Arrival Story:
Trivet was seven months old and living at the Alexandria Animal Shelter after having been a stray. He had an upper respiratory infection and was older than many of the kittens in the shelter. His new mommies decided to get him out of there as quickly as possible. Unfortunately, he became sicker while the adoption was being processed. The combination of illness and new-home trauma kept Trivet from eating for days, and he had to get subcutaneous fluid injections from the vet to keep him from dehydrating. He also got nose drops and oral antibiotics to treat his infection. He did not care for that. Happily, he made a full recovery.
Bio:
Trivet prefers a quiet, dignified life. He is the Niles Crane of kitties and is offended by those he regards as unrefined, for example, dogs, or humans who want to pick him up. Although his love of the finer things in life does mean a constant struggle with his weight, Trivet is health-conscious and tries to get 23 hours of sleep everyday.
