Omar was my first cat. He was part of a feral litter living near my house at the time. My neighbor Mark took a brother, Bob, and I took Omar. I kept him for about a year, darling boy, and then I had to adopt him out because I was relocating to a different country where quarantine laws were strict. He found a forever home with a woman who absolutely adored him.

Omar was incredibly smart. We lived in a house divided into three separate apartments. One day my neighbor opened his door -- and out shot Omar! My friend investigated, and finally came over and said, "Omar got into my apartment." We figured out that Omar had used an open drawer built into the bathroom wall to crawl beneath the house, up through an open floor vent in the other apartment, and out to explore! It was crazy-smart, and not his only trick. Truly, a genuis cat!
