So very proud!

Momma is so very proud of me. Daddy too! See, over a year ago, I stopped using the litter box. Momma tried EVERYTHING to help me learn to use it again. I had so many doctor appointments, medical tests and took different medicines. The behaviorist at our vet worked with us for months. I am very proud and happy to report that I use the litter box ALL THE TIME now. I am never naughty. Momma even put some of her rugs back after washing them. I hope I am not speaking too soon, but I think I am all fixed! I am kind of embarrassed that I had this problem in the first place! Hopefully I won't revert back to my naughty ways when Catsy is integrated with us!

I just wanted to pat myself on the back because I am so happy and proud that I am such a good boy now!

I was born in 1994!

Mommy just found out something very interesting about me that I have known all along! I was born in 1994!

See, I adopted Mommy and Daddy and they were not sure how old I was. The V-E-T recently guessed around 12. (He's good!) Well, today Mommy was cleaning and she found the old rabies tag I was wearing when I adopted her. She called my old V-E-T and they said my records showed that I was born in 1994, and I only saw that vet once, in 1999, for a physical and rabies shot. Now you know why I adopted a new mommy! When Mommy found me, I was still wearing my tag from 1999, and it was 2004! And I lived mostly outside with no vaccines! Grrrrrrr.

But now I have a great family and I wish they would stop taking me to the vet! MOL. I went from one extreme to the other I guess. (My old family gave me the name Mouse, and they told Mommy she could have me. Of course, Mommy was so happy she forgot to ask them how old I was!)

Happy Birthday to Me!

Today is my birthday! Yippppeeee! I wish Mommy and Daddy were not away on vacation, but we will celebrate when they come home.

Three years ago today, I saw a lady crying and I knew she needed me. I needed someone too. I needed someone to love me and to take better care of me than my family was. I needed to go to the vet very badly.

I decided to adopt the crying lady, and she cried less and less with me around! She was sad because just two days before I found her, she had to put her dog, Abby, to sleep.

Now that lady is my mommy, and I have a daddy too. Then two sisters came along later. I am Mommy's first kitty, and although she loves all her kitties, I am her first cat, and she says I am a healer of broken hearts and a very special boy. She says I did the best thing for her ever, which is that I brought cats into her life for the first time, and she will never be without them again now.

When she comes home, I am going to give her a big hug! I just know she will give me my favorite food, Fancy Feast Trout Feast, and I won't even have to share it! Happy Birthday to me!

Catsy is Crazy!

Ok, so I have been wondering why the door to Mommy and Daddy's room has been closed lately. Last night, it was finally open, and I found out what they have been hiding in there. ANOTHER CAT! Her name is Catsy. I met her before, but it was a long time ago so I only remember her a little.

She hissed at me when I went into the room, but I ignored her. She was in this little pink bed and she did not get out. Guess what else Mommy has been hiding in there? THE GOOD FOOD! Catsy gets Fancy Feast dry nummies and I only get my stupid urinary food that tastes yucky. Well, I just helped myself and had a little feast that was fancy myself! Then I took a sip of water, and then it was off to check out the bathrooms.

Catsy has this little pink litterbox, and it smelled HORRIBLE. I don't know what she does in there. I hung out there for a little while. The whole time, Catsy was pretending to be asleep, but I could see her staring at me with one open eye.

Mommy was there too, to make sure nothing bad would happen. She noticed that Kiki kept her distance. She knows better than to trifle with Catsy, but not me! After she politely tolerated my violation of her space, I went right up to that pink bed and got right in Catsy's face. She looked small enough for me to beat up.

Well, that is when all heck broke loose. She went CRAZY, with her screaming and yelling and swatting. I was so surprised that I mostly just stood there, dumbfounded. Mommy picked me up and escorted me out of the room "before I got hurt". Hmmmph. I can handle this myself, Mommy!

Daddy always says Mommy needs to let us cats work things out ourselves, even if we fight a little. But Mommy worries too much about us getting hurt to just let us fight. Daddy rolls his eyes and says we cats will never learn how to get along if she interferes. Yeah, Daddy, you tell her! I can fight my own battles!

I love Grandma Mimi!

I love my Grandma Mimi so much! Kiki is afraid of her and Mommy is afraid to let Catsy near her, so I am her only cat friend! I love to rub my head on her legs. Her wheelchair does not scare me. I like when she sits on the couch and I can sit with my head and arms on her lap. She likes it too! She pets me and tells me I am a good boy.

I have been SO good while the company is here that Mommy has been letting me eat Fancy Feast canned food every day! I think I will try being good more often!

Grandkids vs. Grandcats

I heard Mommy and Daddy getting an earful from Grandma Mimi when she was here about how she wishes she had some Grandkids in addition to her Grandcats! What in the world she could be talking about? I told Kiki that Grandma Mimi was hoping that Mommy and Daddy would have some baby goats, and she laughed and rolled her eyes and said Grandma Mimi wants HUMAN grandkids! Oh no! I would rather have goats! Kiki said that I should not get too worried, because she has heard Mommy say that cats are better than kids because we don't poop our pants and she does not have to to send us to college either. Hey, that is true! I don't even have pants!

Love Muffin Wanted

My Mommy says she misses us! Kiki and I LIVE on the screen porch and don't even sleep with her anymore. That is partly because Catsy is in the bedroom and Mommy is protecting her from us! But Mommy remembers when I used to play with her and sit on her lap and watch teevee. Now I come in to eat and then sit at the door to go back out! Mommy even sat with us on the porch today and said she is learning how to be a cat! That can't be good.

Catsy doesn't give Mommy any love either! Mommy thinks she needs another kitty that will just be cute all day and want to do fun stuff like go strolling or play mousies. She said she wants a cat that really makes her feel kneaded!

I think she is just bored and lonely because she has no job right now and is home all day, but I don't want to hurt her feelings, and I know Daddy would never say that! Anyhow, Daddy said "NO MORE CATS!" so that is that. But Mommy is secretly searching Petfinder for something she calls a Love Muffin. She knows she is not getting one though!

Man of the House!

Well, in addition to Lord of the Manor, I am now going to be Man of the House! Daddy is leaving tomorrow to go to Vermont for the weekend with his "guy friends" and is leaving Mommy home all alone with us cats. At first I begged Daddy to take me too. After all, I am one of the guys! But Daddy said that I need to stay home and take care of Mommy, Kiki and Catsy, who are all just girls.

I guess someone has to be the Man of the House, so I will do it! Besides, once I found out there was a car ride involved, I thought maybe staying home did not sound so bad!

Cat Smell in Your Home?

Every time I see that banner on Catster that says "Cat Smell in Your Home?" I think of Mommy. No, she does not smell like a cat, but she always worries our house does. Every time a trusted visitor comes over, she says, "Hey, does my house smell like cats?" So far, everyone has said no, but she sure does hope they are not fibbing. She keeps on top of the litterboxes really well, but I occasionally fail to use them! (On such occasions, the Simple Solution advertised does a great job.) I have been MUCH better though. Still, she is always fretting about cat smells. I don't know what the big deal is. I purrsonally think cats smell nice!

Oh no! Not the V-E-T again!!!

Mommy must really love giving all our money to the v-e-t, because I have an appointment next Tuesday to go there...AGAIN. Mommy said at first no more vet visits unless there is an emergency until she finds a new job.

Well, there is no emergency, but she thought that since I am overdue to have my thyroid rechecked, she would take me in while she has the time. The vet is not open on Saturday, so once she goes back to work, then maybe I can get some relief from these constant trips!

In addition to checking my thyroid, they will check my blood, and Mommy will collect a urine sample to make sure my kidneys are still ok and that my crystals are gone.

I also have developed a barking cough that Mommy is worried about. I am not coughing a lot, but enough for Mommy to want the vet to check me. Gosh, a guy can't even clear his throat around here!

Even though Catsy gets all the attention around here, I am Mommy's most special kitty. Kiki is Daddy's special kitty, and Catsy is just extra special!
