Vet visit!

I got to meet the family vet today. She was talking to mom and dad about Fiesta Cat, and what a special boy he was. She said something about me having, "Big shoes to fill." I thought I did have big shoes already? Don't I have big snowshoes???

She gave me an antibiotic for the upper respiratory infection, and some deworming meds. My poop hasn't been checked yet, but she thought it was a good idea since my background is unknown. Plus, Mom told her that I've had gas. How embarrassing is that? The vet agreed that I was gassy, so I had to take some of that deworming med. I'll get the detailed results back for my poop on Monday or Tuesday. The vet laughed because Mom labeled the bag, "Stinky Poop."

Other than that, I look good. The vet thought I'm probably closer to 6 months old, so Mom will change my birthdate. The vet thought I was a bit squirmy. I kept wiggling. I wasn't that into the whole check-up thing. Petting is great, but I don't like getting poked and prodded all over the place!!!

The vet looked at the little scratch on my nose, and said it looked fine. She said that it is purrfectly normal that my bossy, older sister would wack me on the nose! She said something about the old kitties having to put the younger kitties "in their place." I really don't mind. I just roll over onto my back whenever Cauli wacks me.

Nasal Discharge

Mom thinks that I have a bit of a URI (upper respiratory infection). The shelter vaccinated me against it, but still warned her to watch for symptoms. I've had some sneezing, and I have some yellow crusty discharge outside of my nose. So, I'll be going to the vet tomorrow morning. Mom hates to give me an antibiotic if I don't need it. However, she is assuming the vet will give me an antibiotic. What are your opinions on antibiotics and URI's?

Purrrs,
DG

Thank you to my angel brofur and sisfur.

I am so happy to be in my new furever home. I would like to thank my wonderful angel siblings, Fiesta Cat and Zuni, for directing my pawrents to me. My mom brought me home yesterday. While driving me home, she prayed to my sweet siblings and told them how thankful she was. She told them that they were wonderful angel kitties, and she thanks them for everything that they have done for her. She is blessed that I have been here to provide so much love and peace.
Purrs and cheekrubs,
DG
