Hi Furriends,
Greyson is very tired, so he asked me to update you for him.
Here is the link to the website of his specialist:
http://www.ashemergency.com/
We are back from Rockledge after seeing Dr. Ludlow. He feels that it's one of two things - the Prozac Greyson's been taking could be causing this reaction or it's bone cancer.
He wants to wean Greyson off of the Prozac slowly. It will be one dose every other day instead of every day for a month provided there are no major episodes of hyperesthesia. He will have his blood count tested weekly. If by the end of the month, his levels are up then we will attempt to take him off the Prozac completely or substitue another medicine (clomipramine, doxepine, phenobarbitol) - or maybe even use melatonin to control the hyperesthesia since there are almost no side effects with that.
If on the other hand, this makes no change in his WBC then he will have to go in for a bone marrow aspriate (drilling into his shoulder to extract some marrow for cancer testing). Greyson will have to be knocked out, but it only takes about 10 minutes.
Of course, it still could be something else, but the specialist really thinks it's either the meds he's taking or cancer because there is no evidence of anything else going on. He wants to start with the less invasive method first unless Greyson begins to show other symptoms.
This is the doctor's assessment:
Leukopenia - R/O drug reaction, immune mediated,
neoplasia, infectious
BCS: 4/5,
Temp: 99.4F,
Heart Rate: 200/min,
Respirations: 32/min
Attitude: BAR
Hydration: Normal
MM: Pink, moist
Abdomen: Compliant, non-painful, no mass noted
There were some other things, but no abnormalities
were noted
I guess that's all for now. We just wait and see.... Thank you all again for your support. It's amazing to me how many friends Greyson has through Catster and I am truly grateful.
Cindy (Greyson's mommy)

The vampires took more blood this evening. My white cell count was even lower than it was just two days ago. This is getting really scary. The fecal test results will be in on Wednesday although we don't expect to see anything there.
The Feline AIDS test was negagtive. The leukemia test was negative. That's good news!
Tomorrow my meowmy will call the internist up in Rockledge for an appointment. That means I'll have to ride in the car for about 45 minutes, but that's the closest internal specialest.
My regular doc thinks I have some sort of bone marrow cancer but he says that he's not sure and he wants me to get another opinion. Also, in case that is what's wrong, he is not the best one to treat it. I'm so glad that my vet is honest enough to admit that he doesn't know everything. Hooray for Dr. Jason!
I have so many thank yous to send out and I promise I will get to them this week! Thank you so much to my friends for your support. It was so strange that I was chosen as DDP just when my diary was about my illness - whatever it is.

Meow, furs!
Dr. Jason just called with my test results. I am NOT diabetic at this time. Yippee! That's the good news. Also, we are not changing my Prozac dosage right now.
The bad news is that my white blood cells and the neutrophill cells are VERY, VERY low. This could be caused from:
chronic infection
viral issue
bone marrow disease
leukemia
I have to go back to see the vampires on Monday so that they can steal even more of my blood to be sure that the test results are correct. If they are indeed correct, we will start out with antibiotics while checking for the really bad things.
I guess I could use some Power of the Paw at least until we find out what is wrong with me. Please stick with me, my furriends, I'm a bit scared!
Love,
Greyson

Meow Furs,
What an exhausting day it's been and it's still morning! Meowmy captured me after my breakfast and shoved me into The Box. At least this one is bigger than the last one so I can stand, sit, and turn around. Still, I know what it means - a trip to the V-E-T! Sure enough, the next thing I knew I was being belted in the back seat of the car and we were riding along the streets. I voiced my displeasure the entire way.
When we stopped, I knew we were at "that place". I could hear and smell the strange cats and dogs. They were meowing and barking. I could hear their toenails on the wood floor in the waiting room. I am a manly man cat, but when meowmy put me up on that cold metal table I started to shake and shiver.
Then a lady came in and told me how handsome I am. She didn't fool me for a minute. The next thing that happend was her putting me on a scale and announcing to the world that I weigh 20 pounds. We already knew that, but she said it like it was a bad thing! Back to the cold metal table.
Then Dr. Jason came in. He was very quiet and patient and moved slowly. I usually like Dr. Jason well enough, but this time I hissed at him. He had the nerve to laugh! He checked me for fleas - none. He looked in my eyes - green and purrfect with no signs of high blood pressure (I refused to stay still long enough for him to check the usual way). He looked in my ears - purrfectly clean. He looked in my mouth - my gums are fine, but there is a little tartar build up on my back teeth. He doesn't want to do any dental work on me. I was glad to hear that. My belly felt ok, my heart and lungs sounded fine.
Then, horror of horrors! They took me to the torture chamber in the back. Meowmy didn't come to protect me. Can I trust her ever again???? There was a vampire there and she stole my blood from my leg. Then she stole my pee pee from my bladder. Yikes!!!! Then, the worst thing of all.... she and the doctor clipped my claws! I have been growing them out and shaping them until they were just the way I wanted them! Let me tell you, I swore and cussed and used some words they have never heard before!
On the way out, I saw a boy kitty with a manly mancat deep voice in the waiting room. I think he was outraged and embarrased because he was in a PINK carrier!!!!
Anyway, meowmy is waiting for Dr. Jason to call back with the results of my tests. He will call sometime today. He's testing to see if I'm a diabetic as well as for some other things. Meowmy might have to raise my dosage of Prozac from 1/4 pill daily to 1/2 pill because I've had a couple of episodes recently and I've been very jumpy and twitchy. Meowmy says she's on pins and needles (it looks to me like she's sitting on the chair) for the doctor to call.
Meowmy and I will let you all know the results as soon as we find out. No gifts, please, but if you could purr for good results, I'd appreciate it! Thanks, furriends.
All this cost $180.00. Does that sound about right to you? The tests are CBC and GPH. Meowmy says I'm worth any amount. I hope Daddy agrees...
Oh yeah, I'm already on a diet, but Dr. Jason said I have to shave off some more calories! That means less Fancy Feast! What am I going to do? Just as long as they don't take away my shrimp! Shrimp, shrimp, wonderful shrimp!!!
Your furriend,
Greyson

I have been throwing up lately and on Tuesday night I had an episode. It didn't last very long, but it was nasty.
Anyway, meowmy decided to take me to the v-e-t yesterday. I heard her on the phone making the appointment for 3:30. I had a few hours to make my plans. I was NOT going to the v-e-t! Well, at around 3:00 meowmy came looking for me. She had an ice cold, big, fat, juicy shrimp. I was hiding under one of the beds. I knew what she was up to, but well, you know how I love my shrimps! I crawled out from under the bed and half way through eating the shrimp, meowmy picked me up and tried to stuff me into the carrier! Let me tell you, I was having none of that! I was a tornado of teeth and claws. Lucky for her, I only shredded her shirt and not her. That was her Plan A. Foiled! Ha ha!
She had a Plan B. She followed me around and dropped a big towel over me and picked me up again. She tried to stuff me into the carrier again. No way, Jose! I got all twisted up in the towel so she couldn't figure out where my feet and tail were and she was afraid she'd hurt me if I went into the carrier all tangled up. (I would have been fine, but I'll never tell her that!) Foiled again! Ha ha ha!
My meowmy's no dummy. She had a Plan C. She called the v-e-t's office and said that she couldn't get me into the carrier and would have to reschedule the appointment! Yippee! When daddy got home he helped her and I just couldn't beat the two of them. That wasn't fair! There I was inside the dreaded carrier. Meomwy called the v-e-t's office again to see if they could squeeze me in. I got lucky! They were backed up and it was the end of the day and they didn't have time for me. Foiled for the 3rd time! Ha ha ha ha!
Now she has another appointment for me on Saturday at 10:30 in the morning. She thinks she's really smart. She bought a bigger carrier. This one is made for a DOG! If she thought I fought over getting into a cat carrier wait till she sees the fuss I'm going to make about getting into something that's made for DOGS!
I'll keep you posted on how this all turns out. By the way, I did get a new collar (black with a white reflective stripe, a break-away clasp, and a bell) and some cat grass. I will accept those things, but never a DOG carrier!

Meow everyfur,
I promised to let you know what HQ said about the rosie problem. I tried their suggestion to leave a treat for myself but it did not work. I sent Watch Cat another message and am waiting for a reply.
Here is their response:
Sorry you had trouble opening your gift messages.
The Techno Cats report this is fixed now. Thanks for your help in identifying the problem.
NOTE: You may need to give your pets a treat to recache their pages in your browser, so your browser doesn't load a page from its cache from when the problem was happening.
And thanks for loving Catster. We love you right back!
Meows! & Tail Waves!

Meow Furs,
I cannot see any messages that come with my rosies so I will just have to meow a blanket thank you to every fur who has ever sent me a rosie. From what I'm seeing, lots of furs have the same problem.
I read in somecat's post that if you give yourself a treat it will refresh your page and then you will be able to read your messages. I tried it and it didn't work for me. I just sent a message to HQ asking them to fix it. I will keep you all posted through my diary when I get an answer about this.
In the meantime, I will not be sending rosies (or buying Zealies) so please don't think that I don't care about your wedding, birthday, gotcha day, etc. I will send paw mails instead.
Your frustrated furriend,
Greyson
