricks! My best one is scratching my scratching post on cue, but the more traditional tricks I know are -- Beg, Paw, Sit, and C'mere (come). My human is currently teaching me Down (lie down). Oh, and just a note...I don't do the tricks for my human. I do it all for the FOOD!

4. I love food...food is a wonderful blessing!! Especially fresh warm bird or mouse...mmmmmmm.

5. I love exploring boxes, closets, and dark spaces.

6. When the dog tries to play with me, I give her a good hard smack on the muzzle, with claws unsheathed! Muahahaha!

7. I have borderline hyperthyroidism (borderline means that it is very, very mild). I was diagnosed when I was 12. However, a better diet (a mix of Fromm Four-Star dry food and Innova EVO dry food) has saved my life and now I am purrfectly healthy!

I tagged Valentino, Tigga, Izzy, Pepsi, Bella, Zory, and Simone!

The BIRD KILLER!!

I never told you guys! In June something VERY exciting happened.

I...

...CAUGHT A BIRD!!

A robin to be exact!

Okay, here's what happened. My human let me outside in the backyard and walked over to clip the leash onto my collar. She was shocked to see me leaping in the air next to the house to grab a robin in my claws! Another robin flew away and sat on the fence. the robin's wings fluttered feebly as it tried to get away, but I held it firmly in the mouth. I walked away a bit and just stood there, gripping the bird tightly in my jaws, until it went limp after a couple of minutes. Then I placed it onto the ground and pawed at it to make sure it was really dead. and, of course it was. :)

My human walked over and carefully knelt down. She decided that the robin was a female because of its pale colours, and said that she was definitely dead. (Well as if I didn't know that already!) She was a bit upset by the "poor dead bird" but she couldn't have done anything to save it.

And then...I got to EAT!

My human didn't really want to watch me eat the bird up close, so she went inside the house and peered out at me once in a while from the window. It was a pretty big robin, so I didn't put the whole thing in my mouth at once like how I do with mice. I ripped the biggest feathers off the bird first so I wouldn't have to eat them. Then, I tore into the warm flesh.

Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh.........DELIGHT!

It was the MOST EXTRAORDINARY thing I have EVER EATEN!

I'll spare you the details, but it was just so wonderful, the warm taste of flesh and the beautiful fragrance.......mmmmmmmmm!

After I finished eating the bird (yes, the WHOLE ENTIRE bird!) I licked my lips and began to groom myself. All that was left of the bird was the few big wing feathers -- I had eaten everything else of the bird. Yes, it's true! Feathers, legs, head, and all!

My human felt bad for the bird and also for its mate (she presumes) who was perched on the fence the entire time calling for her, but I didn't feel bad at all. The whole experience was just wonderful, grand, amazing, perfect!

I just LOVE being a hunter. I've still got it in me, even at fourteen years old!

The case of the missing donut

Yesterday, my human's mom bought half a dozen donuts. My human's brother had a donut, and my human had a donut. So, there were four donuts left...or so they thought! My human left the donut box open after she ate her donut. As my human and her mom were watching a movie together, my human went over to the donut box to get another donut for herself...but saw that there were only THREE donuts left! That didn't make any sense!

My human and her mom looked everywhere for the missing donut, all over the floor and the kitchen, but couldn't find it. My human's mom asked my human's brother if he'd eaten another donut, but he said no. Then my human noticed that there were nibble marks on two of the donuts. She realized...that SHADOW must have eaten the missing donut!! A donut eating cat!!

Vanilla donut with sprinkles. Yummy. :)

Lift up ma paw!

My human is teaching me to lift up some paw for some stupid "human reason". At first she was actually PICKING UP my paw! How RUDE! I tolerated it for a while but then eventually I swatted at her. She kept on persisting -- OUTRAGEOUS! -- and I just CAN'T stand for that, so this time I let out a growl and swatted at her with my claws this time.

When will humans EVER learn?

So now she's not actually picking up my paw, she's just training me to lift it up by myself. Much better, thank you very much!

Big teeter -- success!

I can now walk up the teeter at full height (that's 24" at the pivot point) and walk about halfway into the yellow to tip it (while eating treats) without my human holding the teeter! I can tip it all by myself! A video will be coming soon to PROVE IT! :)

FOOD!

Hi everybody...

My human has been raising the teeter a bit higher for me. I am proud to say that it's now 18" at the pivot point. She's very happy with me, my human that is, because I trot right up the teeter, stop in the middle of the yellow, and then trot off.

Well you know what? The only reason I do it is because I get...

FOOD!!

Delicious cheese that melts in my mouth...or mouth watering hamburger that fills my nostrils with its wonderful aroma....

I really do LOVE FOOD! :D

Fun in the sun!

(I know it's kind of a lame diary title, "fun in the sun", but it's true!)

I've been having lots and lots of fun lying around in the background, dozing in the sun! When it gets too hot I can just lie in the stones among all of the plants my humans grow. Or, I can lie on the chairs under the cool shade of the canopy thingy.

But I absolutely LOVE rolling around under the sun's warmth, exposing my belly to the wonderful BLISS!

Ahhhhhh...I love summer!

Tip the teeter -- pffff no big deal!

Yesterday my human let me tip the teeter on my own, without my human holding it for me. It's about ten inches high at the pivot point right now. I tipped it just fine without flinching or being fazed at all! I don't know how the dog was scared of the teeter last year...it's baby stuff! I let lots of treats when I do it, so I'm happy! :D

More teeter training!

I'm still training on the teeter. Nat has been busy lately, but she's trying to train me as much as possible!

'Vacation'

My human and the dog went on a 'vacation' in July. They had to drive sixteen hours! I think they were crazy to want to do that!

I stayed at my human's relatives' house for nine nights while my human and the dog were on 'vacation'. I got lots of food there, but I still missed being home.

So, now I'm happily back home. I can lie in the sun and hide in the bushes. I can hiss at the dog. And, best of all, I'm back where I belong. Nothing beats home.
