For the record, thirteen was the number at the evening meal. Socks, who chose to eat with the ferals ( fine by us inside girls); Big Mama looking like a wooly bear in that gorgeous winter coat of hers; Aunt Bobbie; the two Sevens: the original female by that name, and the look-a-like male we’ve taken to calling Seven Point One (we think this is the former Igor); Star – as skittish as ever; Becca; Little Mama and all 5 of her kittens, who are definitely not so little anymore. No Marble tonight, though he was here for a late breakfast. Everyone appears to be doing well.
Oh my Sleeper, your table runneth over ~ what joy!
wow that is a lot of kitties fot dinner dso glad they are all looking well
Thirteen on the 13th!
Yep Sleep, dat's a LOT o' kitties bein' fed by a furry sweet 'n lovin' mommy! What a feast dey enjoyed! So happy dey r doin' well 'n happy! Hi Socks!!!
Hello everyfur! Oh, and I forgot to mention the two possums: Littl'Un and Mr. Ugly Face! MOL!
Hi MILO! Yeah, I like to eat outside with the Ferals, then I come in and see what's left in the girl's bowls - heh heh...
MOL! Dat's da way to go Socks my furiend!! Double Ur pleasure's! Hehehee, I know how mush fun it is to go outside!
Hey Sleep U all feed possumz too? Koot names! MOL!
I'm glad.everyone is well. Do the possoms eat alongside the Ferals? I haven't seen my possoms in a long time. I thought they might have been hibernating.
We only wish the possums were hibernating! Of course, when and if they ever DO go into hibernation, they'll probably just be replaced by the raccoons! Oh, and no - last year when they were all babies, kittens and possums, they were sometimes eating at the same time, but now when the possums show up, all cats back out of the way and watch. Until the Mama or Papa comes out the door with a long stick and starts pushing them down the steps! Papa says when he did that last night, the little grey tabby kitten jumped down and started challenging the retreating possum's back - MOL!!! Big ManCat when the Papa's there with a stick!
What great news! Do me a favor...if you name another girl cat, can we name her? We'll call her Seven of Nine. You know the Star Trek chick.
We already beat you to it, Zoe! That's where our Seven got her name - she was one of nine kittens last year! The male we're calling Seven Point One was, we think, the little boy who was taken for socializing by the Cat Whisperer - they named him Igor. :( We'd told them if he didn't work out they could bring him back - which they did, saying they couldn't cure him of biting. He still bites, but they're love bites, just a little too heavy of love bites. He bit the Mama's ear and left her with blood dripping!
Zach got a claw stuck in Mom's hand last night.
OWWWIE~! Don't like dem claws gettin' so nasty!! Mallee does dat to me 'n I DON'T like it at all!! Retract, purrlease!! MOL!
Yeah, claws are bad, but this was fangs! The Mama held him for a little bit longer, because he wants so much loving - that's what makes him so wild; he climbs all over her! Just about anytime she's outside with him, he'll start trying to climb up to her shoulders. The Mama hopes no one happens to pass by in the road because the whole picture would be pretty freaky: her in her long black knock-about-the-property coat, scarf wrapped around her head with her black garden fedora on top of that, black boots - and this wild black cat sitting on her shoulders! Meowwww!!!
MOL~!! Sleeper, Mommy would REALLY love to see dat!! Sounds like a pishure worth a thousand words!! Watch out meowmy fur da fangs!!!!
Thanks MILO! It's funny, but I have to tell you as soon as she put him down, she went in and flushed the bite with hydrogen peroxide and then smeared Neosporin in it. No sense in taking chances!
Just posted some new pics of Little Mama and her kittens at the ferals page. Was trying to post the link but just getting Error 4 this morning...
