eating whenever possible, piggy back rides, laying on me on the couch, quiet, investigating anything new in the house, looking out the window, attention, fresh catnip

hates everyone who's not in our immediate family with a vengeance but she likes my husband now, loud noises, other cats, when she doesn't get enough attention

Favorite Toy:
strings, boas, laser toy, usually anything stringy or with catnip

Favorite Nap Spot:
on her couch cushion, next to me in bed, on top of the couch, near papasan chair

Favorite Food:
right now it's Iams dry food, i feed her scraps of leftover meat sometimes and she loves bread too

she is the most beautiful cat i've ever seen OR felt, someone once asked if we fed her butter because she's so soft (haha), has a very pleasant meow with middle pitch, knows her name, quick learner, she's courteous enough to give "warning" nip bites

Arrival Story:
moved to a new town when I was 9 and a half, so my mom and dad got me a cat (i'm an only child). buttsie was my best friend and i adored her from the start. she was from a farm with lots of other cats, and now she's a city kitty!

she was a runt, and only a couple months old when we got her. like an ugly duckling! since she was on a farm, we had to rid of lice and ear mites. then she evolved into this beautiful cat. declawed. tried to impregnate her once by taking her a a friend's farm for a night while she was in heat. she did get pregnant, but it was one stillborn. it was so traumatic for me both to see her little paws declawed and her bad pregnancy i cried both times. then we got her spayed. she came home drugged and it scared the crap out of me. i have strong empathy pains for her. the vet said she had an abnormally large uterus. strange, eh? since then, she's had one bladder infection. luckily i caught it in time (her little box was in the basement and i didn't know that she was having problems going potty at first). she had to get stones out of her bladder and go in for surgery. after that it looked like she had liposuction! she was happier and stronger than ever. so far we have to feed her special urinary tract food and put her on a diet. she is a little hefty because she loves to eat! at her last checkup the vet said she's in great condition and will prolly live to at least 20 since she's an indoor cat. whoopie! i love u, buttsie. p.s. she has absolute white fur, whitest i've ever seen, and the most beautiful green eyes! Update: September 2009 Buttsie was diagnosed as having 80-90% cancer from a mammary tumor. I noticed something irregular on her tummy and went to the vet right away. We have her surgery planned soon and hope it falls in the 10-20% chance that it is benign. Update: July 2010: Buttons turns 17 today! She is skinnier than in her youth, but is purring and loving as usual. After we got her little tumor out, they said while it was malignant, it had a very low change of metastasizing. Her mammary glands are seemingly cancer-free for now! Love you Buttsie! Update: August 2010, Buttsie went to the vet this weekend and they said her kidneys were starting to slowly fail. I looked up her BUN and creatinine when the vet gave me the numbers and she is about a stage III. So we are putting her on KD food and hoping for the best. She is right now at 8 lbs, which is quite small for her, who is usually overweight. Love you Buttsie!! Update: April 4, 2011: Buttsie had problems walking last week, the white in her eyelids started to show, and her whiskers were twitching. After upping her IV fluids to once per day for about a week and a half, we noticed that she was not reviving or feeling much better afterwards. We had to make the difficult choice to put her to sleep on March 31, 2011. It will remain one of the hardest choices I have had to make. I know it was the logical thing to do because she was very sick, but she was my fighter kitty and super beautiful and loving to the end. She was just a few months short of 18 years old and was my beloved childhood pet. I miss you my beautiful kitty Buttsie. Rest in peace. I love you.
