We wer ... Hazel Lucy was to go to Heaven at 12:30 PM EST. Our meowmy had come home from getting her hair cut about 11:30 and turned on the catputer to see what was happening. She went to FB first and saw the posting about Hazel Lucy. The next hour we all spent our time crying and praying for Hazel Lucy and her wonderful meowmy Julie. Hazel Lucy and her meowmy were and are such beautiful and caring souls who started the wonderful Purr Threads on Catster. Hazel Lucy touched all of our hearts in such a special way and she will always hold a very special place in our hearts and in the hearts of so many others. True love never dies and we do truly love Hazel Lucy and thank her for being a most special part of our lives. Please keep Hazel Lucy and her meowmy Julie in your purrs and prayers during this sad and difficult time. We know that it is never easy to say our earthly goodbyes. I don't like taking any medicine and vocalize this to my meowmy effury time she dispenses meds. I now have to take the predisilone effury other day and effury night I take a blue pill called Denamarin to help with any possible liver issues. On November 11, 2010, I went back to my doc doc because I had been having some issues with fluid throw up, lack of appetite and just not acting right. My doc doc ordered LOTS of blood work so, of course, I had to see the vampires in the back room. One test they did (PLI)came back with the report that my pancreatitis was back. The level (6) was not as high this time as when I was first diagnosed with pancreatitis in 2006 but we knew we had to start back on the prednisilone and Denamarin in an effort to prevent and help with any possible issues. I have been taking B12 shots monthly since 2006. Sometimes, I have to get the B12 shots more frequently, if needed. Overall, I am doing purrty good. Some days, my appetite is better than others. Dr. Booker said that when my appetite gets picky and puny, I need to take 1/4 to 1/8 of a mirtizapine to get my appetite going. It really works. I become famished. I still take Depo shots when needed and when I get Depo shots, I stop the prednisilone for a month. So, Meowmy tells me I just need to get with the program and take my meds like a big girl. Things were going along normally, except when it came time for me to be let out of the bedroom to join my furmily, my meowmy only allowed Mojo, Karisma and Precious to leave. What? Wait, you forgot me. I yowled to let Meowmy know she had left me behing by mistake... OR was it? She was not listening to my cries for help. Hmmmm. Purrty soon, she came in the room to get me but I suspected something was about to happen so I hid under the bed so Meowmy could not find me.... but she DID. She drug me out from under the bed and I was really screaming NO to her. She would NOT listen to me. I think the woman has gone deaf suddenly. When she took me out into the hall, I saw IT. The dreaded prison carrier. As Meowmy started to put me in, she spied Karisma. Karisma was furry comfortable inside it so I offered to allow Karisma to go with Meowmy rather than me. Now, you should have seen Meowmy trying to hold on to me and my purrtests and trying to get a reluctant Karisma out of the carrier. She knew IF she put me down, the chase would be on but Karisma was NOT coming out of the carrier... and my dad was not home. He went to breakfast with some of his furiends. Meowmy finally decided to try to dump Karisma out with one hand while still holding me tightly. Karisma finally popped out. Meowmy said that Karisma was as "dumb as a box of rocks". I don't think that was furry nice of Meowmy to say that to Karisma. I think I will report my meowmy for verbal abewse to Karisma. Off we headed to the doc doc's, after Meowmy picked up the imprisoned Hooch. I weighed in at 9.7 which showed a loss. I have not been eating well for the past few weeks. Dr. Booker gave me my B12 shot, a Depo, and my 3 year Rabies. Dr. Booker told Meowmy that if I don't pick up my eating in a few days, to call her and bring me back in. The Depo normally helps me after a few days. I am turning 10 on May 16th. Hooch told me that I can join Olde Furts when I turn 10. Yay. Meowmy neffur did find out which one of us (Mojo, Karisma or me) threw up on April 28th. She supposes it will have to remain a mystery. I am not eating well again and haven't been for a little while. I am going back on the 13th (Thursday) for my B12 and probably another Depo. That should help me for a while. Hooch has to go for his 1 week check up since going back on his insulin. Yesterday, Meowmy had to get a new bottle of his insulin and more syringes. We are hoping that he will bounce back and get to go off the insulin again before too long. We just don't know. We aren't expecting any work to be done around the house by "strangers" to upset ol' Hooch anytime soon... maybe he can get better and back to where he was before those workmen were here for two days. Meowmy's furiend Daryle goes to Ohio on Friday for her eye operation. The operation is scheduled for Monday. I could or could not be in need. However, Karisma has been just fine! She did NOT eat this morning... so that puts her in question. They said, "Purrs Purrs and more purrs for a happy result,thinking of you all at this difficult time Love always soc and familyxx" Lastly, my check out paper says that I got a penicillin injection, a short pan diagnostic 142, a complete blood count, a 9 chemistry panel (6 + lytes), a urinalysis, a lipase, a T4, blood pressure, my bordetella (intranasal), dental scaling and polishing, an intestinal worm check (negative, of course), a biopsy w/o microscopic description 1, Biomox Liquid 15 ml that I will take two times a day, two different listings of anesthesia and collect/dispose hazard specimen. Whew! That is a lot to say. So now, we must wait to hear from the biopsy report. Dr. Booker said she was happy that the growth was NOT attached to surrounding tissue. She did take a considerable amount of extra tissue, fat and such to be sure that she got effurything. She said that if the report does come back positive, she is feeling like we got it all BUT she also said that we must wait for the report. So, that is all we know for now. Love to all!!" I need to update on my human brofur Jim. He had a CT scan recently... before he went back to the lung specialist on December 23rd. Jim got both good and "iffy" news about his condition. The GOOD news is that the lungs are clear of the fungus! The "iffy" news is that he DOES have some scarring. We don't really know what that means for Jim down the road. His treatment with the antifungal will go on for another 6 or so months as the bone involvement takes much longer to cure. So, he is to return for another report on his progress with the fungus attacking his bones. He is still short winded but that may be the result of the scarring. The OTHER issue they found was that Jim has kidney stones waiting to "surprise" him and a cyst on his kidney that must be watched. Given the prognosis a few months back of terminal cancer, we are so very thankful and grateful to have gotten such wonderpur news about Jim. Thank you to effuryone who has prayed for my human brofur. The day before Thanksgiving, Hooch had to go back to the doc doc to be checked and that took a long time because they did blood work. At least, he didn't get a big bald spot this time. Meowmy asked them to only make a small place... so, you really don't notice it. Then she and my dad were preparing the Thanksgiving food for most of the week of Thanksgiving. That really took most of their time... they shopped for the food, prepared it to be cooked and then had to do the cooking. We had a CROWD for Thanksgiving. There were 18 strangers in our home. Yikes.... we hid... actually, Meowmy locked us in different rooms to keep those strangers away from all of us. The day after Thanksgiving, my pawrents left early in the morning and went to one of the local malls in that madness called Black Friday. The crowds were out and about. They did NOT go to shop but to meet up with a dear furiend and his furmily who had driven down from High Point for the day. When I say the day, I mean the day. It was dark when my pawrents returned home and our dinner was LATE. This is not cool. On Saturday, my pawrents left in the morning to go to the NC mountains (Saluda) for the day to celebrate a 50th wedding anniversary of a family member. AGAIN, my pawrents were gone all day long and it was really LATE when they returned... well past dinner. Meowmy was even late by almost an hour giving Hooch his insulin. Even she was NOT a happy camper about that. On Sunday, my pawrents went to the same mall to meet up with three of my dad's cousins who had driven in for the anniversary pawty. However, since Hooch has had the best month he has had since February, things are calming down for a while with him. Maybe I can get more diary time now? Patchez wrote about her past few days just a little while ago. Now it is my time to write. I have been doing so-so lately. Dr. Booker was trying to get me back to once a month with my B12 shots but that just doesn't seem to be working for me. I end up needing a Depo about effury 4 weeks and sometimes I don't make it 4 weeks before I need one. Otherwise, my days are purrty good. It seems that both Patchez and I ended up throwing up on Thursday, the 22nd. Patchez threw up all day long and effurything she ate. I threw up all my breakfast and lots of fluid. I was furry hungry on Thursday morning and ate almost all my food, so my meowmy was a little shocked when I threw up. I was acting furry normal until the throwing up started. I acted hungry again later on that day. This time my meowmy gave me my canned W/D and I ate 1/2 can. I kept it down. Thursday night, I got the other 1/c and ate that and kept it down. Meowmy was feeling okay about me then. However on Friday morning, I showed NO interest in the canned or dry food. I was scheduled for my B12 so Meowmy did not allow me out of the bedroom, plus she was keeping Patchez in the bathroom because of all the throwing up from Thursday. Meowmy was furry naughty because she kept us both prisoners in a room until the doc doc appointment. When time for the doc doc visit, my meowmy just marched in and picked me up and put me in the prison carrier. How rude. She did not even give me the opportunity to escape. I was the first to be caught and I was set out in the hallway while my meowmy tricked Patchez. I did try to warn Patchez with my wails but it was to no avail. Poor girl did not see it coming and trusted our meowmy. When Meowmy captured Patchez, my dad grabbed my prison carrier and out to the car we marched and then my meowmy brought out Patchez all wrapped in towels. How funny was that to see! When we arrived at the doc doc's I was weighed. I was 10.2 pounds. Yay. I was furry relieved that Patchez was the first victim. I sat quietly and watched all the goings on with quiet fear. When my turn came, I was not expecting what I got. My meowmy told Dr. Booker what was happening with me and about my throwing up on Thursday and lack of eating Friday morning. The first thing she did was to give me the B12 shot. Then she decided to do an x-ray of me, to. What is with my doc doc's fascination with x-rays of us? Pfffffttt. My doc doc decided to do the x-ray after mashing around my belly and my reaction to having my temperature taken. I screamed bloody murder. I have never acted that way for a temp check in my life. My doc doc decided that I had some constipation going on. The first thing they did was to take me back into the back and they stuck a suppository in my you-know-where. I let the world know that it hurt. I screamed so loud that it could be heard outside. While I was in the back, the vampires came to visit me, too. Theyu did a complete blood count and a NSAID monitoring panel 5 Chem (This is a 5 chemistry blood panel including: ALT, ALKP, AST, BUN and CREA.) All my blood work came back within normal. My doc doc decided that my problem was basically the constipation. The last time I had such an issue was in January 2008. Then my doc doc said that my meowmy could bring me home and hope the suppository worked OR that I could have someone called Ene Ma visit me while I was there. Do you know what my meowmy decided? Well, she decided to let Ene Ma visit me! For those of you who have not had the pleasure of meeting Ene Ma, I have a word of advice to you - JUST SAY NO! Ene Ma is not a pleasant visitor. I yelled when Ene Ma came to visit... loudly. It did not take too long for Ene Ma to do her job. Sandy came out and reported that it was quite successful and very large. Dr. Booker suggested that I remain there for a few hours to let any leftovers happen there rather than in our home or the prison carrier. Sandy told Dr. Booker that she did NOT know how anything else could possibly come out. She said it was enormous. Dr. Booker went on and gave me a Depo shot in case this treatment upset the apple cart. Huh? I have an apple cart, too? My meowmy decided to take Dr. Booker's advice and left me with those vampires and other staff for several hours. Meowmy picked me up about 2:30. I was so happy to be back home. I hope you will learn that you cannot go only b ... Everyone in the apartment complex I lived in knew who Ugly was. Ugly was the resident tomcat. Ugly loved three things in this world: fighting, eating garbage, Oh, and shall we say, love. The combination of these things combined with a life spent outside had their effect on Ugly. To start with, he had only one eye, and where the other should have been was a gaping hole. He was also missing his ear on the same side, his left foot appeared to have been badly broken at one time, and had healed at an unnatural angle, making him look like he was always turning the corner. His tail had long ago been lost, leaving only the smallest stub, which he would constantly jerk and twitch. Ugly would have been a dark gray tabby striped-type, except for the sores covering his head, neck, even his shoulders with thick, yellowing scabs. Every time someone saw Ugly there was the same reaction. "That's one UGLY cat!!" All the children were warned not to touch him, the adults threw rocks at him, hosed him down, squirted him when he tried to come in their homes, or shut his paws in the door when he would not leave. Ugly always had the same reaction. If you turned the hose on him, he would stand there, getting soaked until you gave up and quit. If you threw things at him, he would curl his lanky body around feet in forgiveness. Whenever he spied children, he would come running meowing frantically and bump his head against their hands, begging for their love. If ever someone picked him up he would immediately begin suckling on your shirt, earrings, whatever he could find. One day Ugly shared his love with the neighbors huskies. They did not respond kindly, and Ugly was badly mauled. From my apartment I could hear his screams, and I tried to rush to his aid. By the time I got to where he was laying, it was apparent Ugly's sad life was almost at an end. Ugly lay in a wet circle, his back legs and lower back twisted grossly out of shape, a gaping tear in the white strip of fur that ran down his front. As I picked him up and tried to carry him home I could hear him wheezing and gasping, and could feel him struggling. I must be hurting him terribly I thought. Then I felt a familiar tugging, sucking sensation on my ear- Ugly, in so much pain, suffering and obviously dying was trying to suckle my ear. Tyler had to go to the Bridge on Thursday evening. We are all in shock and just heartbroken since learning this very sad news. My furmily and I send Tyler and his grieving furmily our love and sympathy. Tyler has always made us laugh. He was such a brave kitty and is one of the first kitties we loved from the get-go after we joined Catster. Tyler has faced his illness with such grace, dignity and humor throughout the whole time. Tyler will always be among our list of special heroes! The Rainbow Bridge gained a very special angel, indeed. Yesterday as Hooch was preparing to write his diary was when we learned the sad, sad news about Tyler and our typist had to gather herself enough to help Hooch write his own diary. I had to go to the doc doc with Hooch yesterday. I have not been eating well lately and my meowmy was afraid the pancreatitis issue could be returning. I have been blessed with 3 years of purrty good health since I suffered that horrible spell with the pancreatitis. I do have to get B12 shots monthly and an occasional Depo to help ward off the inflammation. So far that seems to be doing the trick but lately these "off" spells have come a little more frequently. So, Meowmy pulled me screaming out from under the sofa yesterday morning. I already knew what was coming so I had sought refuge under the sofa. That did NOT work for me. Meowmy put me in the carrier prison and grabbed Hooch's carrier prison and off we headed to see the doc doc. As my meowmy had expected, I had lost weight. I am down to 9.8 pounds and that is 7/10 of a pound (that is half a pound - a lot in us kitties) lost since July 24th (two weeks ago). My doc doc decided to give me a B12 shot and a Depo in hopes of warding off any problems. We shall see. This morning I only ate part of the feeding but that should begin to pick up if I react to the shots as I normally do. Harry and his pawsome furmily sent me a purrty healing rose. I was peacefully sleeping on the DISH box that Kujo ... 11.2 pounds. I was weighed and I was 9.7 pounds. I have not been eating well this week. On Wednesday, I hardly ate any breakfast and when my meowmy got home from picking up my brofur Hooch, she found I had thrown up my breakfast. I did not eat that well yesterday nor this morning. So, my doc doc looked at me and took my temp which was normal (she wondered if I had the mystery illness that Cassidy recently had). So, the doc doc decided to give me a Depo and B12 shot today and told my meowmy that she wants to hear that my appetite and eating have picked up. I will try to do my best on that. My brofur Hooch went to T4Paws on Monday to receive his iodine treatment for his hyperthyroidism. He had to stay two nights and he got to come home on Wednesday. We were happy to see Hooch come home. My big human brofur had a biopsy done on Wednesday and my pawrents had to leave for his home at 5 AM today to have him back at the hospital by 8 AM. His procedure went well and the results are expected back soon. The doctor does expect that it is cancer but is hoping that it will be operable after treatment with chemo. He isvery hopeful and so are we. Next week my brofur gets a PET scan and meets with the doctors the day afterwards. The doctor today said that my brofur's tumor is 5 x 7 centimeters and that he suspects it will be a 2b or 3a class. My pawrents sadly learned on Wednesday night that one of their dearest furiends was killed in a traffic accident. It seems that she was killed on the same road my pawrents traveled on to pick up my brofur Jim to take him to the hospital for his biopsy. It happened about 11 AM and, while she did not die instantly, she died at the hospital before her husband could reach her. Her name is Cecelia Pearce and she will be dearly missed. She was one of the sweetest persons you could ever meet and gave so much of herself to so many in need. In fact, she just got back from a week at the beach where she cooks each year for special needs children at a camp to which they go in the summer. And she was on her way to help relieve her sister from caring for their mother who had suffered a stroke about a month ago. My pawrents are just devastated over the loss of their friend. Tiskers has been diagnosed today with HCM (Cardiomyopathy). We are in such shock. Tiskers' meowmy noticed he was breathing faster than normal and took him to the doc doc this morning about 11 to be checked out. The doc doc did blood work and x-rayed Tiskers. The x-rays revealed that there was fluid surrounding his lungs and sent Tiskers to a cardiologist where it was determined that Tiskers has Cardiomyopathy. Tiskers is the littermate (full blood brother) of Mittens and Biscotti and the half brother of Snowmitts. Please keep Tiskers and his furmily, especially his meowmy and daddy in your purrs and purr that Tiskers will feel better with his medicines and have many more years with us. As you know, my brofur Hooch has been sick since February 18, when he was ... Picasso's pawrents) to spend Saturday night with us. Before Hooch got sick, they had plans to either meet at I-95 and I-26 and have dinner - then Hooch got sick and they decided to meet in Columbia, SC IF Hooch was well enough for my meowmy to feel comfortable leaving him for about 5 hours - then, when Hooch did better on Friday, they decided on Friday evening that it would be okay for Auntie Barbi and Unkie Rob to come stay the night with us on Saturday night and have a nice visit! My meowmy got up Saturday morning and washed the clean sheets... you heard me right... she washed clean sheets because she wanted them to be really fresh. Then she made the bed up. She is also kitty sitting and she had to go get the instructions on how to manage the alarm system in the home where she is kitty sitting. Then she came home and had to clean all our 12 litter boxes... a daily ritual because we expect to use only clean litter boxes! Then she scrubbed out the bathroom upstairs and went to the grocery store to pick up a few items and when she got home Auntie Barbi and Unkie Rob were here. They sat around a chatted for a while and then decided they were hungry... so they went to a local Italian restaurant and had a nice dinner. After that, they all went to feed the kitties that my meowmy is watching for a week. When they came back from dinner, Auntie Barbi brought a package and we opened it. Guess what? Inside was a cool Kitty Tumbler and crinkle pad that will attach to a Cat Cube. Karisma hogged it immediately. And Auntie Barbi gave my meowmy a cool Disney character coffee mug and a lovely soy candle that has the Sheer White Cotton fragrance. It smells so nice. Now, Hooch was aware there was a strange man in our home. When it was time for bed, you won't believe what Hooch decided to do! He hissed at Unkie Rob. My meowmy was surprised at his behavior and so was my dad. Normally, he just stays out of sight if he is uncomfortable. While I am never out of sight, I will keep my distance if I don't know whomever is visiting. I just sit and watch and definitely listen. Then, this morning, they got up and had some coffee and went out to breakfast. When they got back, Auntie Barbi and Unkie Rob had to get on the road heading back to New Jersey. Hooch was well-behaved with Unkie Rob today BUT when my dad came in after saying good-bye to them, silly ol' Hooch hissed at him. He must have lost his kitty head for a moment. He collapsed on his side gasping for air with his neck extended, stopped breathing after choking on fluid and throwing up twice in a row. His meowmy was talking to Picasso's meowmy at the time. Sammy's meowmy dropped the phone and rushed him to the Emergency Pet Hospital, trying to get him there before his heart failed. When she arrived at the hospital, he was breathing very heavily and his mouth was open with his little tongue out. His chest congestion made it difficult for him to breathe. He was re-admitted to the hospital immediately and they put him back in the oxygen chamber and did another X-ray and gave him an injection to help clear the congestion from his chest and lungs. He will have more blood work done. His meowmy will find out this morning what to do next with her baby boy. She is in need of two surgeries to save her life a ... Lil' Muppet needs our help. She is in need of two surgeries to save her life and her meowmy can't afford it. We can all help out. The surgeries will cost around $5,000 and that is a lot of money for anyone today. The surgeries she will require on her ears are called a TECA (Total Ear Canal Ablation) & a Bullaosteotomy. They will remove her ear canals and seal them up. The Bullaosteotomy is the scraping of the Bulla, located behind the ear canal, to make sure no debri or infection is trapped in them before my ear canals are sealed up. There are some risks involved. The surgeries may leave her completely deaf and there is a possibility of permanent facial paralysis. Her surgeon promises her that this is very rare and only ever happened once with all of the TECA’s he’s performed. Since the 24th, we have lost some beautif ... Kinsey went to the Bridge during the night. Kinsey was preceded to the Bridge by Macallan and Jazzi. I know there are others on Catster who joined the angels at the Bridge and for those we say our sad purrs but these three were the ones we knew and are the ones for whom we are grieving. I purr that all the furmilies will be given the peace and comfort they need at this sad time in their lives. Here is KINSEY'S diary entry today. I hope that she won't mind my using it to remember her. October 30th 2008 5:47 am First of all I want to thank everyone for the pmails, purrs, prayers and rosettes. I'm overwhelmed with the outpouring of love from my friends here at catster! Mommy will try very hard to answer all of you. I was diagnosed with a malignant tumor. I knew mommy was having a difficult time deciding what course of action to take; surgery and/or chemotherapy was suggested by the vet, but he also said that the chances of me surviving or living much longer than a few months was minimal. So, I chose for myself, so mommy wouldn't have to. During the night, I slipped quietly off to the rainbow bridge. I met my doggie brofur Corky for the first time! He is showing me around. :-) Again, thank you so much friends. I had 12 wonderful years here on earth, and I wouldn't trade a second of it. He has been doing okay since his diagnosis on the drugs they prescribed but has been slowing down some in recent weeks. It seems that Sunday night, little Boogie had a seizure. It scared his mom. On Thursday evening (17th), my human sisfur who lives in Wichita, KS came for a visit. She w ... Calamity. She was thanking me fur helping her to celebrate her 3rd birthday! She said, "I am very lucky to have a wonderfur furmaly like yours to enjoy it with." We are lucky to have Calamity, too. Then on Friday morning (the 18th) things seemed normal but busier than usual. My pawrents and sisfur were in and out all morning. They came home in the late afternoon and I heard my meowmy go upstairs. I wondered why she went upstairs because she doesn't go upstairs too often. And my dad and sisfur were downstairs. It did not take me too long to figure out why my meowmy went upstairs, however. I heard her come back downstairs and I thought I heard the sound that brings my hair to stand on end. Then, my meowmy came into the back part of the house where I was innocently sitting in the middle of the family room floor! She looked at me and I KNEW! I bolted to run under the sofa where I felt my meowmy could not reach me. My thinking was not factual, however. The next thing I knew, she had pulled the sofa out and I found myself uncovered and in plain sight. I bolted toward the hallway and the safety of my bedroom only to find the door shut. Oh no, I was trapped! Alas, my meowmy scooped me up and had the nerve to take me into the front hall and put me in the dreaded kitty prison cage. I knew what was about to happen. I screamed for my human sisfur to help me but she just looked at me. Then, my sisfur did it! She helped my meowmy! What is going on? They put me into the car and off we headed to the doc doc. Not again! We arrived at the doc doc's and they had a room full. Why are all these humans taking these poor innocent fur babies to see this torturer? Soon it was my turn! They took me in the examination room and opened my metal door. I was NOT coming out... not me! When the doc doc and her assistant entered, I was still refusing to come out. They thought they were being furry cute and turned my prison cage upside down where I should have slid right out. Heh heh. I had attached myself to the holes in the sides and I was NOT budging. You should have seen their faces when I did not spill out. Unfortunately, they put my prison cage on the metal examining table and reached inside and forced me out. Pffffftttt! I did put up a valiant struggle but I was not able to keep my place. They put me on the table and the doc doc jabbed me with the needle. I was relieved that it was over for the month. They put me back in the prison cage and let me head home. He will be okay with care and special food. Well, they have a new kitty brofur named Simba. Simba is really not new to us as my meowmy and Boots' dad were there when Simba was rescued from the pound when he was about 6 weeks of age. My meowmy's furiend adopted Simba originally. Unfortunately, his meowmy got furry sick and had to go to a nursing home as the result of too many seizures causing health and mental issues. Her husband is much older than she is and has recently cracked his back and is not in good health and is trying to find good homes for all of Simba's other siblings. They are older cats, for the most part, and this will be a tough job. My meowmy is trying to help him find them good homes. She is furry happy that Simba will have a good home. First, our pawrents had come ho ... Boots had improved enough from his scare with kidney failure to come home. Because Boots' pawrents had to go to work, my meowmy said she would pick him up and take him to his home where he could resume his happy life. Meowmy was gone a while and when she returned, she had Boots' brofur Fluff with her and all of us are wondering why Fluff had come to visit. Now, here is the catch. The answer to why Fluff was visiting became furry clear. Fluff's pawrents arrived about lunch time and my meowmy and his pawrents went to lunch and left Fluff here. We are all saying "Huh?" When they returned from their lunch, they pulled a furry sneaky one on both Fluff and me! My meowmy lovingly picked me up and then proceeded to carry me to the front hallway and I spied IT! The dreaded cat carrier prison. This is normally NOT a good sign. AND I spied that Fluff had one also. UH OH! This can not be a good sign at all! Meowmy put me in the prison and Fluff was placed in his! Then I knew what was about to happen to me. Sure enough, off we head to the doc doc's! We were both carried in and put in one room. Well, at least we could be supportive of each other. They took me first, thank goodness because what they did to little Fluff would have really made me nervous. All I got was the tech grabbing me by my neck and the doc doc quickly gave me my B-12 monthly shot. "Ouch" But Fluff, oh no! They take him back in the lab and you heard him squeal loudly. I am thinking what can they be doing to him. I later found out that they stuck him and took some of his blood. What, are they vampires? And then, you hear another squeal and it doesnt' sound like he is enjoying the next insult. He told me they stuck a white rod where the sun doesn't shine to see if he had worms. Like, why would he have worms? He has had two worm treatments already, he told me. Then they brought the poor little fellow back in the room where they had us captured... closed the door to keep us there. Then they give Fluff the same treatment they gave me! They took this needle and jabbed him and called it his "Rabies" shot. Poor little guy. Then, after all of that abuse, they tried to drown him with shoving liquid down his nose while holding him. I could tell he was not having a furry good day. BUT, now get this, the doc doc gives Fluff some meat baby food. Hey, where's mine? Pfffftttt! I did overhear a discussion of Fluff's next visit. I won't be telling him what that is all about. They are going to take his... er, ah... well, manhood from him. Poor baby! He asked me what "fixed" means because he said he wasn't broken and wanted to know why they planned to fix him. Sometime bet ... Boots was playing at his home on Sunday. Sometime between 10:30 am and 8:30 pm, he found a little colorful ball that he found on the floor and he decided to play with it. What he did not know is that it was a gel Advil capsule full of what is poison to us cats. He bit into the capsule during his playful attempts with the little ball. After his pawrents got in that night, they found where some cat had thrown up in the kitchen and also upstairs in the bedroom. Since they have two cats (Boots and Fluff) they had no idea of which cat had thrown up. But his pawrents did find the partially deflated Advil gel capsule, however, so they knew what had probably caused the sickness. His pawrents called the vet the next day. The doctor said that he was probably okay if he kept his breakfast and dinner down which he did. Now, remember that his pawrents still did not know which cat had gotten sick at this point. The vet told his pawrents to keep Boots and Fluff in different rooms for 48 hours so they both went to their appointed bathrooms. During the next 48 hours, both Boots and Fluff acted alright. On Wednesday morning, it was discovered that it was Boots who was the sick one. He was not feeling well and was not interested in his food and had thrown up fluid. So, now they knew which cat had gotten into the Advil. His pawrents called the vet and she told them to bring him right in, which they did. After doing his blood panels, the vet found Boots was in severe kidney failure and they were given no guarantee as to whether he would pull through this illness. They started an IV and put a collar on poor Boots and were about to put the catheter and pump on him when my meowmy rushed over to see him because my pawrents had a trip they had to take. The vet let my meowmy hold Boots for a while until his pawrents could come back. While Meowmy was holding Boots, the vet said they needed to give him a shot for nausea. Boy, did he scream according to Meowmy. The vet told her it burned and was not pleasant for him. His pawrents arrived and held him for a while and then they put him in his cube so urgent treatment could begin. When his pawrents took him in on Wednesday, his levels were my levels were at 98 but were supposed to be between 16 and 32. This was not good. Sometime during his first night at the hospital, Boots somehow managed to get his IV out... that big plastic collar did not stop him. On Thursday morning, despite Boots efforts to get the tubes out, his levels dropped almost twenty points to 74. The vet said that was furry encouraging but would not committ as to whether he would or could make it or not. She said it would depend on his next levels which would be taken on Friday morning. They had to put the tubes back in but because his veins kept blowing out, they had to use his rear leg. So, now Boots has three shaved legs and a shaved neck. We did not know what to expect this morning (Friday) but we knew it was critical. Imagine our surprise that Boots' levels had come down from 74 the day before to 18 (normal is between 16 and 32). His pawrents were furry nervous because the little rascal had again pulled out his IV. He IS a determined little fellow. When the vet came out and told them to "Take him home!" they could not believe their ears. His pawrents had to go to work so they called my meowmy to see if she could pick him up and take him to his home. She did and she said he was so happy to be at his home. He and Fluff played and played and Boots was begging for food. We are all so happy he is doing well. He will always have damaged kidneys and will be on K/D food for the rest of his life but the vet expects it to be a normal life. Boots has to go back in several weeks for another blood panel to see where his levels are then... IF he has not problems before that time. We have not been in touch as often lately and they were touching base. How furry sweet of them. On June 3, I got a furry nice flag from my furiend Tigger. Tigger was wishing me a Happy Flag Day early. Flag Day is the 14th of June. That was furry sweet of Tigger. On June 10, I got the cutest beach ball from Simba with the most adorable message and picture. The picture showed a furry large beaver that was saying "Ack! It ate the beach bal! MOL!" Simba crossed the Rainbow Bridge on May 23 at the age of 20 and her meowmy has to be one of the bravest meowmies on Catster. My meowmy admires Simba's meowmy so much and wants Simba and her meowmy to know how touched we were with this special rosette... she sent many out to furiends and the humor is there. My meowmy still cries about Simba, as I am sure does Simba's meowmy and many others. Chin Chin recently crossed the Rainbow Bridge. For some reason my meowmy's eyes are really leaking with this gift. Luka sent me a nice pink ribbon rosette with nice birthday wishes and a nice message about my birthday page. Thank you for noticing it, Luka! Zoe sent me a beautiful heart rosette. She sent concats on my engagement, too. You know Zoe is an angel. She is HRH, angel princess Zoe. She is furry beautiful. Teebo and Callie gave me a birthday hat with nice birthday greetings.
