Your favorite chair is vacant now...
No eager purrs to greet me
No softly padded paws to run
ecstatically to meet me
No coaxing rubs, no plaintive cry
Will say it's time for feeding
I've put away your bowl,
And all the things you won't be needing
But I will miss you little friend,
For I could never measure
the happiness you brought me,
the comfort and the pleasure.
And since God put you here to share
In earthly joy and sorrow
I'm sure there'll be a place for you
In Heaven's bright tomorrow...

My dearest friends,
I am sad to say that what Cole says is true. Mickey and I survived a fire in January, but I developed a growth under my tongue at the end of April, from the chemicals I had injested after grooming my coat. Mickey is very healthy, but my human spent 55 days trying to treat me for an inflammation from inhaling smoke. This included fluids under the skin, water by syringe, eye drops, forced feeding of prescription cat food, anti-biotics, steroid shots, appetite stimulants. All this effort gave me 2 more months to enjoy living in my new apartment and curling up to my sister and my human as much as I could.
I realised something was wrong, and refused the forced feedings on Saturday June 21, and by the night of Monday June 23rd, I knew it was my time to go....My mom did the only thing she could do to help me then...to let me go, peacefully. I was put to sleep on a blanket on my human's lap at the vet's office as she sang "Somewhere over the Rainbow."
I live on in spirit and the hearts of all that loved me.
Love always,
Pandora

Dearest Pandora,
Cole just let me know that you are at the Bridge, after some terrible events. I don't know what to say, I feel so very sad for you and your family. I wish I was there to put a paw on your Meowmy's shoulder...
I'm in shock...
I'll never forget you, sweet Pandora.
Love you forever,
your friend in Sweden

Happy Birthday to Mickey...and me too!
Hey, I almost forgot that it is our 12 th birthday today, can you believe it?
There were a few things that tipped me off:
1) My buddy, Cole, was so SWEET to send me a Happy Birthday message in a fishy Catster Rosette. Purrr....purrr... Thanks Cole! :)
2) This morning, I was curled up fast asleep on my human's pillow (Mickey's favourite one that's closest to the TV), and instead of my sister, Mickey, bullying me for being in "her" spot -- she was actually NICE enough to groom ME! Purrr....purrr...Thanks Mickey! (It was so nice being groomed by HER for a change! ) Then we snuggled on Human's bed and I fell fast asleep -- content with our truce today.
3) My human gave us some Fancy Feast for a snack instead of the dried catfood that we eat day in...day out! *licking my chops*
(Headbutts to you, my human!)
So much excitement for one afternoon....sleepy now. I must conserve my energy for the evening, you know? Time for another cat-nap on top of the computer!
Purrr...purrr...

It seems that I have been tagged by Kayleigh and Blackjack to participate in a meme.
The rules: Each player starts with seven random facts about themselves. Cats who are tagged need to write on their own blog about the seven things and the rules. You need to choose seven cats to tag and list their names. Don’t forget to leave them a comment that they have been tagged and to read your blog.
Little known facts about ME:
1. I love to sleep on top of the warm computer screen, but I often slip off of it into my human’s waiting arms. (She tells me it’s ok and I start to purr to thank her for catching me when I fall.)
2. I like to sit between my human’s face and the computer screen to get her FULL attention, and to get soft kisses on my ears.
3. I like to “help” my human pack by jumping in her purse, suitcase or school bag, etc.
4. I don’t eat commercial cat treats.
5. I scratch the sofa and run away before I get sprayed with the water gun.
6. I only “talk” to my favourite human because she’s the only one who understands me and responds.
7. If you persistently ignore me, I will sharpen my claws on your pants while you’re wearing them!
Now I tag these 7 cats:
1. Cole
2. Donder
3. Loki
4. Slim Jim Phantom Rocker
5. Pedro
6. Rhett
7. Panther

Hello humans and furry friends!
I'm taking a moment to send you some warm holiday greetings. I wish you and your loved ones all the best in the new year.
Here are a few candid photos that I took of myself and Pandora, with my new Webcam. (Yeah...I should have brushed my hair first, but who needs brush when you have a cat for a comb? LOL) It was a classic "Pandora moment" of my kitty giving me a tongue bath while I sit in front of the computer.
I have to get back to my house cleaning marathon...I'm leaving on a train in less than a week to visit my dad for a couple of weeks in Maryland, USA. I hate to leave my sweeties alone for long, so Pandora & Mickey will get daily visits from our cat-loving superintendant. My mom will be visiting every other day to let Pan and Mickey know that someone who loves them is around too.
Happy Chanukah, Merry Christmas, and Happy Kwanza to all my Catster and Dogster pals :)
Cheers,
Pan & Mickey's "human"

Meowy Holidays, one and all!
Guess what? Winter came today in Montreal -- we got our first snowfall! All I wanna do is tunnel under the blankets and hibernate. The bears have it lucky; even I can't sleep through 'till April! What do you guys do to keep warm in winter?
Mickey and I are indoor cats, and we get bored when it gets cold outside and the birds fly away. Mickey might be content to watch TV through Spring, Summer, Fall and Winter, but I need more mental stimulation. The catnip toys are losing their appeal. How do you have fun in winter? Do you have "snow" where you live?
Purrs,
Pandora

My fantastic feline friends,
Blackjack has posed a good question:
"Do you believe in long distance relationships?"
To answer your question, I think long-distance relationships between humans
aren't a great idea in the longterm, but for cats -- it's ideal (no territorial issues!).
Several years ago when my human was dating this tom who lived in the home of a "mature " ginger tabby cat, I had a long-distance relationship that lasted for a quite a while. I was merely 3 years-old when I fell for this charming 15 year-old cat's mesmerizing "purr...purr...purr..."
This cat, (I'll call him) "Sir-Purrs-A-Lot", had such a loud purr, that I could hear it through the telephone. Whenever the tom would talk with my human, he would put the phone receiver to his cat's throat for me to hear.
I never did meet "Sir-Purrs-A-Lot", and I guess it's for the best, since the age
difference was too great. This sweet ginger tabby has been laid to rest for years now, but I still have a tape recording of his glorious purr...purr... to listen to whenever I think of him. *sigh*
Thanks for reminding me of this special cat.
Purrr...purrr....
