Today’s featured cat is actually a dynamic duo: Gilligan and MaryAnn (you always liked her better than Ginger, anyway, right?) They’re longtime residents of the Animal D.R.E.A.M.S. shelter in Great Barrington, MA. Can you open your heart and home to this sweet formerly feral pair and give them a home for the holidays?
Here’s MaryAnn and Gilligan’s story:
Gilligan and MaryAnne have been best friends for the last 3 years. Gilligan was turned out onto the streets when his owner moved, and MaryAnne was a young feral kitten with whom Gilligan bonded. They were rescued together and it quickly became apparent that they must remain together.
In the passing of time, Gilligan has became quite heavy-in fact, he must find a human who will maintain exercise and a safe, strict diet so Gilligan loses weight. MaryAnne, in the meantime, loves Gilligan in all his chubbiness, and has become quite loving and trusting of her foster mom. These two beautiful cats, 4 years old now, will be perfect pets and companions in a quiet home. They love to snuggle on the bed at night, and MaryAnne has made so much progress, enjoying being petted and kneading and purring when near her human. Their ideal human companion will be gentle and patient with MaryAnne, and playful but firm about Gilligan’s diet and his need to lose weight for optimal health. These two sweet, devoted indoor-only cats are our staff pick!
