Brace yourself for a dose of larger-than-life feline amazingness. His name is Andre the Giant Cat and, fittingly, he’s one extra large kitty. He was found prowling around the Colorado wilderness before being rescued — and now he’s becoming an Internet hit thanks to his impressive physique.
Here’s the essential information you need to know about Andre the Giant Cat.
Andre was brought to the Animal Rescue of the Rockies before becoming the in-house kitty host at High Paw Pet Supplies. Marvel at the scale! And once more for full impact! (For the record, the vet’s name is Heather.)
#throwbackthursday to my first vet visit to Park County Animal Hospital after I was brought to Animal Rescue of the Rockies!!! This is Heather one of the vet techs holding me! #tbt #bigcats #bigcat #andrethegiantcat #celebritycats #shopcat #giantcatsofinstagram #teamcatmojo #catstagram #catsofinstagram #rescuecats #rescueanimals #gato #vetvisit
Despite his apparent heft, Andre is actually a little underweight at the moment because of a parasite situation.
His ideal weight is 28 pounds.
We’ll repeat that. His ideal weight is 28 pounds … 28 pounds!
There’s a little of Bagheera going on here, right?
It takes two to hold Andre properly. This cat is probably bigger than some humans who’ve encountered him.
Andre is packing one manly set of kitty paws. Those might be as big as some Little League baseball gloves.
Do we have an aspiring cat shrimper here? That would make for a horror-movie-size shrimp, one that could come out of the sea and eat a whole town.
Once again, let’s all take a minute out of our hectic schedules and applaud this length. Long Cat, eat your heart out.
