Tiny Tiger Cat Food Review of 2025: Recalls, Pros & Cons

Tiny Tiger Cat Food Review
Our Final Verdict

We give Tiny Tiger Cat Food a rating of 4 out of 5 stars.

Review Summary

Tiny Tiger is a cat food brand that’s sold exclusively on Chewy. However, Chewy does not state who manufactures Tiny Tiger cat foods, except that it is made in North America. They mention that some of their ingredients are sourced from different parts of the world but are pretty vague about it.

The Tiny Tiger brand specializes in wet/canned cat food and has a diverse product range. This means that they are not the brand for you if you are looking for dry cat food or food for other types of pets. Tiny Tiger’s products typically fall under one of the following three categories: Pate, Chunks in Gravy, and Chunks in Extra Gravy. This allows you a broader array of sampling options to find one that your cat loves best.

However, the main selling point of this brand is its affordability. You can purchase Tiny Tiger cat food as individual products, multi-packs, or variety packs. Buying multi- or variety packs allows you to benefit from bulk purchasing. Moreover, even when it comes to the prices of individual products, Tiny Tiger’s foods are among the most affordable in the game.

Tiny Tiger is worth considering if you want healthy, protein-rich wet cat food without stretching your budget. To learn everything you need to know about Tiny Tiger, read this review of the company and its best-selling products.

    Tiny Tiger Cat Food Reviewed

Tiny Tiger’s products are rich in protein, low in carbs, and contain moderate fat levels. Additionally, they have essential nutrients such as vitamins, minerals, omega-3 fatty acids, and taurine. Tiny Tiger cat food contains everything your cat requires for a well-balanced diet.

However, it has some meat by-products, and you cannot trace their origins. Since you cannot tell which meat is contained in the by-products, there is a risk that your cat might be sensitive to some of the ingredients.

Therefore, if your kitty is prone to food sensitivities, getting them Tiny Tiger cat food would not be a good idea. However, if your cat does not have food sensitivities, Tiny Tiger is worth considering due to its budget-friendly prices. Also, Chewy backs Tiny Tiger products with a 100% satisfaction guarantee.

Discussion of the Primary Ingredients (Good & Bad)

    The Good

Tiny Tiger cat food recipes are centered around either one of the following ingredients: chicken, beef, tuna, turkey, salmon, and whitefish. However, most recipes contain more than one protein source, with the beef and chicken recipes containing dried egg ingredients, which help provide amino acids.

All these ingredients have a high nutritional value, ensuring your kitty has a complete and balanced diet. Tiny Tiger cat food also contains guar gum, which aids digestion due to its high fiber content. Moreover, unlike some cat foods, Tiny Tiger cat food does not contain carrageenan, which is a compound that can cause inflammation in cats.

    The Bad

The biggest issue we had with Tiny Tiger’s ingredients was the inclusion of meat by-products, including brains, spleens, blood, and bones. Although humans do not typically eat meat by-products, they can be a good source of nutrition for your pet. As such, by-products are not inherently bad; it is only that there is no way of determining the specific organs used.

Reviews of the 3 Best Tiny Tiger Food Recipes

As mentioned, Tiny Tiger has several recipes to suit different tastes. The following are reviews of three of their best recipes:

    1. Tiny Tiger Paté Chicken Recipe Grain-Free Canned Cat Food

Tiny Tiger Paté Chicken Recipe Grain-Free Canned Cat Food

This chicken-based pate is Tiny Tiger’s most popular recipe. As you can tell, chicken is the main ingredient in this recipe. However, it also contains other protein sources, such as liver, fish, and meat by-products. The formula also contains vitamins, minerals, and amino acids (including taurine) to provide your cat with a nutritious meal.

The Tiny Tiger Pate Chicken recipe has a natural flavor, which is derived from hydrolyzed animal tissue. It also contains guar gum, whose fiber helps bind the pate for easier digestion.

Overall, this recipe is excellent for cats, thanks to its high protein, low carbohydrate, and moderate fat content. However, some cats do not seem to appreciate its taste and texture. Additionally, we do not like the inclusion of meat by-products.

    Calorie Breakdown:

    Pros
    • High protein content
    • Contains essential nutrients such as taurine
    • Affordable
    Cons
    • Contains meat by-products
    • Some cats do not like the taste and texture

    2. Tiny Tiger Paté Turkey and Giblets Recipe Grain-Free Canned Cat Food

Tiny Tiger Paté Turkey and Giblets Recipe Grain-Free Canned Cat Food

This is yet another pate-style recipe by Tiny Tiger, with turkey as the main ingredient. Like the chicken pate, this turkey recipe has many other ingredients to increase its nutritional value. It also contains liver, meat by-products, and poultry giblet. However, besides turkey, all the other protein ingredients are vaguely named, making it difficult to ascertain their quality.

The Tiny Tiger Pate Turkey also has a natural flavor added to it to increase its palatability. It is fortified with vitamins, minerals, and amino acids to ensure a balanced meal. The only issue we have with this food is the few vaguely-named ingredients it contains. More often than not, they are usually filler ingredients, meaning that they add no value to the meal.

Nevertheless, the Tiny Tiger Pate Turkey recipe is still worth considering if you are on a budget, as it contains everything a cat needs for a balanced diet.

    Pros
    • Species-appropriate protein
    • Added flavor to enhance palatability
    Cons
    • Possible inclusion of filler ingredients

    3. Tiny Tiger Chunks in Gravy Chicken Recipe Grain-Free Canned Cat Food

Tiny Tiger Chunks in Gravy Chicken Recipe Grain-Free Canned Cat Food

Another popular Tiny Tiger recipe is this chunks-in-gravy chicken recipe. Unlike the pate-style recipes reviewed above, it consists of ground meat that is stabilized by guar gum to form chunks. The primary ingredient is chicken broth, with the main protein sources being chicken, turkey, dried eggs, and liver.

However, it also contains meat by-products. All these meats are mixed to form the chunks in the gravy. It also has several minerals, vitamins, amino acids, and fatty acids to make it complete nutritionally.

However, it contains potato starch, which nutritionally does nothing for a cat. It raises the food’s carbohydrate content to 17%, which is not ideal for cats. It also contains several vaguely-named ingredients that are likely nothing more than filler ingredients.

    Calorie Breakdown:

    Pros
    • Contains several sources of protein
    Cons
    • Potential inclusion of filler ingredients

    Conclusion

Tiny Tiger is a great option for those looking for budget-friendly wet cat food. It is high in protein, low in carbs, and has a moderate fat content, which is ideal for cats. Additionally, it contains several minerals, vitamins, and amino acids, such as taurine, to ensure that your cat gets a complete, well-balanced meal.

However, you should know that Tiny Tiger Cat Food does contain meat by-products. The main issue with by-products is that you can’t always tell which organs they were derived from, making them unideal for food-sensitive cats.

Nonetheless, based on what most customers say, Tiny Tiger Cat Food is a good brand. If your cat is not sensitive to certain foods, there’s no reason not to try this brand.
