Soo, me and Momsie have been dancing a bit lately. First of all, it is getting on toward cooler weather and she is battening down the hatches, so to speak. Well, how in the world is any self-respecting cat supposed to catch the mice and squirrels if she blocks all the places for them to come into the house???? Not easily, I must say!
And, there is also that continuing issue of the stupid saran wrap on the windows. Doesn't she remember that, since I am NOT allowed outside to enjoy nature, all I have left is to sit in the windows and enjoy it that way. Well, her stupid saran wrap has totally blocked off the window ledges and there is NO PLACE for me to sit and chill out, literally, I might add.
Then, last night she decided it was time to put the rugs back on the floors. I LOVE rugs! If you run really fast and jump on them they will all roll up against the wall and you can climb right inside the roll. When the sissy dogs walk by, you jump out and yell, "BOOOO!!!" It's a riot to watch them jump out of their skin, hehehe!
But, Mother doesn't like the rugs all rolled up...something about tripping over them in the middle of the night?? Not my fault she can't see in the dark!!!
Finally, I am happy to say, she got hers last night! She trapped my friend, the wild kitty, to bring her into the kennel for the Winter because she is very old and the Winters are hard on her, or so Mom says. Trust me, by the LONG, DEEP scratches on Mom's arms, that kitty would prefer to stay outside!!! But, I digress.
Back to the topic at hand... once the outside kitty wasn't outside Mom no longer was feeding her outside. Well, last night the little black and white kitty with the big stripe down its back and the LONG tail came along for his supper. Finding NO FOOD out there, he was scrounging around and happened to still be there when Susie got home from work. It was dark out there and Susie didn't see him until she opened the porch gate. But, he saw her and he was ready and armed, so to speak.
Momsie was in the house eating her dinner, which happened to have some garlic mashed potatoes in it. She kept wondering why that garlic smelled so strong and strange. Wondering until Susie finally got brave enough to get out of her car again and come into the house.
Fortunately for Susie, the little skunk fired a bit too early. Unfortunately for both Susie and Mom, he DID manage to leave his pleasant scent all over the porch. It was a LONG, SMELLY night around here, MOL!!!!

My said I was a diary pick today. I am extremely happy and honored to have this great honor bestowed on me once again.
In honor of my being picked, I shall honor you all with a super duper diary entry, but, not tonight.
Mom is fickle... she said tonight is HER night, not MY night to write diaries. And, while I am pretty good with that computer, I still can't seem to get past the log in screen. Tell me, what does a blue screen mean??? That keeps happening whenever I try to log in, for some reason.
Anyway, hopefully, Mom will be helping me tomorrow night and I shall create a masterpiece worthy of the great honor of a daily diary pick!!!

Today Mother has decided to play with me, for a change. Pretty nice, I must admit.
First, she took down all the curtains and washed them. Of course, I helped, especially after she draped the sheer ones over a chair in MY Summer kitchen, MOL!
After playing with those for a while I mosied into the house to see what was up. She was putting some sticky stuff all around the windows. It was really neat...after she got it all up she pulled the white part off and it sprang down to the floor, all curled up. What a GREAT toy!!!
Next, she took some sort of clear wrap stuff and stuck it to the sticky stuff on the windows. It wasn't plastic like a bag, more like that clear stuff she puts on food. Sooo, of course, I needed to rip it all off and see if there was any good food behind it, right???? For some reason, she wasn't very happy!!!
She put ME out in the Summer kitchen and she rummaged around and found some pieces of grill, like the sides to a dog crate. Next I heard some banging and hammering and when I came in, she had those grill things right over the clear stuff on the windows.
Wonder if I should wait a while to pick thru the grill and rip the clear stuff again until after she finishes all TWELVE windows or if I should just go ahead and rip the first one now???? Decisions, decisions, decisions!
Hey, while I was out in the Summer kitchen someone came to the house. I was all prepared to zoom out the porch door when it opened but they did something with a button outside and a LOUD bell rang and scared me so I had to run the other way. What in the world???? Mom says now she is going to tell EVERYONE to ring the bell BEFORE they come in. Nice Mother, HUH???

Today Mom had the day off. You would think she would have planned nice stuff to do with me, but no, she didn't! She took her car to a place to get a new windshield...apparently, they don't work too well with holes in them, kinda windy, I guess?
Anyway, when she came home she must have forgotten she left me out in MY Summer kitchen so, naturally, when I heard the car drive in with my SUPER hearing, I had to zoom right out when she opened the porch door, hehehe!
Since it wasn't dark outside she couldn't use the laser light, and I haven't been too impressed lately when she brings out Harvey, so she had to do some quick thinking on her feet. First, she raced over to the edge of the lawn to keep me away from the road. I sauntered over to the big trees on the front lawn and made a HUGE jump to climb up one. Too bad I forgot she trimmed, or should I say CHOPPED off my nails the other night...I slid right back down to the ground!!!
Then I decided to head back to that road, hehehe. Well, Momsie glanced around and all she found was a big, old Aster plant growing beside the tree. Assuming anything might work, she broke it off and dangled it right in front of my face. Of course I stopped to smell it...wouldn't YOU?? Yup, she grabbed me!
Later in the morning she decided to take the dogs down to the big pen. They were already outside so she went out MY shed door and forgot to close it behind her. I didn't race right out... I needed to not let her know I spied the open door.
After a while I mosied over to the big yard and stood on the wall to check things out. Darn it all, that Barney noticed me and next thing I knew, they were all gathered around me so I had no choice but to make my presence known to Mom and wander over to where she was.
Bless her soul, she did let me play around with the doggies until I hopped up and was headed over the fence. Of course, she grabbed me and the party was over.
She didn't get any photos of my playing with the dogs because I was MUCH faster than her camera today... it was cloudy and she had the slow lens, ooooh, too bad, MOL!!! She did, however, get some of me sniffing (and tasting) the asters that SHE picked!

So, today Momsie went shopping. When she got home she had a bunch of howlaween costumes for the dogs. I am NOT a dog, so I could see bad things coming.
Pretty soon, along came Susie home from work. Being of super intelligence, I decided to book out the porch door when she came in, hehehe!
Drats, she never missed a step... she walked into the house, grabbed the laser light and teased me right back into the house!!! I must admit, I did take my sweet time before I followed it back inside, MOL.
Mom and Susie had their dinner, then, as I expected, Susie grabbed the costumes and Mom grabbed the camera. I have to admit I did enjoy watching the show with the dogs, hehehe!
Susie thought she was going to be really smart and she placed some stupid doo rag or something like that right on top of my head!!! I did stop her when she tried to put the strap under my chin, thats for sure!!!
Anyway, I posed for the rag thingie, then she got out the mohawk hairpiece. I would rather EAT that thing, so I grabbed it a few times and she grabbed it back and finally I decided I would sit for the photo, but I did get the last bite in!
Well, it was more of a nibble, not a real bite, MOL!

Well, Mom didn't take me right home after work on Sunday cuz she CLAIMED she had to get all that camping stuff back in the house and she had no desire to keep the doors closed to keep me inside. Yeah, Mom, I've heard that excuse before!!!
I was sure she was going to let me sit right here all day long so I was pleasantly surprised when she got me at noon. Trust me, I did not go easily into that carrier... she might even have a bit of blood to remember it!!!!
Speaking of, Momsie wasn't too happy with me, either. It seems I had a bit of a yelling contest with Sarah when she took me out of the carrier and put me in a cage. According to Sarah, I was just growling a bit at her, but sadly, Mom's hearing isn't as bad as she claims... she heard me all the way down in the lab pen, MOL!!! More like screaming, according to Mom... at least I did not hurt Sarah.... I just yelled at her!
Anyway, when I got home I discovered Mom had just piled all the camping stuff right in MY Summer kitchen. She had all those clean blankets in a HUGE box and she didn't tape down the top, MOL. She also still had some food in some of her canvas bags!!!
I tried not to look at those blankets... can you imagine what a nice bed those will make on a coolish Fall day??? If she knew I was interested, she would seal it right up tight and keep me out!!! I just sauntered away, storing that information right in my HUGE cat brain!!!
Upon entering the house I tried to tell Mom that Sarah did not give me enough food. I marched over to my dish, and it was empty!! Mom said, too bad, I ate at work. HUH????
Anyway, I checked out all the rooms, meowing as I went, then Mom let the dogs in and I checked them all out, too. Everyone and everything was fine so I decided to take a long nap... right in that box in MY Summer Kitchen, MOL!!!

This is getting really, really old! Mom got out my carrier again this morning. This time I wasn't quite so dumb and I didn't rush up and climb right in, but she caught me and stuffed me in it anyway.
Sure enough, over to the kennel I went. It seems Mom is going camping with the girls and also with Nina and Louie and their Mom this weekend. Shouldn't be an issue for me, I would think... whoever feeds the dogs can feed me and that's all I would need...I could stay right here!
But, no... Mom is camping in the back yard and she is convinced someone would let me out if they were coming in and out of the house.
Now, would that really be a problem??? I could just make my way down to the lab pen and go camping with them. In fact, that does sound like a ton of fun to me!!
Momsie... can you please come over here and get me so I can go camping, too??? PLEASE???????

Sunday is my favorite day of the week. Mom is mostly home all day and my friendly dog pals are usually hanging around in the house, too.
Today was no different. It is pretty gosh darn hot and humid outside so we were all staying in the nice AC. Because it was Sunday, I got TWO breakfasts... my usual when Mom got up to go to work and I managed to get another one out of her when she came home from work at 11 am. I LOVE breakfast!
Thank reminds me, this morning I ALSO witnessed Mom giving Toto a whole can of MY special food!!! Doesn't she know that is for me and me alone???? Next thing you know Toto will be purring and meowing,, MOLing out loud, hehehe!
Mom said it was cuz he needed some pills but I dunno... I think he is special, or at least thinks he is, MOL!
Anyway, after a few naps, Mom decided since it was Sunday, it was change the sheets day. Somehow, someway, she managed to get them off the bed and into the washer without me knowing about it, but I certainly made my presence known when she was putting them back on the bed!!!
Mom has a water bed and I had not realized how much fun it was to jump up and down on that bed wiithout the blankies and sheets and pillows on it...you can hear that water splashing all around and it is really, really neat!!! All the while she was trying to put that bottom sheet on, I was bouncing around all over the bed... COOL!!! Finally, Mom tossed me right off the bed and that was that. Harumph, how in the world can I get my exercise if I can't jump around all over the bed???
It was okay, I got her back. She cooked a steak on the grill for her and Susie for dinner. Since Susie had to work late tonight, Mom put hers in the microwave. Well, later she had to heat something up so she set the steak on top of the microwave and put a plastic bag of veggies on top of it.
Of course, as I expected, she forgot about it, MOL!! NOT ME! I climbed up there and took the steak, but, being smart, I rearranged the bag of veggies so she couldn't tell, hehehe!
Mom came out into the kitchen, saw me up there, remembered the steak and rushed over and grabbed the dish. She glanced at it, noticed the veggies still on top, so she put it back in the microwave. A long time later, she came along back into the kitchen...I was still up on the microwave so she came over and looked. I was just finishing that steak, and boy oh boy, was she surprised, hehehe!
Guess Susie will have a hot dog with her veggies. Mmmmmm, that steak was PERFECT...cooked just right and totally delicious!!! I LOVE Sundays!

You may notice there is a new photo on my page and it's obviously NOT me, MOL!
Well, there was no school today so Sarah, who works for Mom, had to bring her daughter Julia, age 11, to work with her. Mom didn't want her to get bored so she brought her camera and some of my dog family to work so Julia could take photos of them. Well, tonight Mom was looking at the photos and this photo of my friend, Maude, jumped right out at her!
Maude is an older cat here for adoption. She was found out behind the kennel during a terrible snow storm last Winter. Mom and the girls were sure she was dying because she was just skin and bones and was terribly dehydrated. They figured someone had dumped her at the vets next door instead of doing the right thing for her.
Well, Mom gave her some fluids and they fed her. For about the first week Maude drank ALL the water they gave her and filled her litter box with urine so then Mom was worried she might have kidney failure. Since she was happy and eating fine and didn't seem to be suffering and Mom was crazy at work, they never got her up to the vets.
Gradually they realized she was gaining weight and not drinking so much water. After about 2 or 3 weeks she was perfectly NORMAL!!! She is probably over 12 years old and is spayed. She doesn't mind dogs but wants to be an only cat.
Mom now thinks she must have gotten lost from her home during that week of snowstorms and she was literally starving to death! Not now, now they have to watch her because she is pretty fat, MOL!
Anyway, Mom said this photo would make the most hard hearted person feel something so she printed it and put it on the front door at work, (and, also put it on MY page in case someone here wants to adopt Maude).
Hopefully, Maude will soon get a new home!

Today was/is my birthday!! I am one year old. Mom is surprised I made it to one year old, MOL!
Tonight after work Mom went to the store to buy me a present. She was going to buy me the usual catnip mice, but at the last minute she sprung for a REALLY EXPENSIVE little Boing Birdie or Birdie Boing?? It is a chirping, catnip scented bird that is supposed to sit on top of a "tree" and chirp and make me bat it all around.
Well, since it cost $10.00, Mom was expecting it would be nice. The little birdie IS nice but it won't attach to the tree cuz the snap is the wrong size. Mom was going to take it back but I quickly grabbed the little birdie and hid it from her.
So, instead, she sent an email to the company and complained about it.
I knew she should have bought the catnip mice... Me and the dogs LOVE those things!!!
Hey, thanks for your gifts and well wishes.
Oh yeah, the other thing my cheap Mom got me was a free sample of some pumpkin/tuna food from some sales rep that was here. I must say, it was delish and I gobbled it all down and looked for more. Sadly, there was no more!!!!
