Arrival Story: Alana showed up on my porch September, 2006 with two beautiful kittens. One little girl and one little boy. They both looked like Siamese mix with raccoon tails. The little girl walked up to me, sat down in an adorable pose and looked up at me with those big blue eyes that said "Adore me". I called Rosie at Town Cats and she had a rabbit hutch she could loan me, so I got that and set it up on the porch. I called the local Animal Rescue Center and borrowed a trap and managed to trap Alana. I got her spayed and got all her shots. While she was at the Rescue Center I managed to get the little boy (Fradi) and Zena into the rabbit hutch. When I brought Alana home I put her in the rabbit hutch with her kittens and kept them all until the kitties were only eating solid food. When they were no longer nursing I took both kitties to the Rescue Center and got all their shots and they weighed enough they got fixed. When I took the kitties to the Center I left the door to the hutch open and Alana took off. I figured I would never see her again. Two days later I was cleaning off my porch furniture, bending over the table and Alana came running along the top of the fence, leaped onto the table and gave me a head bonk. Boy was I surprised. It's been over a year and she is still with me. She lets me pick her up and love her. She even let me put a collar and a name tag on her.

OMC, OMC all my dear friends, I came home tonight. Mommy parked her car and got her things out of it and started singing to me and Momma Kitty like she always has and there I was with Momma Kitty. Mommy opened the door and I ran into the house and I have spent the evening eating, getting love and hiding behind the bed. I am not sure I ever want to go out there again. Mommy is so very happy she goes between holding me and crying and laughing. And I just purr and purr and purr. Thank you for all the purrs and prayers. They were very powerful and led me home.
headbonks and purrs,
Alana

When mommy went on her walk around the neighborhood yesterday evening there was a family sitting in their yard and tossing a football around. Mommy was calling me and the little boy asked mommy if she had lost her kitty. Mommy told him she had. The young lady he was tossing a football asked what color I am and mommy pulled out the picture she takes when she goes on these walks. The little boy says he has seen this kitty, and at the same time the mom starts talking to my mommy about feral kitties and the TNR program. The little boy keeps trying to say something and finally mommy and his mom let him speak.
Now, the picture she takes is one of me laying on my boogie mat with my head on my paws and you can't tell I am wearing a color. The little boy says to mommy "Lady I saw this kitty three days ago hiding in that bush over there. Does she have a pinkish collar and a pink name tag?" Mommy almost started crying right there, pulled out my spare collar and showed it to him. He said "That's her, she had that collar on." So they took mommy's name and phone number and are going to call her if they see me again.
So I am only about a block and a half away. And as of three days ago I still had my collar on. I didn’t come home last night or this morning but mommy is hopeful.
Thanks for all the purrs and prayers from all of you.
