Sunday night, 17 Aug, Zelda came into the bathroom...she always felt my husband needed company when he was in there...and she let out a very strange sounding meow and fell over. He called for me, telling me what happened, so I ran and got the cat bed, lifting her into it gently. My husband went and got my son to come and sit with Zelda in case she wasn't going to make it through the night because she had been with us since she was a 3-week old kitten we rescued. All of us sat with her off and on during the evening until late. We left a candle burning in our bathroom that night in case she needed us and went to bed.
I woke about 4:30 a.m. and Zelda wasn't in the cat bed so I went looking for her, finding her in the spare bathroom, lying on the floor. When I petted her she cried and her bladder let loose and cried when I picked her up to lay her in the cat bed. I took her in the living room and she wanted me to keep my hand on her, so I laid on the living room floor with my hand on her until my husband came out to sit with me. She started to convulse around 6:45 a.m. and we sat and petted her, talking to her and comforting her and she passed over the Rainbow Bridge around 7 a.m.
My husband was very understanding. We wrapped her in some beautiful dark blue satin and he went out to get some paving stones to lay on top of her grave. We buried her out in the back yard between two leland cypress...both of us knowing that she is now in a better place and not suffering anymore. We love you and miss you Zelda!!

I haven't been feeling too good lately and I lost alot of weight, but my owners didn't really notice at first. Then when I started hiding alot and not coming out to eat, they picked me up and noticed that I was really thin and got worried....Mom was especially worried because she raised me from a little 3-week old kitten. So they took me to the Vet (which I didn't really like much) and he stuck me with a needle to take some blood but then I got to go home with Mom and Dad. A few days later the Vet called and said that I was hyperthyroid and had to take a stupid pill every morning and every night...PLUS I had to come back for some x-rays. The x-rays were okay and the pills are yucky but I'm eating better now (I like the Kitten Chow) and I'm drinking water too, so Mom isn't so worried. I have to go back to see the Vet in a few more weeks for him to do another blood test.....I'm gonna tell him I'm all better.
I'm glad Mom and Dad took such good care of me....even though I don't like the Vet visits or the stupid pills every day.
