I AM A CHAMPION MOLE CATCHER AND MOUSER

We moved from the other end of the state to a nice home out in the country. I am so happy because there is so much more stuff for me to hunt and catch. Mom don't like me catching chipmunks or squirrels. I brought her 2 baby chipmunks last year, they were so little, they looked like they just got out of the nest. I didn't hurt them. I gave them to mom and now they are inside pets in a huge cage and they are happy. Sometimes I like to sit and look at them in the cage and imagine, "what if"?
Our yard had so many mole holes mom and dad thought they'd never be able to get rid of them. By the end of our first summer here, they were all gone because I got them all. Moles are very fun to catch. I missed having moles to catch so I went to work down the street at another neighbors yard and started to hunt the moles in their yard. One day when I followed mom out to the mail box, the neighbor called out to mom to ask my name so he could thank me personally for all the moles I got out of his yard! Mom bragged to him of what a good mouser I am. I also catch tons of vols but I don't like to eat them. They are yukky. I do love to eat the light brown larger sized mouse. Mom don't like me to eat them in case I get parasites so I hide when I catch them so she don't take them off me.

A TRIP TO THE WOODSHED

When we moved to our new home, dad made a large woodpile on the side of our home with a new wood shed to keep it all dry for the winter months. I have decided that it is my most favorite place to sit and wait for my daily catchins'. I also catch lots of moles and voles as well as lots of mice. Mom and Dad are very proud of me and reward me for being such good hunter. Fancy Feast is my favorite reward. Even the neighbor across the street asked mom what my name is because he wanted to thank me for removing all the moles out of his yard too.
I will lay in wait in front of the woodshed every day even if it takes hours to catch and do my job I am appointed to do.

I AM THE GREAT HUNTER

Mom and Dad are so proud of me. Even the neighbors across the street wanted to know my name so they could thank me for removing moles from their yard too. When we moved here in December, there were mole holes all over the yard. I got rid of all of them. Once in a while, one will try to come back but that is fun for me, having a bit of sport getting another one here and there.
The only thing is mom don't like me eating what I catch. I don't eat everything of course because mom gives me fancy feast to reward me for all my hunting skills and to make sure that I would rather eat fancy feast than a raw mouse. I like to eat the light brown mousies. I leave the nose and the insides left on the front of the walkway in front of the house so mom knows that I am doing my job. I hear her say, "yuk" when she finds the innerds.
Mom makes sure that I come inside every night because we live where there are lots of wild animals like mountain lions, coyotes and bears etc. I showed mom a couple days ago of how I can run straight up and climb up a high tree if I need to have a getaway. My claws are so nice and sharp that they help hold me to the tree. Mom got me one of those fancy smancy thingies to sharpen my claws on when I come in the house. I love to use it. She sprays it with cat nip too.

I guess I feel that I deserve the honor! I am the best hunter that my parents could ever have to clear their property of all the moles and mice in the new home we moved into up in Maple Falls. I love this new home because I have all kinds of woods to explore meaning that I got lots of hunting territory. I even brought home two baby chipmunks for mom and dad to take care of. They were just out of the nest and did not even run away from me when I tried to chase them! So, I took them in my mouth and gave them to mom and dad to take care of. They are really fun pets and are obsessed with running in the wheel and they play all the day long and don't have to forage for food. I sometimes sit by the cage and look at them longing that maybe they had been a better challenge for me to catch.
Mom is very sad right now because my sister Love Muffin is dying. They took her to the vets and cannot figure out what is killing her or what is wrong with her. Mom is very sad and upset. She loves all of us too much. Mom and dad tell me all the time that I am smart and bright and a very good hunter. I know that is true.

My Unique Potty Pose--THE DAINTY DO-DO-DIP

I am very particular when I use our litter pan. Mom and Dad just bought all of us a nice big litter pan. I am very fussy when it is my time to use it. I check out all corners and places in the litter box, then I get into position and rest my front legs up on the side of the litter box! Even though there may be other few cats out there that go this way, this is MY invention! It is called the Dainty Do-Do Dip. This morning mom was ready for me with the camera and I obliged her to take a photo of me just this one time!

I am slim! I got my summer figure back!

I always gain lots of weight for winter. I always lose it in the summer and have a lovely long lean figure! I am getting used to the new cat tree momma got us. I wasn't used to it! It was here over a week before I decided that I "love" it! I sleep on the second level. Love Muffin always hogs the top, she is the ruler of the cat tree. I do keep an eye on Mr. Vegemite. He is nice to me and I am nice to him.

Bathtub adventure

I love to set on the side of the bathtub and keep my mom company when she is in there. I usually have to wait for her outside the shower, but most of all my favorite time is to dink around the tub with her. I love bubble bath and love to swipe the bubbles with my paw. I sit on the edge of the tub and pretend that I want to come in with her because I am experienced with playing out at our fishpond. After mom gets out, I still sit there. Anyhow, today I feel in the bath! At least the water was still nice and warm. I scrurried to try to get out but kept slipping and sliding so mom was helping me out and laughing at me! I didn't mind it too much. After all, it's just water and I licked myself dry. The thing that upset me afterwards is that mom decided to put that one spot flea junk behind my neck! I hate the smell of it! That upset me so I went and hid and sulked for a few hours to let her know I didn't like her doing that to me.

It's cold outside

As much as I love to play and hunt in the outdoors, it is just way toooo cold! Mum let me out the door this morning as I was standing there, asking to me let out. I ran down the sidewalk, stopped, turned around and ran back inside!! When I don't want to stay outside then you know it is too cold. I am lucky to have a warm place to sleep and eat and be loved even though our new adopted kitty, Love Muffin sometimes makes life a tad difficult by us having to bow to her whims but on the whole life is great.

MAD MELAH

I am really upset and mad at my mum today for putting that one-spot flea medicine on the back of my neck! I hate the smell and it makes me so mad that I go behind the bed and sulk. I will show mum I don't like it by snooting her for the rest of the day until I get hungry. I know mum is trying to help me, but, I just can't help it hating that yukky smelly stuff!

MELAH'S MOLE!!

Mum and dad are really proud of me today. I caught the mole that has been tearing up our lawn and garden. I would sit at the holes, hours on end waiting for the little guy to pop out so I could grab him and that is what happened. I was playing happily with my catch in the corn and mum came too see what was going on because I was making a lot of noise in the garden. She was very happy with me and I got praised and made fuss of. I didn't mind my mum taking him from me as she didn't want me to get any cooties from it even though it was big and fat and healthy and even had a luxurious coat. Mum told me that he looked like a miniature platypus with it's big webbed looking feet and long snout. I heard dad say, "Give Melah some steak". So, I am in for a grand reward!
