Thanks for letting me know Blizz and concats again on being COTW! That reminded meowmy of times gone by... Right now she just has to make sure we do not overeat, MOL! Mom didn't know anything at all about having to syringe feed or how to do it when I was alive. She feels now she could have stopped my liver from becoming damaged. She feels bad about that. We think meowmy felt it was an urgent matter, and she didn't know about liver disease at all...she had some medical knowledge and babies in the house, so she used their medicine droppers as the syringe....very messy...but it worked! It's always a messy thing no matter how well someone knows how to do it. We kitties like to spit! MOL And resist, fight, bite...even when they are sick, they can be strong, MOL! Cousin Midnight resists but she will actually purr for my mom when she has to be syringe fed. She hasn't been eating well lately so mom had to do that for her today. She was a good girl. Natasha was syringe fed just a short while when she first came to us because she was a sick kitten. It was a brief time because she was congested. When she was a senior, about fourteen years, every so often, I had to take matters into my own hands. It helped to jump start her. I knew about the problems if she hadn't been. I don't think most people know of the liver damage. Not eating is not my problem - I wake people up for my food! I like to eat too! I get little meals all day long, otherwise I don't know when to stop. |
