Resting is an important part of every cat’s daily routine. Cats need to relax and recharge in a spot where they feel comfortable letting their guard down. If left to their own devices, cats will find places to nap, maybe under the bed or in a closet. These may not be the best options if the area is hard to reach for cleaning or there’s an emergency. Also, cats like to have special spots that they can own by leaving their scent. This helps them feel more at ease. Here are some tips for creating cozy resting areas in your home that both you and your cat will love.
Use unused space

Your cat may have already found some little unused space where she likes to nap. Either follow her lead or take a look around for any cozy nooks, like under a table or chair, that could easily be converted into a cat hideaway. Place a bed or blanket in the spot to give kitty something to leave her scent on and make it extra comfy. Plus, this makes it easier to just toss the blanket in the washing machine when needed.
Create a scene
What cat isn’t drawn to a sunny windowsill? If you have nice, deep windowsills in your home, why not create a little visual haven for your cat? Add some pillows or a cat bed, maybe a cat grass plant and a water fountain, and don’t forget a birdfeeder outside for added entertainment.

If you don’t have deep windowsills, there are several cat beds that attach to the glass with large suction cups. These can be positioned anywhere on the window to make it easy for your cat to climb on and off, plus they are easy to remove when it’s time to clean the window.
Repurpose creatively
You don’t have to buy a dozen cat beds; just look around your home for things like baskets and planters or anything that could be easily converted to a cat bed. Simply add a cushion or a blanket, and voila! Instant cozy cat bed that matches your décor.
Cats in Sinks

So many cats love to sit in sinks because sinks are smooth and cool and just the right size for a cat. If you don’t want cat hair clogging your drain, look for a cat bed that simulates a sink.
