Well, here I am. I've always enjoyed the good life so my recent health issues have caught my Mom off guard. I am an 11 y/o Egyptian Mau.

I have had seizure like episodes, but the vet says they are not full seizures. I am undiagnosed officially, except for the urinary tract infection. But my main symptoms have been loss of muscle tone, loss of balance, refusing food and water, not being myself.

My first seizure like episode occurred on Thursday at the vets office. They gave me valium and cortisone in a shot immediately. Then Friday morning I had several more episodes in the space of 1-2 hours. These are mild in that they come on suddenly, causing my body to tense and tremble. Then very quickly, 2-3 seconds later, its over and I let out a loud stressed MEOW. I remain conscious and in control of all of my bodily functions.

I am on meds for the first time in my life:

Amoxicillian liquid - 2cc 2x daily
Phenobarbitol - 15 mg daily, half in AM and half in PM
Prednisolone - I start this Sunday night and the dosage will vary

Mom is really worried about me and hopes that my health returns quickly with all the great advice she has been getting.
