Leave a treat for Hobbes - A Purrfect Angel

Nicknames: Hobbsicle, Marshmallow Butt, Scoop, Super Kitty, Poppy, Puppy Dog

Coloration: White

Likes: Being on the patio and watching the wild critters in the yard. He loooooved chipmunks!

Pet-Peeves: Closed doors.

Favorite Toy: His wonder-feather-on-a-stick!

Favorite Nap Spot: Squished up against his mommy, in a box filled with packing papers or, sometimes, in the back of a cupboard. Before his brother, Callie, passed on, he was often found curled up with him, as seen in the pictures here.

Favorite Food: Tuna, Tuna Florentine Fancy Feast

Skills: He always knew how to make his mom laugh. He was quite a skillfull hunter of inanimate objects, often bringing "dead" fuzzy toys, pillows, wool scraps and other things to her while announcing the gifts in an adorable muffled meow.

Dwells:
indoors

Arrival Story: Hobbes was born in the Seattle area with a mixed litter including only one other white cat.
He and his litter-mate, Calvin, who is now an angel, were adopted by his father, who had been wanting twin white kitties for some time. A little over a year later, he met his mommy when she came to stay with them.
He went through many changes, including several moves, adoption of a younger brother, Rucifee, a cross-country road trip, the separation of his people-parents and a new life with his mommy in Northeastern Pennsylvania.

Bio: Like his mom, Hobbes was a sleepy-head and could probably sleep for 16-18 hours at a time.
During his waking ours, he was quite a funny little one! He spent most of those hours trying to find fun, or getting into some kind of mischief!
He's was a very outdoorsy kind of cat and seemed to think it very unfair for an "outside cat" like him to be kept indoors. Unfortunately for him but luckily for his mommy, all of his escape attempts failed. After all, it's quite hard for a perfectly clean bright-white fluffy cat to hide.
Also like his mommy, Hobbes was a neat-freak. He could spend countless hours cleaning himself...or his brothers.
Although he was shy around strangers, Hobbes was always a gracious host when people came to visit. When out and about, he received pets and adoration from all he encountered. People just fell in love with him. He always seemed to have a little smile on his face and his squishiness was irresistible.
On November 3, 2007, Hobbes was diagnosed with end-stage heart failure. His mommy took him home and packed up the family for a stay at a house with a big back porch for critter-watching, where he spent the rest of his days. He enjoyed a wonderful final holiday season with his loved ones. Nicknamed "Super Kitty" for his drive (defying all odds) to live as long as his body could carry him, he taught his mommy just how happy life could be. He left us on January 19, 2008 and is deeply missed.
