adoption rant

It has been awhile since I have done my adoption rant. But we here at the Yolo County SPCA are badly in need of many many adoptions so we can help more. For example in the past week my person has taken three kittens from our County shelter, arranged for 4 kittens who had been raised by an elderly couple to come into a temporary foster home until a permanent foster home is found, told a rescuer that the 4 week old kitten the semi-feral mom cat brought to a family could come to stay with us, dealt with questions regarding the possible surrender of cats adopted a number of years ago, and that is a part of what we do. Please join with us on the Power of purr and purr long and loud for adoptions!!!Please encourage everyone you know to spay/neuter their animals to stop the horror of overpopulation!!! Please please if you adopt an animal know that it is for the life!!Please give any thing you can to help those of us out there trying to find homes for those who need them. Adopt/Rescue/Help us help them

Adoption & Rescue Rant

It has been awhile since I have done my adoption and rescue rant. I have been busy purring in the Power of purr chain and lying around the house. We have had many many foster kittens go through our home this year. Some for a few days until they could go to another foster home & Jeeves for a few months. He is so wonderful, but just hates going to placement & being put in a cage on display. I am sure that we will find him a forever home.
Please remember all of the rescue groups that are out there working on a shoestring to help the homeless animals find a forever home. Remember always Rescues Rock!!! If you are not able to help with money, most groups are in desperate for supplies and volunteers. If you can drop a little in the collection jars you would be surprised what we do with what you give us. Thank you for your support. Please join with my family and purr for rescues & forever homes on the Power of purr chain in the adoption & rescue forum

Think good thoughts for us while we are trying to help all those who need help

rescue rant

It is time for my rescue rant. We really really need good thoughts for adoptions. We have so many kittens/cats in our foster homes and so many more need us to take them into our care. The more we adopt the more we can rescue. The past couple of weeks have been very difficult. We did have 4 adoptions between our two sites. One of them was a beautiful girl who had been abandoned with her kittens and had had to depend on the kindness of strangers. They brought them to us. She went to a wonderful family. We have so many more who are seeing their own wonderful families and forever homes. Join with us on the Power of purr forum to purr for rescues and adoptions. Adopt from a rescue group. Support rescue groups in your area. If you can't support with money give time. If you can't give time give the old towels or buy an extra bag of food & drop it off or an extra toy for the animals. All of us who are involved in rescue appreciate so much any thing that you can do. Sometimes the best thing is to say thank you. I can't tell you how much it means to my person to have someone come in & say thank you for what you do. Help us help all of the animals. Rescues rock!!!

There are so many animals that need forever homes. Please join with us on the Power of purr to purr for rescues & forever homes. My person only has access to the computor at work so I have to write my diary entry early. We are fund raising for new cages for our foster cat/kittens for placement. We have found that we will need over $2000 to get as many as we need. Wow that is a lot of money. If you know of anyone and if you can please go to our website & donate online. While you are there you can visit our on line shop to buy things as well. Any profits support all of our programs. Recently we have started with another county a feral cat clinic to spay/neuter feral cats. So far we have had two and have s/n over 60!!!

There are so many things we need. One thing for sure I know that all of you who have joined with us on the Power of purr have helped. Oh my it kitten season has arrived here in California. Every day we are contacted by someone who has found a kitten or a litter of kittens or the shelter contacts us asking if we can take some underaged kittens. We are full to the bursting!!! Please help us by thinking good thoughts for us on Saturday when we take the ones we have that are ready out for placement. Every one that we get adopted means one more that we can rescue. If you are looking for a kitten/cat visit the rescue groups in your area. Support the rescue groups any way you can. If you cannot give money or items and you can give your time. Join with us on the Power of purr forum to purr for rescues and adoptions. We need those positive thoughts. We had one adoption last week. Please think positive thoughts for any group that is working on helping find forever homes.

Well Saturday we have placement and I would like to ask everyone to help us out by going to the Forum & the Power of purr forum to purr for forever homes. We have lots and lots of kittens and calls coming in everyday from people who have found kittens. We also have lots and lots of puppies & dogs and lots of cats that are still waiting for that perfect match. Please help us all by thinking positive thoughts, by supporting rescue groups and shelters in your area, and most of all by giving forever homes to all who need them. Each one purr one!!!

On this memorial day we need to remember all of those who are dear to us. My family in December lost our dear Sauterene. My person's nephew is serving in Iraq after already serving in Afganistan. Think of those who we have lost and those who we have found. Join with us all to purr for adoptions, rescues and forever homes on the power of purr chain.
We have the weekend off from our placement events. That is a good thing as we had a two day event last weekend. It was very busy. Over 30 dogs & cats were adopted from all of the groups that were there. Our group adopted 8 dogs. None of our wonderful cats were adopted, but they were so nice that they got lots of attention. We know they will find forever homes soon.
