Thank you to the Darlings for choosing me for this lovely honor.
I have a beautiful picture from Calley Jane. And Muffin sent me a pumpkin rosette. How sweet of them.

This has been a wonderful week. It is so neat to see my picture on the homepage.

Thank you again to my friends at Calico and Tortie Darlings.

Love,
Cali Ann

October's Party
By: George Cooper

October gave a party;
The leaves by hundreds came—
The Chestnuts, Oaks, and Maples,
And leaves of every name.
The Sunshine spread a carpet,
And everything was grand,
Miss Weather led the dancing,
Professor Wind the band.

The Chestnuts came in yellow,
The Oaks in crimson dressed;
The lovely Misses Maple
In scarlet looked their best;
All balanced to their partners,
And gaily fluttered by;
The sight was like a rainbow
New fallen from the sky.

Then, in the rustic hollow,
At hide-and-seek they played,
The party closed at sundown,
And everybody stayed.
Professor Wind played louder;
They flew along the ground;
And then the party ended
In jolly "hands around."

My First Diary Entry

Mom thought that I had already written a diary. Perhaps I did, but forgot to save it -- mmmmm.

I have been with Mom and the family since May 14th. I was a stray hanging around Mom's daughter's home. During the winter, I was seen off and on with a handsome male Siamese/Berman.

He and I stayed in the old, run down buildings, down from Baby Bella's place. We would come out and walk up the lane together or just lounge around. During the spring, Mom noticed that we would come out in the evenings and walk up the lane, but I would go up a neighbor's driveway while my friend went into the field. Then we would meet back up and head back toward those buildings and there is an old barn too.

One day I got into trash at Bella's home. After that, if there was a bag left out too long I would get into it, and the neighbors trash was no longer safe. Mom felt that if I had a home, I would not be out looking for food. So one day she decided to see if I would let her pet me. I allowed her to pick me up too!! After that it was just a few days and I came home with Mom. (I asked around about who's cats they were, but were told that they were just strays who helped keep the mice population down.)

Within a couple of days Mom dropped me off to have the vet check me over and do a surgery. But they found out that I had already had one, so that explained why I never had kittens following me; which mom had feared with my friend always with me. You know what, Mom has not seen him since she took me home; neither has Bella's mommy. Mom believes he was my guardian angel, watching over me until someone took me in.

I am fitting in here just fine. I do not let anyone push me around; not even bump me!! Believe me I know how to hiss and smack. I pester Mom during the evening, wanting her to play. Which she does with me then I do not want to stop even when she is asleep. I climb on her, nip her toes and just get into her face!! Mom says it is neat having a young one who loves to play.

I may be the smallest one here, but Mom says I have a HUGE personality.

Love,
Cali Ann
