Locked In!

Meow,

So today meowmy informed me that we are having some waterproofing work done on our basement. She told me that I would have to stay up in my room so that I don't get hurt or run out the door when the guys are hauling in and out their equipment. You mean I can't supervise? Bummer! I do not like this at all. Meowmy came home this afternoon and I was crying for attention. She told me that later on after the guys leave that she will give me some extra quality kitty time. She better!

I Was A Very Good Cat Today!

Meow,

This afternoon meowmy decided to take me out for a stroll near Little Muskego Lake and around our subdivision. We saw a couple boats out on the lake and quite a few people driving down one of the busy streets near us. When we were on our way back we ran into a little boy and girl and their mother outside. They said hi and asked what was in the stroller. Meowmy said it was her cat and asked if they would like to see me. The little kids and their mother came over to see me and the little boy asked if they could pet me. Meowmy said sure and unzipped my stroller a little so that they could pet me. I was very good and let them pet me without a big fuss. As we were heading home the little boy shouted to meowmy "I like your cat." Well I thought to myself, I aim to please. Meowmy told me that she was very proud of me for how I behaved with those little kids and that she thought I deserved a can of Tiki Cat. Whoo-hoo! We strolled over to The Animal Doctor and picked up a can of Chicken and Salmon flavored Tiki and a bag of my regular cat food. When we arrived home, I sat down on the kitchen floor patiently waiting for meowmy to fix me my can of Tiki. She fixed the Tiki for me and put in up in my bedroom where I usually eat my food. I immediately went for it as I always do.

Moral of this story is, if you want Tiki you are going to have to earn it.

Meow,

So I know everycat on here knows how I love to sit near the patio door and look out. Well, last summer the condo association put up new wood fences near us. They had to wait a while before they could be stained. Just yesterday they started staining our fence and are still doing so today. I'm having fun watching them work. I know it's going to look very nice when done.

I Met A New Monster Today!

Meow,

Unfortunately, I met a new monster today. This one's name is Loud Scarey Monster, aka the Lawnmower. The people from the condo association had to come through with this big, loud annoying monster just as I was trying to have some quality chill out time with my meowmy this morning. Loud Scarey Monster frightened me so bad that I had to run downstairs and hid behind the futon. I wish the humans would give us fair warning ahead of time when they are going to bring out one of the monsters whether it is Little Scarey Monster, Big Scarey Monster or Loud Scarey Monster so then we have ample time to go hide.

Spring Strolls and Photo Contest!

Meow,

I've been getting in on a lot of fun strolls lately. The past couple of days the weather has been real nice, so meowmy has taken me out in our subdivision and near Little Muskego Lake. Today I heard quite a few animals all speaking different languages. I heard the all to familiar "Woof" and I also heard another familiar foreign word "Tweet". The ones that say "tweet" are also very tasty looking, but meowmy tells me they are not for dinner. They are just to look at.

Also, I wanted to let everycat on Catster know that I entered one of my pictures in a photo contest. Meowmy and I have a chance to win $1,000 which would come in very handy for us. Plus you never know, maybe I might become a celebrity. Anymeow, the link is http://greatamericanphotocontests.com/voterindex2.aspx?refer id=strm_multicontest_referafriend_3&p=417075&x=.jpg&t=1 . Please cast your vote. We'd really appreciate it.

Where's My Kitty Bag?

Meow,

That is the question this morning. You see, meowmy met Grandmaw and Grandpaw last night at Quaker Steak and Lube for Mother's Day Dinner. Anymeow, meowmy told me she ordered some chicken wings. It thought we were going to have a chicken pawty today. I'm a little disappointed in meowmy.

Anymeow, Grandmaw liked the card and gifts I helped pick out for her. The card I got her was a Mother's Day card for a Grandma with a cat on the front. Meowmy and I got her a Starbucks gift card, a knick-nack that says mother with a gray cat on top, some chocolates, and meowmy gave her a couple of the Peanut Butter and Jelly Swirl bars that she made on Saturday.

Next time meowmy goes out to dinner I do expect some chicken though. A chicken pawty is long overdue.

Mother's Day Adventures!

Meow,

Furrst off, I'd like to wish all the Catster moms a very Happy Mother's Day!

I've had a pretty good day today as has my meowmy. The sun has been shining and it's fairly warm outside. Meowmy has had the windows open and I've been enjoying listening to the birdies sing.

Meowmy made a hamburger on her grill for lunch today. She sat out on our patio and ate her lunch while I watched from inside. I was hoping that maybe I'd be able to sneak out and look for birdies and chipmunks when she opened up the door, but no such luck. Meowmy is just to clever at finding ways to keep me from escaping. I shouldn't complain though as meowmy decided to take me for a stroller ride after she was done eating her lunch. At first when she put me in the stroller I meowed quite a bit. I thought to myself, "Oh no, I hope I'm not going to the V-E-T again." Meowmy reassured me that I was not going to the V-E-T and that we were just going for a walk to watch and listen to birdies. Once I realized that's really what meowmy was taking me for a stoll for, I calmed down and really enjoyed the ride. We strolled around near Little Muskego Lake and we saw a couple boats out on the lake, a robin, some black bird with a little orange on it's wings (meowmy isn't a bird expert), and these big birds in the water that meowmy tells me are called Canadian Geese. I really don't care what those birds are called. To us cats they all just look like dinner. Anymeow, we strolled back towards our subdivision and I noticed several ugly kitties in people's yards along the way. They were speaking in a foreign language. They kept saying "Woof". I'm sorry, but I don't understand "Woof." You need to speak "Meow." Anymeow, we got back home and I jumped out of the stroller and just walked around the living room, then went upstairs and I'm now chillaxin at the top of the stairs in the upstairs hallway.

Meowmy has talked to Grandmaw and Grandpaw a couple times while they have been gone. They said the wedding they went to was nice and that the hotel they were staying at was wonderful. They will be coming home this afternoon. As I mentioned in my previous diary entry, meowmy, Grandmaw, and Grandpaw are going to this restaurant called Quaker Steak and Lube to celebrate Mother's Day tonight. Just to clarify for those kitties who aren't familiar with Quaker Steak and Lube, it is a Motorsports themed restaurant, hense the name Quaker Steak and Lube. Meowmy says they have chicken, steak, ribs, fish, and shrimp on the menu. Meowmy needs to bring me home a Kitty bag of all the above and she just needs to make sure she doesn't order any of the spicey sauces otherwise she might have to deal with a pooting kitty. I really don't think she wants that.

So what is everycat doing for Mother's Day? Did you get to spend quality time with meowmy? Did you get her anything special?

Blondies!

Meow,

So meowmy was doing some baking this morning. She told me she was making these things called Blondies. My response was "Meow". To all the humans out there, that is Cat for "Do those contain catnip"? Meowmy's response was "No Colleen, they actually have Peanut Butter and Jelly in them." Anymeow, even though they do not have catnip in them, I must admit they smelled awfully good baking. I wonder if meowmy will let me have a corner? I sure hope so.

I hope everycat's meowmy has a very Happy Mother's Day tomorrow. I bought my meowmy an early Mother's Day treat - a Carmel Apple with white chocolate chips and M&Ms. Meowmy loved it and ate every last morsel. I also bought Grandmaw a card and some gifts, but I won't say what just in case she might read this. Meowmy also plans on meeting them at this restaurant called Quaker Steak and Lube near us for dinner tomorrow night after Grandmaw and Grandpaw get home from a wedding they went to near Green Bay. I sure hope meowmy orders something good and that she brings me home leftovers.

Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!

Meeeoooowww!

That is cat for I'm very unhappy, I don't want to be here, and don't you dare try and touch me or I'll attack. Yes, needless to say I was very unhappy at my V-E-T appointment. The weather was nice and meowmy was able to take me over in my stroller. That was the only good thing about it. Once the vet tech called me back to be weighed, I started to growl. Meowmy was able to pick me up and get me out of my stroller to be weighed. I'm 13.2 lbs. Then they led me back to the examining room. Meowmy was in there with me. Dr. Jodie came in with the vet tech and I started growling and hissing like mad. The doctor was able to unzip my stroller. I acted like I wanted to attack someone, so they had a blankie there that they had to use to hold me down. The doctor proceeded to listen to my heart. I growled like a freight train, but my heart sounded fine. Then she felt around me to check for any masses, and again that was fine. Next came the tricky pawt, checking my ears and my teeth. The doctor had to be careful when she was checking my ears as I was still angry and acted like I wanted to attack. Then she checked my teeth out with the light from the thingy that she was checking my ears with. I tried to chomp down on that several times, but my ears were fine and my teeth looked nice and clean. Dr. Jodie was happy with my weight too. I really hadn't gained or lost much from the last check-up. Oh, and that "stool" sample that the doctor wanted was actually a sample of one of my newmies. I was wondering why they wanted one of my newmies though. Meowmy said it is to check for parasites, but because I live indoors, the doc said that it is unlikely that I have a parasite. Anymeow, I was very happy to leave the V-E-T's office. I calmed right down on our walk home. Now I'm just chillaxin near the top of our stairway. Meowmy really owes me another can of Tiki for what I had to go through today don't you think?

V-E-T Appointment today!

Meeeeoooww!

I'm not a very happy camper right now. Meowmy just had the nerve to set up an appointment for me at The Animal Doctor (a.k.a. the V-E-T)today at 1:00. I'm due for my yearly physical. The weather people are forecasting rain/possible thunderstorms this afternoon. I sure hope they are wrong because just as much as I hate going to the V-E-T, I also hate car rides. They also told meowmy to bring in a fresh stool sample. What stool? Are they referring to the step stool meowmy keeps in the kitchen? It's not real fresh or new though. I guess I'll have to have meowmy run over to Target or Bed Bath and Beyond and pick up a new, fresh stool to take in to the V-E-T's office. Staff there sure have strange requests. I hope none of the clinic cats get in my pawsonal space like some of them like to do. I also hope there aren't a who lot of "ugly kitties" there. They are always so loud. Don't they realize that a cat appreciates some peace and quiet, especially while waiting in the V-E-T's office. I always escape the rude thermometer pawt that some of you cats out there talk about. In that respect I don't mind the V-E-T's office, but I don't like the vampires that come out once in a while. I certainly hope they don't decide to come out today.

I just knew there was a reason that meowmy gave me a can of Tiki today. It tasted delicious as usual, but I should have know it was a bribe. I'll let everycat know how my appointment went.

Colleen (a very unhappy kitty right now)
