Arrival Story:
My husband found him crying in a parking lot. There were other cats around him, but no litter mates and apparently no mother cat. He thought the kitty may have been dumped there, so he brought the little fella home. We took him to the emergency vet, and they got us some food and a bottle to feed him with. They said he's 2 to 3 weeks old. He was underfed and covered with fleas. We bathed him several times and got most of the fleas off--he's too young yet for flea medicine. We're not sure yet if we're going to keep him--that's up to Giles, Mouse, and Moishe. So far, they don't seem too interested in him, but that will probably change when he gets bigger and wants to play. Smooch seems to like him, though. And no, his name isn't really Baby Kitten--we just haven't decided on a name yet!
UPDATE: Baby Kitten moved to his new home on Aug. 11, 2006. I'm very sad and miss him tremendously, but I know his new mom loves him very much and he's going to have a great life. It was a great experience taking care of this helpless little guy, bottle feeding him, and running him to the vet when he wouldn't poop. I learned so much about kittens, my husband, and myself. Kitten's new mom hasn't named him yet, but when she does I'll be sure to post it.
Bio:
Baby Kitten has a real name: Pepper! And he's getting so big. His new family keeps us updated and sends us pics and videos. He seems quite happy and has bonded with his cat sister, Patches.
