Arrival Story:
I thought Seven would want a friend. And I knew I wanted to find a cat that fit the name Foot Foot. (If you want to know why, look up The Shaggs.) I went to this house in a crazy gated community near Coney Island in Brooklyn, and inside the house was overtaken by cages and cages of rescued cats, over 200 in all. I looked at every cat in every room and then went back to the living room. There, in the corner, was a cage with four adolescent kittens in it--three standard gray, and one enchanting tabby calico who was pushing up against the door eagerly. I picked her up, she nestled into my arms and started purring madly and licking my neck, and I knew instantly: This was Foot Foot. Seven, it turned out, did not actually want another friend. But I cast her true wishes and surly growling aside. This was love.

Bio:
Foot Foot has something weird with her back legs--a patellar luxation, I hear--that makes her both knock-kneed and duckfooted. She walks like a ballerina who is always plie-ing, and when she runs she hops fast like a bunny. She can also climb ladders, the hilariousness of which must be seen to be understood. Her fur is chinchilla-soft. Also she is not entirely cat. There is clearly some squirrel, some beagle, and some rabbit in her.
