Social Pets CBD Hemp Oil Review (2025): Pros, Cons & Verdict

Social Pets CBD Hemp Oil
Our Final Verdict

We give Social Pets CBD Hemp Oil a rating of 5 out of 5 stars.

Quality: 5/5
Flavors: 3.5/5
Price: 4/5

Social CBD manufactures a variety of products containing cannabidiol (CBD), a natural plant compound that’s been in the news a lot in the last decade. CBD is the second most prevalent active ingredient in marijuana and is derived directly from the hemp plant. It does not cause a high when taken alone.

Social’s broad-spectrum CBD oil for pets contains naturally occurring cannabinoids, terpenes, and phytonutrients found in the hemp plant without exposing your pet to tetrahydrocannabinol, the plant’s component that provides a “high.” Their products are made with hemp grown in the United States and have gone through rigorous tests to ensure they are as potent and high-quality as you should expect.

Read on to learn more about Social CBD’s products for pets, their effectiveness, and what to expect if you choose to try CBD with your pet.

Broad-Spectrum CBD Oil

When looking to buy CBD for your pet, you will likely encounter three different kinds: full-spectrum, broad-spectrum, and CBD isolate. Social’s CBD oil for pets has recently been reformulated with broad-spectrum CBD oil to ensure that the cannabinoid that gets users high—tetrahydrocannabinol (THC)—has been removed. When creating broad-spectrum CBD, manufacturers isolate and remove the desirable plant compounds and leave the THC out.

U.S. law states that all CBD products must contain 0.3% THC or less. However, Social Pets’ CBD drops go beyond what is required by law as they test at 0.0% THC. Providing your pet with THC-free CBD ensures there will be virtually no risk of THC poisoning, which can cause signs like sleepiness, stumbling, vomiting, and slowed heart rate.

Third-Party Tested

Social CBD provides consumers with their products’ third-party testing results so pet owners can make an informed decision about the products they’re giving their pets. These tests essentially verify the contents of the products to ensure you’re receiving exactly what you’ve paid for.

Third-party testing is important for CBD products as it screens for contaminants like pesticides, heavy metals, and bacteria, all of which can be harmful to your pet’s health. Social’s third-party testing checks for 30 residual contents and 60 pesticides.

You can check the certificates of analysis via lot number on the Social CBD website here.

Easy to Use

Social Pets’ CBD drops are extremely easy to use, even for the pickiest pets. Their drops can be added to your cat’s food, in their water bowl, or given orally. Because they’re unflavored, your cat likely won’t even be able to pick up on the fact that you’ve added CBD to their food or water. However, the company also manufactures flavored varieties, though they’re not currently available for sale on Social CBD’s main website. We were able to find them through other sellers in flavors like chicken, bacon, and peanut butter.

Discounts

Social CBD offers consumers several ways to save money on their orders.

Their loyalty program allows you to earn points to redeem for perks like free samples and free shipping. You’ll earn one point for every dollar spent and earn points for reaching various milestones, such as creating an account, reaching your anniversary, and even celebrating your birthday. For every 100 points, you’ll earn a $10 discount.

The company also offers 20% off all their regularly priced products to veterans and first responders for life.

Consumers can also save up to 35% by subscribing and saving to their favorite CBD products. Subscribers also receive free shipping and early access to new products.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Will my pet get high if I give them CBD oil?

Your cat will not get high from any cannabis product containing less than 0.3% THC. CBD products, such as Social Pets CBD oil, are made with the non-THC portions of the cannabis plant to give your pet the purported medicinal benefits of CBD without the high that recreational cannabis users seek.

How much CBD is in each serving?

According to the Social CBD website, there are 16.7 mg of isolate CBD in every serving.

How much CBD should I give my pet?

Dosing for pets can be tricky as the size of the animal plays a huge part. Cats and small dogs will require less CBD than their larger counterparts. As with humans, some pets may also be more sensitive to CBD, while others may need more before garnering a therapeutic effect.

The general rule is to begin with one to five milligrams of CBD oil per 10 pounds of body weight. Most CBD manufacturers recommend starting at the low end and working your way up from there if necessary. Be sure to allow some time for your pet to react to the CBD before changing their dose.

How can I find the lab results for my Social CBD pet oil?

Once you receive your CBD oil order, the lab identification and lot number are on the side of the packaging. You can then use those numbers to find the exact lot on the Social CBD Certificate of Analysis webpage.

Does CBD work for cats?

While CBD has many purported benefits for humans, its effectiveness in pets has not been as well-studied. However, there is some anecdotal evidence that CBD can have advantages for cats, including pain management, anxiety reduction, sleep, and appetite stimulation, among others.

Does Social CBD have a return policy?

Yes. Social CBD stands behind its products so wholeheartedly that it offers consumers a 30-day money-back guarantee on all its products. So, if you find that your pets aren’t responding to the CBD oil as you expected them to, you can return it to get your money back in full. However, you must purchase directly from the Social CBD website to take advantage of their return policy. Orders fulfilled via other retailers will not be eligible for returns or exchanges.

Will my pet have an adverse reaction to CBD?

While PetMD reports that adverse reactions to CBD are relatively rare in cats, your cat may exhibit some signs, such as drowsiness, gastrointestinal upset, pacing, or restlessness.
