Spikey is in cat heaven today. He had an inoperable facial tumor for the better part of a year.
This past week, he had really stopped eating. He was still playing, and grooming himself.

We decided to take him to the vet last week, and she gave him a month....
She said if the tumor ruptured, it would be a painful death.

We said goodbye. I am crying too hard now to finish this propery. I know I am crying for my loss. He deserved to go peacefully and as free of pain as possible.

We love you Spikey, our big boy cat. We will all miss you. You had a whole second family in our neighborhood who will miss you too.

If there is a heaven for cats, I know you are there, as you had a sweet soul and not a single mean bone in your body.

I had cancer too and came here to kitty heaven some time ago. I can show you the best place for nip and ice cream :) But first, let's sprinkle a little angel dust on your family so they feel better.

Thank you for taking care of Spike and giving him the life he deserved. Thank you for showing him mercy and love in the end by sparing him pain. I'm sure he was grateful for every day he spent with you.

I assure you there IS a heaven for animals and Spike is here and doing very well. He's so grateful to you for all the love and tenderness you've given him, that was really heaven to him. We're so sorry for your loss and we know how painful this is, firsthand. Please know we're thinking of you and if you need a hug, just ask.
