Oops, guess I'm not perfect???

Well, I was soo good the other day, then I slipped a bit and escaped again. Mom wasn't worried about me cuz she didn't know I had escaped, MOL!
See, she came home for lunch and let the dogs out cuz it was nice. She also left the inside kitchen door open. After she went back to work it took me about five minutes to find the open door and push out the screen that she had fixed and escape.
When she came home from work I was calmly sitting on the porch waiting for her to let me in. She was ANGRY at me and didn't let me go play with the dogs that night!!!
Tonight, however, she and Susie let me go down in the lab pen with the dogs again. I played with them for a while, then I climbed over the fence and snuck around the side. Susie looked over the fence and spied me and reported to Mom.
Mom took the dogs home and came out front and called me. I dodged her again, so she did the cat food trick again and I stupidly fell for it again. Darn it all!
Then, she and Susie fixed the door with a HUGE grate over the screen. I've tried it since, but I can't budge it. It's gonna be a LONG Summer!!!

I was a good kitty today!

First thing this morning I let Susie catch me and put me in my crate. Then, when Mom left for work, I didn't even try to escape with her. And, when she got home, I hopped right into my crate cuz I knew she was going to let the dogs out.
Soo, after dinner, Mom let me go down with the dogs. She said cuz Susie was with us she would have a better chance of keeping an eye on me.
Would you believe I was a good kitty???? Well, I didn't believe it, either, but I was!!! Twice I climbed up the fence but both times I climbed back down and stayed with the dogs. When it was time to go home Mom just picked me up and carried me all the way into the house.
Now I am playing in a new kitty basket that someone gave to Mom today. It's pretty neat! Maybe she will put it in my crate so I can be comfy in the mornings while the dogs go in and out??
Enjoy my new photos of the great outdoors! Too bad you couldn't enjoy the black fly bites, too. Actually, they left me alone but they sure chewed up Mom and Susie and Harvey and Barney. Glad I have lots of hair!!!

Prison Break....

Hehehe...I broke out of prison today!
Actually, Mom DID let me go down in the lab pen with the dogs. I stayed in there just long enough to be polite, then I headed over the fence.
Mom called to me, but I think the wind was blowing wrong and I swear, I never heard her calling! She took the dogs home. So, they are all mad at me now cuz I forced their trip out to be shortened. Oh well, so sue me!
Meanwhile, I booked around the house and met up with my bud, Bud. We were catching up on some gossip when I heard Mom calling me. I zoomed right under the porch. She kept calling so I sashayed up to her and wove around her feet then zoomed back under the porch. The next time she tried waving an empty cat food bag at me. Sure, Mom, that's gonna work...don't you know there is a whole feeder FULL of cat food out here???
This time I went around to the front of the house and watched some cars go by. I heard Mom in the bedroom, MY room, and I heard the container for my canned food being opened. Hmmmmm. Next the door opened and there she was with a can of MY food. I came closer to see if it was a trick and, it was. She tried to tease me into the house.
Next, she comes back with a dish and right in front of me, puts the canned food in the dish and sets it on the porch floor. Of course, I raced up to eat some AND SHE GRABBED ME AND PUT ME IN THE HOUSE!!!! Even worse, she LEFT that food out there and Bud and the gray cat ATE EVERY BIT OF IT!!! That was MY food, and I had to WATCH thru the window while THEY ate every bit of it!!!
Mom says that little trip down to the lab pen only made my wanderlust MUCH worse so we won't be doing that again for a while. She said maybe with just Harvey or Harvey and Sponge, but never again with the whole group of dogs. We'll see!

In Prison, 24 hours and counting....

Well, so far Mom has keep a good handle on me, literally it seems. Everytime she lets the dogs in or out she plops me in that dog crate. And, she even showed Susie how to do it, and I couldn't get away from her.
Today both Sarah and Julie came over to the house at different times. I almost made it out with Sarah, but at the last minute, she nabbed me in the Summer kitchen. Don't worry, I hissed at her!!!!
Julie was expecting me to sneak by her so she just picked me up and went out the door, then put ME back inside as she shut the door. Grrrrrrrrrrr.
Mom discovered the ripped screen in the kitchen door when I snuck out last week. I just climbed up on the microwave which is beside the door. Then, I stretched out and was able to reach the screen ABOVE that heavy grill Mom put on it to keep the dogs from ripping it. I am pretty sure she would never have discovered it if I hadn't left the edge hanging like that. Now she keeps the inside door shut. I tried my hardest to get thru that but all I succeeded in doing was pulling down the curtains. That didn't make her too happy, but she reminded me that she uses AC in the Summer so everything will be shut tight!
Today when Mom got home she discovered the rug all pulled away from that register that goes down to the cellar. I had to try, you gotta admit. Too bad those furnace people make those registers cat proof!! It was maddening... I could smell the cellar smells, hear the wild cats down there calling to me, but I couldn't get down there no way, no how!
Mom says she is still thinking about letting me down in the lab pen with the dogs. She has to admit, I have NEVER failed to come right back into the house with the dogs when play was over. But, she says that will only remind me how much I want to be outside so that is not good.
Mom said the true test will be when all this cold and rain stops. NO ONE, not even ME, wants to go outside in that garbage. I did hear it was supposed to be HOT and sunny on Sunday... I can't wait!!!

In Trouble....

Uh oh, this morning I snuck out when Susie went off to work. Mom was already at work, and she looked out the window and I was headed RIGHT into the road!!! Both she and Julie came screaming out the door and I was trapped... I didn't know which way to run.
I started to cross the road but there was a big car and they HONKED their horn at me! Scared me, so I ran back to the house. Mom snatched me right up and SHUT ME RIGHT into the bedroom!!!!
Mom says she doesn't know whether she is shaking so much cuz she's mad or scared for me.
I say, HEY, nothing happened, right????
Mom says she is going to buy a million screen doors and put them EVERYWHERE.
Won't work, Momsie, dearest.... did you notice the corner of the screen in the kitchen door is already pushed out??? And, how do YOU think that happened???? Those wimpy dogs certainly can't reach that high.
I don't think I should ask her if I can go down to the dog yard this afternoon...

Raining cats and dogs????

Today it is PURRING rain outside. Mom still took the dogs down for a run cuz she was already wet since she was planting some stuff in the garden. I decided to go along with them and see what was what down there today.
Well, we got down there and everyone ran every which way! I was soo confused by them all, I started jumping right straight up whenever I spied one of them. Mom said it looked like it was raining cats and dogs with all that jumping and leaping!
After a bit we started getting REALLY wet. Everyone except Crystal wanted to go home. I was afraid I was going to melt so I went and sat under a tree for a while. Even Mom had a really wet backside and feet so we all trudged home. Crystal and Pinki were the wettest so they are drying out in their crates. I have chosen the big, round, LL Bean dog bed for my nap.

More adventures...

Tonight I escaped to the great outdoors when Mom let Sponge out. Sponge doesn't like to do her business in the upper pens, she wants the open space and the bushes in the lab pen so Mom lets her go down there by herself. Well, that seemed lonely so tonight I accompanied her.
Mom decided since Sponge and I were already down there she might as well get the others and spend some time down there with us all. Soo, they all came running down and the games began!
Tonight Riley was trying to bug me a bit. He kept racing up to me and pushing me with his nose so I would run some more. It was kind of hot down there and I am black so finally I had to go hide in the bushes. Riley just laid down on the ground and waited for me to come back out when I was rested. Mom put that photo on his page cuz all you can see is my ears IF you know I am there. She made a circle around them to show them up!
I was just helping Mom eat her dinner and looking out the window and I saw those two wild, cellar cats playing up on Mom's car. They were jumping in and out of the kayaks that are up there. I had a BRILLIANT idea... I think I will have Mom take me kayaking next. Now, that could REALLY be some fun!!!
(Mom here: Trust me, it AIN'T GONNA HAPPEN!!!!)
Tonight I decided to be really nice to Mom and not try to rush out every time the door opens. Of course, my ulterior motive is to keep her from putting me in that DOG CAGE. Sure enough, last night she LEFT me in it the whole time she and Toto and Beanie went kayaking!!!! I was sooooo mad that I bugged her for over two hours after she went off to bed, MOL!!!!

More outdoor time...

Mom was sooo not happy with me last night. I was outside, of course. She and Susie were going to the store and I was sitting by her car. She started the car and revved the engine really LOUD so I would be scared and run. I did, I ran RIGHT UP to the car!!!
Would you believe she jumped out and CHASED ME right under the porch??? Hrumph!!!!
Then, when she came back I was right over next to the main road! I knew what I was doing and I was going to stay away from the cars but she threw a hissy fit and brought me right into the house. Too bad I come when she calls me now, I had no idea she was gonna bring me inside.
Soo, she has made some new rules... I can only go outside WHEN she lets me now, and if she is putting the dogs in and out, she puts me in a DOG CAGE!!!! A DOG CAGE!!! She said that if I think I am a dog and can act like a dog then I can go in a dog cage. HRUMPH!!!
Soo, I went outside briefly this morning and did my business... she called me and I came right in, of course knowing my breakfast was waiting helped, hehehe!
Then, I had to stay inside until she came home from work. BUT... when she came home, I was allowed to go back down to the lab pen with the dogs. The good news is that when she said play was over I came right back into the house WITH the dogs. I have decided in the interest of enjoying the great outdoors, I will now come when she calls me so she will be happy and let me out more often.
Speaking of going down with the dogs... my goodness is that fun!!! Mom is very attentive because she said she still can't believe those dogs don't try to chase me and hurt me. Mommy, I AM one of those dogs, hehehe, or at least they THINK I am one of them. But, I NEVER forget... cats rule and dogs DROOL!!!
Anyway, Mom was taking photos like crazy. I spent a bit of time in my hole again but she said she already had enough of those so she just put different ones on my page.

My Mom is nice. (Psst, it's Mother's day so I gotta say- that!)

Actually, today Mom was nice and she said I could go down in the lab pen with the dogs. Imagine that, man have I come a LONG WAY this Spring!!! I checked the perimeter first so I would have a way to make a quick exit if necessary, but those dogs were actually quite nice to me. Was I nice to them??? I'm not saying!!!
Anyway, we had fun playing together and Mom took a TON of photos. Most of them are on my page, but there were TWENTY so you have to look in my photo book to see them all!!!
After we got back to the house I hung out inside with Mom a bit since it is Mother's day, but then I booked it right back outside and sat on the front porch with Bud and the gray wild cat.
It is very relaxing to sit outside in the evening... I think I could really get into that on a daily basis. Mom HATES that I love to be out, but she has to admit, I am staying right close and do not go toward the road, I only go down in the back yard. And, I know several ways to get back into the house if I need to FAST! Otherwise, I now will come in the front door if Mom calls me nicely AND I am hungry, MOL!!!

My Mom IS dumb...

Before I was questioning about Mom being not so smart. Well, the truth is now out and I was right, she is not terribly with it!
Take today, for example. When she put Spongie outside this morning I deftly snuck out the door with her. I stuck right to the edge of the building so Mom never saw me. (Don't worry, I had already eaten my breakfast, MOL!) Well, Mom, not being aware that I was out there, didn't see me hiding behind that tree when she let Sponge back inside so she went blithly off to work. Unless she really DID see me and was teaching me a lesson???
Several hours later when Sarah took the garbage out she spied me. She reported that fact to Mom and Mom, not wanting her to think she was neglectful, told her she KNEW I was out but I knew how to get back inside now. Okay.
Finally, it was time for Mom to get home from work. Since I had gone out the shed door on the back of the house I supposed I should come back in that same door and not come in the front door with Mom. Soo, I raced around the back and when she let Sponge out again I climbed up a small lilac and meowed to Mom to come get me. She did.
BUT, here is where the dumb comes in... she took me back in the house thru the shed door, set me on the kitchen floor and I marched right out the OPEN kitchen door, MOL!!!!!!!
Gee, Mom, that wasn't terribly bright!!!
Since I had been outside ALL day long, I decided to walk back in the shed door when she let Spongie back in.
Silly Mom... it's now definite that I won the outdoor battle!!!!
