Arrival Story:
Diva was taken to a local clinic by a good samaritan who said she'd been hit by a car. We had just moved to this town and took Salsa and Ninja for their annuals -- it was mid-December. Since Salsa and Ninja were about 10, we were looking to add two new kittens to the home. The clinic staff told us there were no kittens, but they did have a young female who really needed a home. She had been there since late August and her time was "running out". Of course, being the sucker I am, I visited her -- she was housed in an orthopedic dog ward in a steel cage. In the cage, her only place to get away from all the din and hide from the dogs was a cardboard box. She came out instantly, purring and head-butting....I felt SO sorry for her! My husband visited her later, and we decided to take her home.
Bio:
Diva was about 8 months old when we got her -- and 4 months had been spent in that cage. She instantly fell in love with Ninja, and instantly went into heat, even though Ninja was neutered! Diva was VERY, VERY timid -- and downright afraid of men. We suspect she was actually sorely injured and abused rather than hit by a car. Now, 7 years with us have tamed her a lot. She is still extremely shy when guests are here, but is an exceptionally friendly girl with us. She is so soft, and so loving, as well as beautiful. She is a daily reminder of the power of patience and love.
