Our Poor Moose ManMarch 20th 2008 10:46 pm[ Leave A Comment ]
Gomey has had a pretty rough time since last December. We fought cancer with our other cat, Morticia, and lost the battle in November 2007.
WednesdayFebruary 4th 2008 11:16 pm[ Leave A Comment ] We have a new kitty addition to the house. Her name is Wednesday - Winnie for short - and she's a year old. Like me, she came home from the local SPCA. She is a year old and has had kittens in the past. She's fixed now though - good thing! Seems like since she had kittens so young, she is still growing up and acting just like a kitten herself. She's a bit chubby in the belly, but our vet says it's because of her former pregnancy. She has a cute little white spot on her belly and long curly whiskers. Her favorite thing to do is pounce on my tail! Well, not only my tail but Pepper and Bowie's too!
My kitty sister MorticiaDecember 2nd 2007 1:48 am[ Leave A Comment ] I am very sorry that you had to leave us. Mom and Dad have been extremely sad since your last day on 11/25/07 and I hope to some day see you again. Love, you big goofy softball-headed brother Gomez
Gomez is going to turn into a "poop-machine" (dog)September 14th 2005 7:24 pm[ Leave A Comment ] Ok, this crazy cat not only plays with the dogs all day, follows us around like a dog, jumps up on your leg like a dog, he has now taken to eating Bowie the dog's food. It's funny - he's not eating the puppy's food - he's eating the larger kibble full grown dog's food. Silly cat, dog food is for DOGS.
BUSY!September 9th 2005 2:40 pm[ Leave A Comment ] We haven't been on Catster much, sorry Inky and Patches! Mom just started a new job, so no time to play on the internet, and went back to college after a 15 year hiatus! Things have been crazy with no time to play :( Gomez misses his Catster friends very much and hopes you will forgive him for his mothers' busy schedule. We'll try to get out and play here more often!
The mutts...August 17th 2005 5:48 pm[ Leave A Comment ] So we're going on vacation for 5 days and the dogs are going to be kenneled along with Gomey's sister Morticia because she has to get medication twice daily for her thyroid disorder. I have a feeling Gomez is really going to miss his girls...he sooooo loves the dogs. One thing he will be happy about - free-feeding all day every day! There goes the diet. I have a feeling in the time we're gone he'll more than make up for what little weight he's lost on his new diet. Gomez will also miss his messages with his Catster Crush Inky...
New Photos!August 11th 2005 9:11 pm[ Leave A Comment ] Everyone in the family has new photos today! Yippee. Now we have to figure out how to get the pictures without glowing cat eyes...
The DietAugust 10th 2005 5:34 pm[ Leave A Comment ] So, as you know if you've read Gomey's info, he's on a diet. When we got him he weighed a little over 13 pounds and was underweight. He's a very large cat - his head actually IS the size of a softball. So, a few months later he was 18 pounds and looked just a tad overweight. A couple months later he was even bigger (we were afraid to weigh him, but I'd say over 20 pounds. I won't put that in his bio though, because I'm in denial). He's now on a "diet". I have it in quotes because with the two other cats there's not a lot we can do to limit his food. We don't free-feed him anymore - the bowl is only out about 3 hours a day - but he doesn't seem to be losing weight. He will let you know he's STARVING when the bowl isn't out though. He'll stand on his hind legs and put his front feet up on your waist and bat at you, or run around behind you screaming at the top of his lungs. Problem is, our other two cats are underweight - Pepper with no teeth, so she eats slowly, and Morticia with a thyoid disorder that can cause her to be underweight anyway. It's difficult to separate them or feed him something different. Not quite sure what to do...
Antagonize the Dogs DayAugust 5th 2005 8:51 am[ Leave A Comment ] So, yesterday seemed to be "antagonize the dogs" day for Gomez. He spent three hours while I was working on the computer last night just laying on the floor in the middle of the dogs' room playing "bait"...and it worked. He wrestled with Scarlett at least 10 times, got her in a head-lock and fiercely licked her for as long as he could. I didn't see him capture Bowie at all, but he did get in a few good swipes at her, no claws involved, of course. He's not de-clawed or anything, he just doesn't use them to play with the dogs...good thing too. He has HUGE paws! Gomez is the most active cat I've ever had and all the time we're home from work he is up and about, following everyone around or playing with Scarlett. He's twice the size (weight-wise) of either dog and will just literally throw himself against them, knock them over, and then...let the games begin. He bites, licks , head-locks, you name it. What a fabulous big softball-headed boy he is!
