indoors Arrival Story: I adopted Maxie when she was 3 years old from a no-kill animal shelter. I'd just left my ex husband and my son really wanted a pet. We went to the local pet store that offers cat adoptions, and my son picked Maxie out from about 20 different cats. Bio: I don't know much about Maxie's past. It took her about 6 months to a year before she would come out of hiding and interract with the humans in the family. She is most taken with my mother, it was Mom's bed that Maxie hid under. She would come out at night to eat and use the litter box. She eventually warmed up to me and for a while would sit on my lap while I was using the computer. She does not like being picked up and held (she will climb into your lap when she wants to), but loves to be brushed and petted.
