Arrival Story:
He was found by the side of an isolated and dangerous road as a kitten in the leggy stage, approximately 2-1/2 to 3 months old on June 23, 2007, so his birthdate is pure speculation on my part. He was found by the daughter of a friend of mine who lives in a no-animals-allowed apartment, so she brought him to me. We took to each other immediately and I knew that I had to keep him.

Bio:
He is a very happy little boy! He socializes well and likes to play with his special friend, my fluffy Monster/Jack (1-1/2 yrs old). I will wake up and he will be sleeping next to my head, his head beside mine on the pillow. He loves to give "kisses" to the people he likes when you bend down and put your head next to his. He does not vocalize much, but, when he does, he "sings!" At 7-8 months, he is almost grown and is very independent, but often suddenly still wants his mama's lap. Bel Prince died on December 29, 2007. He went outside with Jack but didn't come home. He had been hit by a car and left by the side of the road. Since then, Jack, Mesmer, Little Doll, Pi, and Princess are no longer allowed outside. I miss his sunny ways and loving kisses.

My Diary

Good Night, Sweet Prince

On the morning of Saturday, December 29, 2007, my neighbor knocked on my door to tell me that Prince was laying in the yard by the street. I had let him out on Friday afternoon, it became cold and rainy, and he didn't return home. When I heard the knock, I knew he was gone.
A careless driver had hit and left him to die. I picked up his cold little body and took him inside. My other kitties sniffed at the body. Jack, my big Fluffy Monster, Prince's best friend and playmate, licked at his paws. My neighbor later told me that my wild boy, my black velvety Mesmer (who was an outside cat until that day; he has since been taken inside and not allowed out) had been by the body and ran to the house and back to the body.
I called my friend. She came over and we took Prince to her property. Using two shovels, we dug in the drizzle of the gray morning and buried him. A metal heart with ribbons, really just a pot sticker, was used to mark his grave.
I will never forgive myself for not going out that evening and hunting for him, for going to bed without my precious baby inside. I'm so sorry, my Little Prince. Now there is no friend for Jack to play with, no grooming mate for Pi, no one to sleep beside me on my pillow.
