Arrival Story:
A friend of mine rescued Groucho and gave him the name because of the half Groucho Marx style mustache mark on his face. I saw her the day she rescued him and she told me that I needed a kitty. My 17 year old cat had just died a few months before (only 5 days after my bird of 8 years also died). I still had my dog that I inherited 8 months before when my grandmother died (my other grandmother died 4 months later). I have also had 4 back surgeries in the past year and was feeling great for the first time in a year. My friend decided I needed Groucho because I deserved something to make me happy. Groucho had two siblings that she also rescued. My friend tried to tell me I should take two of the kittens. I felt guilty about the idea of choosing which kitten to NOT take home. Luckily, someone saw the kittens at my friends house and wanted the other two because they were black kittens and had little or no tails. I was relieved because that meant I did not have to choose what kitten to leave behind. I had made up my mind that I wanted Groucho when my friend described the kittens to me. He has only been with me for 1 1/2 weeks and he is very spoiled. He loves to attack the dog, who is a 11 year old, 25 lb terrier mix. My dog, Rusty, runs away from him.
